for Christmas, my mum sent me a blue silk nightie and dressing gown. luckily i opened it in front of DH only and not the rest of his family. i know she meant well but thanks for the not-so-subtle hint mum and just one more reminder that we are not pg.....

Christmas without a baby is not very fun.

hello all,

hope you all had a very merry Christmas - NovemeberAli, looks like you did! congratulations, that's fantastic news, really glad we got a Christmas BFP.

Sorry AF got you Kaloki, I hope you drowned your sorrows in mulled wine. Clare figers crossed that your cramps aren't a sign of impending AF.

We had a lovely Christmas, but Christmas without a BFP can be a bit painful at times. We are at my mum's house, along with my aunt and uncle and young cousin. I didn't drink on Christmas Eve (was tired and am trying to keep the voloume of alcohol low anyway) and my aunt noticed. During Christmas dinner (when i was knocking back the Sancerre with gusto) she said "well bang goes my theory - I thought you must be pregnant when you weren't drinking yesterday". She was having a bit of a laugh and meant well, but it felt like she'd thumped me!

I am manifesting no symptoms at all, so expect AF to arrive on NYE as scheduled. That's also when I'm due for my next blood test. At least after this first round of tests I'll know whether I have have any grounds for agitation during the 2WW at all...

Good luck to all imminenet testers - here's hoping form another BFP before the end of th decade.

turkeydrumstix · 26/12/2009 14:33

Hi all!
Lots to catch up on - its taken me about an hour to read all your posts!

November - congratulations! A Christmas BFP, how brilliant

Kaloki - sorry the witch got you. Its miserable, isnt it?

Hobnob - I am loving your PSF! A much nicer way to think about all that pre-ov sex than just "wasted shagging" which is what I am guilty of thinking!!

Aly - great news that you got your monitor! Now we can obsess together. They are really easy to reset - check out the very last page of the instruction booklet.

WhiteRoses - I am really pleased that you have decided to go for TTC despite the promotion, I love your huuuuuge posts and would miss them if you took a break haha!

Well, I am feeling a bit better today but I must confess I was absolutely miserable earlier in the week AF arrived on the 23rd so it is CD4 for me. I was so hopeful this month after buying the monitor. We BD'ed five times over the two days that I ovulated and I had no AF symptoms at all. No spots, no moodiness. It seemed so hopeful. I was due on Friday and i refused to test, I dont know why, as you know I am a serial tester , but I just wanted to hold off to keep the amazing sense that I could be pregnant intact. And I kept hold of that feeling for FIVE days! I was FIVE bloody days late! I have never been that late in my life and I was so convinced that it would be good news. No such luck. AF arrived with a vengeance, and I just sat and cried for ages .
Another month, another year, another chance. All that bollox, I guess. Trying to keep optimistic but its really bloody hard.

Sorry to have ranted on, but I know only you guys will understand!!!

Kaloki · 26/12/2009 16:06

TurkeyDrumStix Rant away sweetheart! I was 6 days late so know the feeling entirely. I was so convinced. And as if my body wanted to rub salt into the wound it had to be the heaviest, most painful period I've ever had.

addie81 · 26/12/2009 17:21

Hello everyone, i haven't been on for a while but wanted to drop in and wish everyone a happy christmas and a pregnant new year! No BFP for me yet, but my husband and i tried VERY hard this month and we are trying to think positive! Good luck to everyone else. Sorry to hear your news Sevans.
xx

zippys · 26/12/2009 19:08

Hi everyone, right now I have some time I can do a proper post.

Addie glad you have been trying v hard this month.

Kaloki Sorry to hear the arrival of AF, mother nature is so cruel, it is so annoying when AF is late. I just hope it is a little lighter now. Hope you can relax on sofa with big glass of wine and Christmas chocolate.

Pixie sorry to hear AF arrived for you too. I hope af is not too bad for you now and you are enjoying wine and chocolate too. It is so hard I know, just try to keep positive as hard as it is. I find it quite weird how some months AF arrives and I can cope really well and then other months it hits me like a ton of bricks. I think this time of year is harder as I know that like me, you will thought you would have had a rather large baby bump by now.

Whiteroses congrats on the promotion I think you have made the right choice. I had a similar dilema a while ago but based on how long it is taking me to get pregnant then I am so glad I didnt stop trying. I too agree with pixie I would also really miss your posts.

Yorkshire sorry for your insensitive Aunt, its amazing how people come out with things that they think are innocent but hurt so much. At least you know things are moving along with the blood tests etc. Let us know when you get your results.

kkas I know Christmas will be so much better when we all have babies, it really hits home at times like this that I am childless! Hope you feel a little better today.

claire I think cb digital are not that sensitive so it may still be good news, I am keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Aly good luck with your cb moniter, hopefully you wont have to use it for too long I know what you mean about lack of symptoms I am like that with everything, ooh it could be a symptom!!

Chalky3 hopefully your cycles will settle down, it does make it alot harder to plan and know when to bd. Hope you are enjoying looking at the snow and relaxing.

bunnygirl I hope the exhaustion has been worth it . I think I may start temping next month.

Calyx hope you enjoyed your baileys and got all you jobs done.

Hobnob I am impressed with your restrain waiting 2 years. I have been broody for about 10 years and waiting has been horrible. You just think after waiting all this time it should just happen as soon as you start trying!!

Sorry if I have missed anyone, and I hope eveyone had a lovely christmas day, lets just hope we all have an extra addition this time next year.

Update from me, still feel sick, get results from blood test on 5th dec. Still not done a test as I am due on today (no signs of af yet) and think it will be here tonight or tomorrow so almost seems a waste of money and like pixie, want to keep hold of the idea that I may be pregnant!
I am symptom spotting like anything, had a nose bleed for the first time in about 20 yrs (have read on one thread that that can be a symptom) feel sick (but have done for 2 months and had af since ) As I said no symtoms of af so will wait to see what happens tonight and tomorrow. If no af tomorrow may buy a test.

addie81 · 26/12/2009 22:53

I have just been working all of the dates for this month. I got a positive on my first response ovulation test on day 16. We had sex on days 11, 12, 14, 16 and 18. I am now thinking that it would actually have been days 15 and 17 when our chances would have been best so actually maybe we haven't tried hard enough this month!! There was one occassion when we had sex even though we weren't in the mood at all, and another when we did it even though i wasn't feeling well. I am getting to the point where i start thinking its not "worth doing it" when i know it won't make a baby because its the wrong time of the month, which i know is a very negative attitude!
do you think we have a chance with those timings?

bunnygirl80 · 27/12/2009 02:01

Hi

Hope everyone had a good christmas.

Sorry about the BFN claire - hope it didn't ruin your day.

addie I think that with those stats there will have been plenty of little swimmers hanging around when you ov'd.

We went to a friend's barbecue for xmas day and DH managed to drink his own body weight in beer so was too drunk for any bd action on xmas day and too hungover (or tired and emotional as he put it) yesterday! Really feel like I will ov in the next day or two so will have to hope he makes a recovery today!

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 27/12/2009 09:10

Good luck with the Bding Addie and Bunnygirl, I think it sounds like you should have some swimmers in the rightplace at the right time with those stats Addie. Lots of sympathy with you Bunny, its so frustrating when you spend so much effort and energy pinpointing ovulation and then your DH renders homself incapable. If he's anything like mine he'll be all over you when ovulation is long since over!

zippys I've got everything crossed for you. I hope AF stays away today and you get you BFP.

We are off to the in-laws today, so I am bracing myself for more hints about starting a family...

zippys · 27/12/2009 09:34

bunnygirl I hope you manage to get some action in today! I agree with Yorkshire it is always after o that my dp want loads of sex and too tired around o!

addie I think you should be ok with those days. Fingers crossed this is the month for you.

Yorkshire hope you have a nice day today and don't have any insensitive comments.

No sign of af yet so officially late! I want a bfp so much that I am too scared to go out and buy a test which is so unlike me, as you know normally a poas addict! Just think if I go out and buy a test af will arrive!!

kkas · 27/12/2009 10:19

morning guys - have had achey cramps and sore nipples for the past 2 days. and yesterday after picking something up off the floor, when i stood up i felt very faint and had to sit down for a few seconds. something definitely feels different, but then again, my temps are starting to go down again. AF is likely to be here today or tomorrow, and i'm like zippys and stix thinking that if i don't take a test, i might really be pg.... clinging on to the slightest bit of hope.

anyway if it's still not here by new year's eve, i'll test.

stix sorry to hear about AF. i've updated you on the list, but wasn't sure what to put for UCL. please correct it if it's wrong. chin up hun and start thinking of those PSF

hope you guys are all recovering from xmas and looking forward to a fun new year's eve to ring in a new decade! can't believe it's the end of one... still remember the millennium. i was a senior in high school and spent the night dancing with my high school sweetheart at a church dance in a gymnasium. we used the basketball score board to countdown to 2000.... aw.... young love. where were you?

Had planned to go for a nice walk along the cliffs today to have a nosey at some of Sydeny's poshest suburbs but it's pouring with rain so looks like I'll be stuck inside all day. boo. DH will be happy though as it means he'll be able to watch the cricket on tv all day!

Hi all,

Just been catching up on everyone's news over Christmas. Welcome WorrisomeHeart. Sorry to those who have been got by AF.

So the news here - I started spotting on Christmas eve, felt very premenstrual and sure that AF was coming. I even went out to buy tampons. Very light spotting continued for 4 days and now has just about stopped. We're back home now after visiting my family so I went out to buy a test, though I was sure it would be negative.

And...............BFP!! Clear Blue digital says 1-2 weeks!! Am in total shock!!

kkas · 28/12/2009 12:04

congrats eleanora so excited for you! 4 days of spotting before your BFP gives me hope!

Congratulations to Nov Ali and Eleanora, lovely news, you must be so chuffed.

Sorry to those who have been caught by AF - bloody irritating/frustrating/depressing no doubt. Fresh start and all that ...I know it's no consolation though.

CD 27 and i'm on a long one this month. I've been very up and down - know exactly what you mean by the hormones worrisome!!!! I swear I never used to get any PMT or AF symptoms until I started all this but now OMG i'm tuned into my body so much now I know every little change! Think i'm out for this month too as been getting cramps for over a week now - been a bit teary about it today hormone alert but trying to remain positive.

Was helped at Christmas by very sweet in laws who were telling me how long it took them to conceive and the heartache it caused -I didn't bring it up BTW but think it's quite obvious that nothing is happening for us - only for them to have happy healthy children & grandchildren. Makes you put things into perspective - and slightly more hopeful that this time next year it will be a whole different story.

Also i've read a few distressing posts on different threads which again makes you thankful for what you have. Getting very philosphical with the end of year - can you tell?!

Sorry i've not been able to read all posts and respond but needless to say hopeful for any of you testing soon and hope it's a fantastic start to 2010 for us all!

Anyone else checking out their 2010 horoscopes in the vain hope it may say something along the lines of

'Saturn's influence will bring wonderful news - you're going to have a baby'

or some such like. I'm clutching at straws, I know.

Lol mrscino - my horoscope for June says... 'Something is about to change - Big Time - in your home and family life, Capricorn. Oh, but not to worry - this will be one of those changes that brings you joy, and lots of it.' And we all know how reliable horoscopes are, I should probably book my maternity leave now huh? Mind you, not happy about having to wait until June for a BFP...

Wow, two BFPs! How wonderful! Congrats NovemberAli and Eleanora! What great news! And good luck to all of you near the end of your cycles testing soon!

Congrats to the BFPs, commiserations to the AFs. Hope the New Year brings everyone the babies they want.
