Hi Chocolatedays. I don't think she's namechanged but she's been pretty busy in RL, particularly with moving house and decorating. I will email or text her and let her know you are asking about her.

chocolatedays · 20/09/2009 13:47

has she had / in process of her 2nd attempt?

Want to talk about cysts?! Had one on the 2nd (successful) attempt - got to 45mm - had to fight to keep the attempt going as HH all for abandoning it.
They can drain it at EC (I think) - so don't worry it does not have to affect your outcome - though does effect the number of follies. - Post if you feel like it - but I understand if you don't. (fellow +3/5yrs ttcer!)

Hi gilly. Glad to know you're ok. hope all is going well for the planned egg collection on weds. Hope you can take a couple of days off to stay at home and relax and keep your belly warm. sounds wierd i know but traditional chinese medicine says that a woman trying to conceive should keep her abdomen warm to nurture everything. An acupuncturist also told me that same thing. I had reflexology on day 5 after Embryo Transfer and she told me that the embryos would probably had implanted by then. They only float about for 2-3 days before starting to burrow in. She did not massage the hormonal areas but did massage the brain area and abdominal areas.

I test on Sat 26 sept to find out if I'm pregnant. So scared. I want to be but don't know how i'll feel if I am. I know how i'll feel if i'm not

chocolatedays · 21/09/2009 18:36

Thinking of you too KC.

Gilly - don't panic if you can't take any time off - I couldn't either - in fact had quite a stressful time and had to call in a sickie to have et. I did go to bed pretty much as soon as I got home and dh had dinner ready and gave me breakfast in bed too. bless.

Go Gilly. Those follies sound great. I hope the wait after EC isn't too bad. I only had two days between EC and ET this time as the clinic does not (until next month) open on Sundays. The first day I was pretty drowsy so that went by in a flash. I am officially on day 12 after EC. that's just a smidge past the last IVF attempt, so I feel a little bit confident that i've got a bit further.

Do you have a competitive DH/DP. Is he obsessed with how many follicles etc?

Wheelybug · 23/09/2009 18:13

well done for starting this thread Chocolatedays - I came over to the conception boards to try and see how Gilly was doing.

Gilly - best wishes for this round of ICSI. Hope EC went ok and wishing you much strength/patience for the coming week(s).

It would great to keep this thread updated if/when you feel able. We're all routing for you.

Sorry to say I'm bleeding and in proper agonising cramps right now. I guess it's game over.

I will still test on saturday as planned. As least the shock is much less severe than the first IVF attempt. Maybe i'm not meant to be a mother. I know the next attempt will not be til March 2010 at the earliest. I am praying to conceive naturally before then.

chocolatedays · 24/09/2009 18:47

KC I'm so sorry. Try not to think about what is meant to be or not - you have loads of progesterone pumping around your body (which certainly makes me feel grim) and you have been through the constant highs and lows of IVF. Praying for you too.

Gilly, I completely understand what you are saying. I felt, after the first IVF attempt, we were in it for the (even longer) longhaul. We discussed how many attempts we would do and I pondered whether dh's adamant view about not adopting could be reversed. You will, at least learn more about what does and does not work (think you are injecting progesterone this time, and were you on a different protocol etc?). I held in my heart the hope it would work but my head the stats that, at my age, it would take four attempts before I should really give up.

much love
Cx

Sorry KC and here's hoping you don't make that next IVF attempt - we've never chatted I don't think but I know a little of the difficulties of ttc (although nothing compared to you guys).

Gilly - glad EC went well. Will be thinking of you and hoping for the very very best.

chocolatedays · 26/09/2009 13:12

Hi Gilly

Fantastic!

Who is doing your prog jabs? Are you taking them into HH? If so warm them first (i put mine in my bra on the way in). Also - if you live near your gp surgury your nurse may well be happy to do it and may be gentler.
