I've started a new plan to cheer me up- am looking for a new cat!!! Have already got a gorgeous tortie girl but she is very feisty. Would like a docile ragdoll cat (you following me here??!!! Those of you with cats should do...) but dont know how current cat will take to it. Any cat experts got any clues?

Am at the calm peaceful randy bit of cycle at mo so am happy
claire thanks for the spring clean- think that has made us still trying look quite minimal! Obviously a long overdue clean up!

my mum has one and they are fab cats.

for intergrating with your tortie girl i would say - do it slowly and invest in a feliway diffuser (ask at the vets)

Good luck - id say you cant do much better than a new kitten to lift your spirits!

m2o, I was told that the secret with new cats is to get an opposite gender - so if you have a feisty tortie girl get a boycat (although I don't know what ragdoll is so have to look up!). I introduced my little scaredy tortiegirl to the house when I already had a big black bruiser boycat, and because she didn't threaten him it was all ok.

m2o I have 3, all male moggies. The last one to arrive was last October. tbh I just let them get on with it, I plug a feliway diffusor in and just let them mix as much as they want or don't want, spit at each other and go huffy, them after about 3 - 5 days they're all fine with each other. My middle cat hated the arrival of the newest and now they play madly and are best mates, I'll stick a photo of them playing on my profile for a while. The black one is no2 cat and the tabby is the newcomer, no3 cat.

Claire that photo is amazing! My two cats do lots of silly things but I never seem to be able to catch them at it.

m2o - when we got the second one she was just a kitten and the older one was frightened of her! Well for about two days, then she just looked at the new one with great disdain. Now they are best buddies, and sleep and play together.

Reckon I will have to go for another moggie- was looking at ragdolls but the general consensus seems to be that they are indoor cats and it would be really unfair to have one locked up all day while the other one has the run of the district!!!

Will have a look out for a male cat I think- want a really loving one this time- Evie is a complete psycho bitch!!

Afraid I'm not a cat fan - hope that doesn't alienate me from half the thread .

Back from a luurrrvely weekend away with DH in Startford on Avon. Wrong time of cycle unfortunately but suppose that means no pressure!

Wish me luck for docs tomorrow. Only GP but am nervous all the same.
