Blimey - most of us are at the docs tomorrow! Lots of luck.

ShayeraHol · 25/05/2009 22:43

Guess we gather here for an update tomorrow evening

Hmmm. I think we'll excuse you from eviction Jaamy, on the grounds that it's not the "TTC and cat talk" thread. But thin ice, young lady...

SAEJ · 25/05/2009 23:58

HI,
Not sure if I am posting in the right place?

I am mummy to my DS - 10 months and been TTC no 2 for past 2/3 months.

Beginning to chart again this month, was hoping for a surprise BFP before it got to that.

PistachioLemon · 26/05/2009 10:34

Morning SAEJ welcome to our thread. You're definitely in the right place, the ladies here are lovely and very supportive.

Shayera I just noticed you back at the top I'm sorry to see you there.

I'm back from the doctors, he was very nice, apparently my cervix is 'what he would class as normal' so the next stage is a scan which is booked for a week today. He has requested the doctor (it's always been a nurse when I was scanned before so that is interesting) look at my ovaries at the same time too, because the not conceiving, even though my treatment isn't for that.

He was actually really helpful about the ttc thing actually, he says if they do a hysteroscopy (the camera bit) which is likely, he'll be able to check out my tubes too. Which is useful.

He also recommends that after sex you stay joined together for 5 mins to help the sperm reach their destination

ClaireDeLoon · 26/05/2009 13:18

oops how rude of me - welcome SEAJ

PistachioLemon · 26/05/2009 14:06

Hey Claire, your doctor sounds wonderful. Do you know yet when the scan will be?

LOL at 'joined together' - might try that!

Molliemooma · 26/05/2009 14:18

mummy2olivia Love the plan of the new cat, lets hope it turns out to be a distraction which leads to a nice surprise
Shayer So pleased you have finished "stopping" Good luck for your appointment today
Claire That picture is fab! Glad to hear they don't think anything is wrong with your cervix, did they give any other indication as to what was causing the bleeding? Sounds like a supportive consultant, which is just what you need. Lol at sticking together for 5 minutes after I think thats worse than sticking your bum and legs in the air
Jaamy I don't think I can talk to you anymore cat hater! Good luck for the doctors for you too

I booked my nuchal scan today, for next Tuesday am feeling a little emotional over it as we didn't find out we'd lost our 2nd lo until the dating scan last year and I'm just dreading the same thing happening, or getting high risk results, but then there's always something to worry about on our journeys

ClaireDeLoon · 26/05/2009 14:43

PL scan is next Tuesday so not long to wait - the doctor my consultant wanted to scan me wasn't available this week (with it being a small private hospital I suspect that consultants and doctors are only there maybe a day a week?). The consultant mentioned he works also at the large NHS hospital nearby where I was treated for my mc.

I felt like saying could he give his junior doctors a lesson in sensitivity please - the silly woman kept looking at us quizzically and saying 'you do understand what has happened don't you?'. At that point we had known it wasn't a viable pregnancy for nearly a week following a scan whilst on hioliday in germany so it wasn't really helpful as neither of us are too thick to understand that we had lost our baby.

oops mini rant.

Mollie lots of luck for your scan, I'm keeping everything crossed for you. We'll be being scanned at the same time!

ClaireDeLoon · 26/05/2009 14:43

And I agree - the joined together thing is very funny

ShayeraHol · 26/05/2009 16:19

Pretty happy with appt today - not exactly good news, but we have a plan of action now. Our GP confirmed as useless, apparently kept testing me on wrong day... So had FSH bloods today for first time. I go back for a scan next week to see if my funny thing is dermoid cyst, endo or nothing - the first two both mean laps, the third is clearly good. Hbby had to have bloods and has to do another sperm count - this time looking at whole sample not just a drop. Unlike when he spoke to GP, it's not all over yet - although they have stressed that if his resuls dn't change then it's IVF or nowt. Next appt is July, so we can just relax and enjoy this one!

I'm on iPhone and on a train, so plsexcuse typos and lack of normal pleasantries - v hard to keep scrolling back to read what people have said - but thought I'd just let you all know that it's not totally game over chez Hol. Back for proper hat when on computer tomorrow - tonight i'm off to see The Saturdays in a "private" concert!

Oh, and Mr. Hol says if we can't have babies then I can have a kitten

ClaireDeLoon · 26/05/2009 16:24

Glad it went well Shayera and at least from now on you don't have to deal with useless GP with this issue. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your DH's results and your scan.

That's 3 of us having scans next week now for various reasons!

Enjoy The Saturdays

SAEJ · 26/05/2009 16:26

Hmmmmmmm, joined together for five mins . . DH will be drooling and snoring by then and I just can't imagine a conversation which fits those circs .

ShayeraHol · 26/05/2009 16:27

Exception from my not chatting for Claire though - normal cervix has to be good, hope the scan helps track down the problem. I can shed light n doc vs nurse at scan as I was told today - a doc can diagnose whereas nurse or sonographer can only report. I'm with a doc for next week's scan too.

ShayeraHol · 26/05/2009 16:31

DH would happily fall asleep "in position" as it were - but he weighs 16 stone so no bloody chance!

mummy2olivia · 26/05/2009 20:30

Had a dream the other night that I had a baby girl called Lily- the birth was really vivid and beautiful and she weighed 8lb 15.5oz and I had no pain relief and breast feeding her was great and everything was great and then I woke up and felt the need to give myself a kick up the arse and give this thing an extra shove!!!

So am on a new plan as of tonight....see below....

Me and DH Minimal alcohol(1 glass of red a week), no caffeine (1 starbucks per week as a treat), 2 litres of water a day, eat healthy, excercise, sex every day

DH wellman, 15mg Zinc, 1000mg Vit C, L'Arginine 1000mg, 1 vit E 400iu, 2 omega 3 capsules.

moi pregnacare plus DHA, vit e 400iu, EPO 3000mg day 1-15 (O day).

I'm gonna nail this baby lark!!!!!!!

Hope everyone is well- comments a'la operation 'get the sperm to the goddamn egg before I spend 5 grand on IVF' much appreciated

Can't wait to see the results of all this fact finding- scans, blood tests, sperm tests- we are all up for answers arent we?? Lets hope we get some of the right kind!!!

Jaamy · 26/05/2009 21:11

You can add me to the list for scans next week!

GP said pretty much what I'd thought - because I got pg twice last year (although both ended in mc) then, in theory we have only been TTC for 8 months and not the 2.5 years that we have been waiting. Also because we have had 2 DDs naturally (though one is a clomid baby) he sees no reason to refer me ( I know I'm just being greedy . Only when I said I have been haivng pain in lower abdomen through whole cycle and that menstruation is lasting only a couple of days instead of usual 5 did he pull out the "send for scan" form. Booked in for pelvic scan a week on Sat. Bummer is that it's only with a sonographer so any results will go back to GP and he's not going to take matter any further if nothing shows up. Well, at least I'm having something looked at, though I can't help feeling it's not quite the right bits

Anyway, M2O - good to see the new regime. If when it works you can write a book and sell it for squillions.

Mollie - not so much a cat hater as someone who has an aversion to the feline foe that keep pooing in my garden! Claire - your cat is very pretty

Mollie - I hope the rest of us girls will agree that your scan will be infinitely more exciting than the rest of ours. This little bean is going to be a sticker. x

Shayera - good to hear the appt was a bit more positive. Enjoy the show!

Claire - I do wonder sometimes why people choose their occupation. Why work with gynae when you have neither the tact nor empathy to deal with the sadder parts of the job? It's lovely to hear that you've found a good consultant.

Hello and welcome to SEAJ.

Big waves to PL and Ei too.

ClaireDeLoon · 26/05/2009 22:04

Blimey Jaamy next week is Big Scan Week on here! I didn't realise you'd been having that pain, I hope it's OK. It must bre very frustrating for you. Have they suggested any further investigations for your mc's?

ClaireDeLoon · 27/05/2009 11:17

blackrock sorry you're back at the top

Jaamy · 27/05/2009 11:23

Hey Blackrock - How are you? IS the weight still dropping off? Surely there can't be much more left of you? Sorry you're back at the top, I'm sure I'll be joining you there soon.

Zen - hope all went ok today.

Claire - no, GP doesn't seem intersted that I had 2 MCs in 6 months. Just looked at our DDs (who I had to bring to the appt because of no babysitter) and couldn't understand why I thought there was any problem. I'm just being greedy I suppose.

I have been getting abdominal pains but I thought it was due to my left kidney which has a slight abnormality. I get pain there when I've got an infection coming on. My cervix is on that side too.

ShayeraHol · 27/05/2009 17:24

It's official - I can no longer function on just 5 hours of sleep. Have been totally incompetent today, no coordination or sense of balance, fell over on a bus! Hilarious (and embarrassing ). Saturdays are skinny skinny things in real life, who after the show dressed down into skinny jeans and four inch heels (not that they spoke to us, we saw them leaving). And I saw paparazzis in action for the first time - very odd experience. I might be in the background of one shot which amuses me

This definitely seems like a thread of scanning and action taking - hope we all get some good answers!

m2o Liking the grand plan - both in terms of content & name! Hope it pays off.

Jaamy You're not being greedy! Completely understandable to want another baby. Seems weird that the GP doesn't care about your MCs, and that they would reset the TTC clock. Is there someone else at the surgery you could talk to about it?

Welcome SAEJ! A bit belated I know.

blackrock sorry you're back at the top. Also want to know your latest weight loss!

Claire cycle buddies

Mollie v excited for your scan! Yours is definitely the best scan of next week.

Hi to everyone else!

ShayeraHol · 27/05/2009 18:25

Have just realised the irony of complaining about only 5 hours sleep on a thread dedicated to having babies
