A new thread to follow on from Part 3 - AKA the lucky thread!

Lets get some more BFP's this month

Dawn, that's horrible you must have been so frightened. At least you know that Jelly isn't being affected now. Has reducing your evening insulin helped at all? It's the last thing you need to worry about... so imminent labour then... you all packed and ready to go?

Summer how are you getting on for your own imminent labour?!?

MAF how are the follies? Did you have another scan today?

Welcome Moondaughter - all the ladies are lovely on here and are so supportive and helpful so do stick around. I haven't got a BFP yet, but hopefully soon. I'm 33, been married for 5 years and we're trying for #1.

Crunchy how are you feeling? Did you take the rest of the week off? I'm another for saying that you should take the time that you need.

Well my big news is not BFP related, but that my BIL finally moved out AND his timing was impecable [sp?] because I'm on CD12 and will hopefully be ovulating soon so lots of practicing will be going on over the next week or so! I'm not too hopeful for this month as I'm also on study leave now and have exams at the beginning of June so I'm going to be quite stressed but I'm trying to think of TTC as a de-stressing activity for now!

Hope you are all well.

PL

DawnAS · 22/05/2009 20:53

Hey Pistachio,

Yay for BIL moving out!! (In the nicest possible way of course... !!).

Can't wait for you to start trying this month then - I'll be looking forward to your 2ww!! Definitely use BDing as de-stress - it might work wonders!!

Reducing my evening meal insulin last night didn't really do anything so I reduced my overnight one aswell. But tonight I've had Dominos Pizza and only taken 30 units, so hoping that I haven't overdone it with the food... I did also have a sneaky glass of red wine though, after my Mum convincing me that it wouldn't do Jelly any harm at this late stage. It's only about the 4th glass that I've had since I got PG so I've been quite well-behaved really. I then found out that where I was thinking that alcohol was sugar and would rocket my bloods (hence why I'd avoided it) I found out online today that it drops your sugar levels. So hopefully that and the pizza would have evened out the reduction in insulin that I've made. I'll find out in a couple of hours!!

I am pretty much ready to go, well my case is packed but Jelly's isn't yet - I really should get on with it. All the stuff is out in her room, I just need to transfer it to the case.

Summer, I started taking my Raspberry Leaf Tablets today, one a day for a week and then increase to two a day. Hoping it will make the labour go quicker...

So, I have now finished work!! DH is taking some time off next week aswell so we'll have a few days together hopefully before Jelly makes an appearance, just hoping the weather stays as lovely as it did today...

Anyone got any exciting plans for the weekend?

xxx

BubbaP · 24/05/2009 10:08

Hi girls!!!

I haven't been ignoring you don't worry, I've been keeping fully up to speed with all the news, I just haven't had time to post a long message before now.... so here goes....

Big welcome to moondaughter? this is a very friendly thread and MAF is an expert!

pistachio great news on BIL moving out, perfect timing for you and DH! Good luck with your revision and exams.

MAF great news about your follies. Hope you managed to get spunked up this weekend!

Dawn sorry to hear about your hypos, but you?re being so brave and coping so well. Great news that you?ve finished work, and you?re packed & ready to go! We?re counting down to the big day with you, and can?t wait to see pics of Jelly! How is your sister and baby Ewan? Hope they?re doing well.

summerbird hope you and the summerbean are well ? can?t wait to see him or her! Hope you manage to get all your house jobs sorted and have a bit of a rest before the summerbean arrives!

crunchy hopefully you?ve taken some time off work to build yourself back up ? mums know best! Was your scan last week or is it this coming week? Fingers crossed for you.

fairy hope you?re well, only a couple more days for you now until your scan. Please let us know how you get on, honey.

hever hope you, DP and baby Chloe are doing well. Would love to hear how you?re getting on when you get a spare minute.

So we've had a pretty busy couple of weeks. I haven't had any more spotting since I ended up in hospital the other week, so fingers crossed that it's all OK.

I've had my Down?s screening results through and it came back as low risk which was a huge relief. I've also had my fist community midwife appointment where I heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time. AMAZING. I'm also well and truly in maternity clothes now and I've started to feel the baby moving, so it's all feeling much more real now.

I've got my 20 week scan on 5th June (we definitely won't forget that date, will we?).

I also wanted to ask some questions... I'm thinking of signing up for the NCT classes, and wanted to know if any of you have been on them? Also how do they compare to the NHS classes?

Also, I'm interested to find out about prams/pushchairs/travel systems.. what have you gone for? and where have you bought from? we've got loads of time yet, but I just can't get my head around all the different options!

Hope you're all having a lovely bank holiday weekend in the sun!

love and hugs to all Bubba P xxxxxxx

PistachioLemon · 24/05/2009 10:54

Morning all!

BubbaP good to see you back on here. Wonderful news about your downs screening coming back as low risk. I can't believe you are into maternity clothes and everything - so exciting.

Dawn Dominos and red wine - great combination - your Mum is right and it probably was good for you! How are the hypos? Hopefully it's calmed down a bit for you. Like Bubba, I can't wait to see little Jelly and Summerbean. Hever how are you and little Chloe doing?

Well ladies this will make you laugh... last night after 'de-stressing' DH announced 'well I think that must have done it and you're now pregnant'. Hmmm, we'll see... didn't stop him having a back-up try this morning though . BIL moving out is definitely good news!

Anyhow, hope you're all having wonderful bank holiday weekends. I'm off to hit the books.

PL

crunchynutter · 24/05/2009 10:59

Hi all!

Dawn I hope you are okay? It must be soo scary for you and your DH. I really hope Jelly gets here soon though- it's vry exciting and like you said, you can avoid induction!

Fairy Thanks for the advice on the anti-D. I have calmed down lol i think it just panicked me the way the midwife glossed over it (i got paranoid she was just trying not to scare me lol) but it doesn't seem so bad like you say!

BubbaP My scan was Thursday and it was amazing!! it was so clear and my little one was dancing around loads- the sonographer even commented on how lively she was and said everything seemed fine! it was so lovely to see. Although i keep referring to baby as 'she' now for some reason and obviously we dont know. I've been told i'm going to have to stop or i'll get stuck on the idea of a little girl lol. There was only one baby however but im surprisingly not disappointed... she was active enough so think we'll be kept busy!

I did stay off work but was on a bit of a high thursday so went back on Friday as it was my yr 11s last day-i was glad i got to say bye to them but im feeling really bad now my glands have swollen, my throat is killing me and i have a splitting headache- and have a meal later for my MIL's 50th! at least ive got this week off though! xx

makingafamily · 25/05/2009 10:36

Hey ladies. I hate to post and run but here's a very quick update, things all went a bit chaotic again but............

........I got basted on Saturday WOOHOOOOO

Will be back at work tomorrow so will have a proper catch up then but 2WW here i go looks like were cycle buddies PL

xxx

PistachioLemon · 25/05/2009 11:35

MAF YAY to getting basted! And to being cycle buddies... fingers crossed for both of us

fairywing · 26/05/2009 18:25

Well, less than 24 hours to go till the scan. I haven't felt so confsed and frightened since the miscarriage. I desperately hope that everything is ok with this little one. I took another pregnancy test earlier - how ridiculous is that!! And i almost cried yesterday when i saw my eigth individual magpie...thats a whole lot of sorrow. I guess things are already decided and stressing and worrying isn't going to change anything. Easier said than done though. Can't see a lot of sleep happening tonight.

BubbaP · 26/05/2009 18:46

pistachio I love the story about your DH?s announcement! Hope the studying is going well.

crunchy so glad all went well with your scan!!! YAY! So what?s your estimated due date so that we can add it to the calendar? I also started off being convinced we?re having a girl, but we?re now both convinced it?s a boy. It?s good to get your head around both if you can, especially if you?ve got a secret preference! Hope you?re feeling a bit better this half term week.

Go MAF great news about the weekend?s events! We?ll be holding hands with you and pistachio during your 2WW!

Fairy I couldn?t let your message go unanswered?. But I wanted to let you know that Dawn and I have been there and we are now out the other side. I?m just coming up to 20 weeks now, and I couldn?t let myself believe that this little one would stick but it has. I really hope you get some sleep tonight, and please let us know how it goes. Be thinking of you all day tomorrow.

Anyone heard from Dawn or Summerbird? is it just me thinking that we may have at least 1 new addition?

Big hellos to everyone else!
xxx

DawnAS · 26/05/2009 19:28

Hello ladies,

MAF, Yay for the basting!! Hope it's worked for you!!

Pistachio, PMSL at your DH's declaration of success!! Glad the BIL moving out is helping in the BDing department. DH and I are BDing loads at the moment aswell to try and get my cervix softened to hopefully make the induction easier next Friday (sorry about TMI... ). Also taking my Raspberry Leaf Tablets which are supposed to encourage the uterus to contract, but nothing as yet...

Bubbap, sorry hun, still here, no sign of Jelly yet. In fact I really think the induction will take some times aswell as I don't even think her head's started to engage yet. I am still going through the night with just having to get up once to go to the loo, which I believe is unheard of when I'm 38 weeks tomorrow!!

Fairy, please keep your chin up honey. We'll all be with you in the scan-room tomorrow (virtually of course...) holding your hand when you see baby Fairy . Bubbap's right, it is a difficult time when you've been through a MC, but I am convinced that everything will be fine. If you think you're not going to sleep well, then don't. Put on a soppy film or read a good book, anything to try and keep your mind occupied. You can catch up on sleep when you've got your scan pics next to you on your bedside table!! What time is your appointment? I'm on mat leave now but will be out in the morning and home in the afternoon so will check how you got on. In fact, if you have a morning appointment, I may even log on from my Mum's house to double-check!! Good Luck babe.

Crunchy, I'm so glad that your scan went well and your LO is active!! Jelly was quite active aswell if I recall... She certainly is now anyway! Her movements don't seem to have slowed much at all really, which I'm quite surprised at since she must have very little room to move around now. My bump is massive and is getting bigger by the day. I'm almost scared to write this down incase I tempt fate, but as yet, I haven't got ANY stretchmarks.... . I've heard that some people get them after the birth - how unfair is that, thinking they've got away with it to get them afterwards!!

Earth calling Summer, hope things are Ok with the Summerbean - 39 weeks tomorrow hun!!

So, bit of a nightmare here. Less than 2 weeks before I'm induced and both our dog and cat have got fleas!!! We use Frontline religiously every month so we don't know how it's happened. We have a house-vet so I called her today and she said that Frontline has been around for some time now and they're finding that it's just no longer effective, so they're getting us some other stuff ordered and some stuff to do the house. We haven't seen any in the house at all, only on Tilly (the dog), but I guess they must be somewhere. Poor DH took this week off to spend time together and now he's going to have to de-flea. I can't be here because of the PG!! What a nightmare!!

Hope everyone else is OK and is enjoying the balmy weather!!

Well i did sleep but i'm up already!! Scan is at 11am. Just over 5 hours to go. Will probably visit family afterwards though so probably won't be reporting back until later this afternoon. Whatever happens, thank-you for your support through this ladies xx

Fairy we will all be thinking of you. Good luck!!

Hi all, well we are back and we have one healthy baby!! 11+5 today so due 11th December. It was very wiggly in the end but was curled up fast asleep to start with and didn't want to wake up and play. The relief when we saw its little heart beating was indescribable!!! Very happy. Off to share our news with family now. Thanks again for all the support

PistachioLemon · 27/05/2009 14:12

Hey there, nice to see you again NewMember. How are you doing? Sorry to see you on the next cycle along.

Fairy congratulations again! Hope you're managing to catch up on lost beauty sleep tonight.

Hi Dawn good to see you still here (although I'm very impatient about the arrival of Jelly - not long to go now). How is the insulin going? I hope you haven't had any more hypos.

Oh, and I meant to say, thanks for the flea tip, I didn't know that about Frontline, it's what we use on our cats too. I'll ask the vet about it next time we take them for a renewal/checkup. Hope your DH has managed to get them all under control now.

So MAF do you feel any different? You must be DPO 4 or 5 now...

I don't know whether I've ovulated or not yet. This is a very strange cycle I have to say. First my period was extra long (sorry, TMI) so I wondered if something happened last month but didn't catch, and now my temps are all over the place. To make it worse I slept in one morning so that temp isn't really reliable...grrr. Based on previous cycles (I know you can't really but bear with me) I should be ovulating today BUT I am too tired to do any 'de-stressing' so that will have to wait til tomorrow and hopefully eggy will wait for me too!

That's all for now. Off to bed in a minute.
Hope you're all well?

summerbird · 28/05/2009 22:23

hey guys just a quick jump on to let you all know i am fine! we have been off line for a week and the study and hallway is now officially complete!! no bubba yet but still another week to DDay.

i have loads to catch up on so will do a full catch up post tomorrow morning.

OP posts:
summerbird · 29/05/2009 22:47

just catching up!

PL good news on the BIL and his perfect timing! Hope he left in time for the 'optimum time' if you get me!! you never know as i was convinced i wasnt pg the month i actually did get pg...

dawn hope you are ok after your hypos, it must have been scary but glad to hear jelly is good and unaffected by it all. i agree with your mum that a glass of vino wont do any harm at this stage (bearing in mind your insulin too but you should be fine). I too have started on the Raspberry Leaf but am trying the tea which is surprisingly nice. DH made me a nice hot curry tonight - we might even try some 'BDing' tomorrow if i am not too scary for him!!

Oh and i have to say that i have the dreaded stretchmarks even though i have been putting cream and oil on since xmas unfortunately i have heard of one girl who did get them after the birth but that doesnt mean you will - and even if you do then they fade really quickly anyway.

bubba welcome back hun, so glad to hear the DS screening came back low risk, it was so stressful for us waiting for it to come through so i know how much of a relief it is. On the subject of classes, i only went to the NHS classes as i couldnt get booked on to NCT as they were fully booked way in advance, so i advise you to get in there quick if you want to do it. The NHS ones were fine and gave lots of good advice on coping with labour etc. I think the NCT ones concentrate more on how to look after a baby. Onto travel systems - we got one where you can click the carrycot, buggy and car seat onto one chassis, it is by ICandy and is the cherry model - there is a good demo on the ICandy website. Shop around on price tho as we found a difference of a good £200 for the same model!

crunchy fantastic news on the scan! and hoorah to the little one bouncing around for you - ours was fast asleep on our first one! brilliant brilliant brilliant!

MAF woo hoo! here's to the eurobabba!! i am sooo excited for you, keep us all updated on your 2WW!!

fairy sorry i wasnt here to hold your hand earlier in the week, but i am thrilled to see that it all went well, it is such a relief to see the little heartbeat going and very excited for you that you have a due date. Well done and good for you for being so strong x

i think that is me caught up now, we only have a few days to go to due date, i am now 39+2 and waiting patiently every pain i get now i am convinced it is the one!! It is weird to think that in just over 2 weeks we will definitely have a baby

have a good weekend ladies and enjoy the blazing sunshine

OP posts:
PistachioLemon · 30/05/2009 09:20

Morning ladies! It's all been very quiet here, I hope you've all been enjoying the sunshine - and a lovely weekend to come too. Let's just hope this isn't the full extent of our summer like last year.

Summer I can't believe it's nearly time for you and Dawn. Here's to lots of curry, sex and raspberry leaf tea to make it all quick and easy. I also can't imagine having enough energy so near to your due date to decorate/remodel your study and hallway. If you run out of rooms to decorate while you're waiting for little Summerbean to arrive you can always pop by my house, we're quite keen to get some done soon.

Dawn any news? You've been very quiet. I hope you're okay.

Well, my good news is that my temperature finally shot up yesterday and FF is saying that I ovulated on CD17. Woohooo! So 2WW here I come. I'm a teeny bit about it because I didn't get a pre-ovulation temperature dip (as I did the previous months) but if it's right we did the deed the day beforehand so that's quite good timing.

MAF how's the 2WW treating you? Any symptoms yet?

The bad news is that it means I will probably get my period right before my last exam - HA - my body certainly knows how to time things eh. Or it won't arrive - now that would be good! So fingers crossed for exams and the 2WW.

Oopsy, the message for MAF was supposed to go after the message to Dawn and then the two me me me bits were supposed to go together at the end! Must pay more attention/preview.

summerbird · 30/05/2009 18:13

PL i have had this weird burst of energy recently, DH is a bit unnerved by it, it is worth it though as the study looks fab now.

I am more intrigued (and impressed) as to where dawn gets all her energy to do all this BDing, good for you girl!! I have to admit i have gone well off it the last couple of months as a beach ball belly covered in purple stretch marks just doesnt feel sexy in any way shape or form!! (in my case anyway) Mind you we cant wait to get back into it in a few weeks!!

I also cant wait to do simple things like: walk up the stairs without having to sit down afterwards, walk to the shops, turn over in bed or sitting up without winding myself, tying shoelaces, painting toenails etc etc etc!!

Blimey isnt this weather tremendous!!!!!
