Anyone feel like joining this bus??

I'm 36, TCC 1, never wanted children and now have done a complete u-turn!

that is outrageous you should write a Stern Letter.

skihorse · 03/06/2009 10:55

I refuse to move back to the UK until a sufficient number of Stern Letters have been written and a satisfactory conclusion gained on behalf of the Chocolate Button Appreciation Society.

donttrythisathome · 03/06/2009 12:22

Stick with Cadburys.

Tis the bucketloads of vegetable oil and the plebby non-organic milk make them soooo delicious.

What brought you to the Lowlands ski?

Wonder where our preggers ladies are - they all abandoned us! Anyone seen them around? Must have scared them off.

I'm getting jiggy with it every second night now, to build up to the bonkathon around ovulation. Don't know how people can get it on every night - would get in the way of my MN posting!! Ah, the irony....

I get an organic box delivered. I also buy organic stuff in bulk from the local wholefoods warehouse.

Please don't hate me. I also think a crisp sandwich is a balanced meal.

Me again!

Just feeling really really excited and euphoric today at the prospect of having a baby.

Felt I had to share. Tis nicer than the middle of the night nightmares.

CharlotteVV · 03/06/2009 12:43

A shared portion of chips, pref. after 12am. Guaranteed Goodtimes!

Cosmosis · 03/06/2009 12:44

of course a crisp sandwich is a balanced meal - one in each hand. boom-tish.

SarahAbroad · 03/06/2009 12:54

Oh God, I'm fancying crisps like you wouldn't believe now. With a chocolate button chaser perhaps....

I am amongst the hordes of women ovulating this week.... In an effort not to get too obsessive, I haven't been charting the temperature, peeing on a stick etc (we're only on cycle #2 and this is the first one where we've actually been at home and not on honeymoon), so we've just decided to go with the "most women ovulate between CD10 and CD16" and go for it (we might add a couple of days in as margin for error) . Needless to say, DH is thrilled, although I must say that the whole thing doesn't feel very spontaneous when it's so goal oriented.... And the whole pillow under the hip thing....

skihorse · 03/06/2009 12:55

donttrythisathome a broken heart in 99 so I packed my bags and ran away to a far, far away land. (Dover - oostende ferry)

donttrythisathome · 03/06/2009 12:57

I only did the whole pillow thing once for a few minutes - I've read it's not necessary.

OP posts:
skihorse · 03/06/2009 12:57

Btw - I meant to say. The fertility clinic phoned yesterday - she's referred me to a dietician to lose this 2 stone. So I said to her "actually I'm doing quite well, I've lost 1.7kg in the last 10 days". Big intake of breath and an "oh. That's very fast".

Damned if you do & damned if you don't right?

Well even though I don't need a dietician - what I need is for someone to follow me around the supermarket taking the Ben & Jerrys out of my trolley... I'm going to have to go along and look willing so they can't write in my notes "addicted to hobnobs".

donttrythisathome · 03/06/2009 13:00

Skihorse (went with your full and proper name seeing as you did) thanks, my nose is now happy.

I'm going to the chippie now for lunch. Might buy a loaf of plastic white bread on the way.

Does it get any better??!

I had a whole big what-am-I-doing thing today while I was waiting for the tube. Something to do with giving birth to something you nurture and love and give to only to have it turn round in 15-16 years time resenting the fact that you exist, making your life an utter misery and then accusing you, whether rightly or wrongly, of being shit and ruining their lives cos you are not absolutely perfect and do everything for them.

Damn those second thoughts. I thought I had morning sickness this morning, but I just needed a big burp.

Cosmosis · 03/06/2009 18:27

at the burp!

Woop-de-doop ladies, I seem to have a period! I know I should not want one, but I'm still pleased as it shows I'm getting back to normal. Only 43 day cycle this time.

VeryAnnieMary · 03/06/2009 18:36

Yay Cosmo - great progress!

My "morning sickness" is usually too many biscuits. Ditto the lumpy belly.

Cosmosis · 03/06/2009 18:54

My sore boobs are generally caused by me prodding them to see if they are sore.

triggerhappybaby · 03/06/2009 19:10

My sore boobs are generally caused by my DP playing radio tuners with my raspberries.

SarahAbroad · 03/06/2009 19:55

cosmo, great news about the return to regularity....

trigger, I usually have those thoughts too--especially when I go to the grocery store.

I have heard of women not noticing that they are pregnant until they are 4 months in... I wonder if we imagine symptons enough we might make ourselves pregnant. Okay...wishful thinking. Sigh.

Chocolatepenny · 03/06/2009 20:10

Hi Everyone
Can a ' at 34 I am too old for another' join? I have a 2 year old son but recently had a MC this set me thinking about leaving it later to try again.
What the Hell is the attraction of two kids close together anyway? do we all now how much work they are etc etc or maybe?? arrrghhh I am so confused!
Why does everybody have a point of view on this? by the way what are your points of view on this?
Confused and probably mental.

triggerhappybaby · 03/06/2009 20:13

Can I just say, I don't have a point of view on this!! Well.... only that I wouldn't want the slog of a newborn and a toddler both at the same time but that's a personal opinion only

donttrythisathome · 03/06/2009 22:42

I don't have a POV either chocolatepenny

As you can probably tell, that is a complete lie.

I think a 4 year gap sounds good - less sibling rivalry, more time for "secure attachment", not to mind easier for you etc.

OTH whatdefeck would I know?!

Good news Cos

laurielou · 04/06/2009 08:02

Morning ladies,

Love the boob commentary - thanks for that information.

chocolatepenny my "non" POV would be go for it, close age gap is nice. There's only 5 years between me, brother & sister - OK we probably drove my mum insane when younger but its great now.

(Realise that probably doesn't inspire you as I'm 36, bro 34 & sis 32).

By the way, I have no children = no idea what I'm talking about!!

Did my first ever OV test this morning - eek! Already seems a bit clinical. DP height of romance - "Is it a pee on a stick day?"

Lizkin · 04/06/2009 14:07

Hello, can I join?

I'm 34, trying for number 1, been reading up on it all and there's so much I never realised about pregnancy + babies!

Like Skihorse, also in the Netherlands - must say I think it'll be a nice place to bring up kids, all bikes and home births etc.

I agree with DontTry - cheap chocolate is the best (mm, time for afternoon cuppa with choc I feel!)

Cheers all,

triggerhappybaby · 04/06/2009 14:21

Hi Lizkin - I also, rather naively, never realised it was such a complicated subject

My thinking went a little like this:

"oh...er..crap. I appear to be pregnant. I'm 35. Ah bugger it, what on earth can go wrong."

That'll learn me.
