leonifay · 02/05/2009 18:38

lol, its not a problem i just thought you were going to refuse to put me on till i had taken a test! still havent bought one though i've been putting it off all day and dh just says i should wait for my af

Blocka · 02/05/2009 19:27

Thank goodness you're back - I thought you might of sloped off to the Feb bus feeling unloved!

Maybe your DH is right, sometimes patience is a virtue. But having said that, men just don't understand, do they.

You should do what you feel is right for you x

kittykat765 · 02/05/2009 19:41

Hi leonifay
I was very amused by your latest post re your DH. Waiting for af isn't a bad idea in theory and would save women everywhere a fortune on HPT's. It's not such a great idea if you are pg though, how long are you supposed to wait for? Until a bump appears!

Hope we get some more BFP's soon, it's quite a small crowd on the January ante-natal thread.

Higglepig · 02/05/2009 20:03

evening ladies,

Been absent for a while so many congrats to the BFPs - fab to get some good news.

I've been useless at tracking my cycle, doing temps, OPKs etc this month. Have a vague idea that I'll be ovulating sometime this week so going to try and BD frantically (as often as DH's working hours will allow) and hope for the best.

leonifay - hope you've plucked up the courage to buy a test, fingers crossed for a BFP

leonifay · 03/05/2009 07:27

morning all, well i took a test, and now i'm all confused! i took one last night and there was a definate second line, but it wasnt really strong so i thought that i would take a second test this morning and there is a very very very faint line, more like an evaporation line. but how can it be positive yesterday and negitive today? surley as it was fmu it should be stronger?
well now i still dont know and i'm going to have to convince dh i need a digital test!

kittykat i think my dh would very much like me to wait untill there is a bump, he would also like me not to buy the opk's as he doent think i need them as 'women have been conceving for thusands of years with out them'. i just tell him that its important to me so should be important to him!

potatofactory · 03/05/2009 07:54

feeling premenstrual today, which I'm guessing is not a good sign - some period-pain-type twinges too, but I think I had these last time a bit when I was pregnant.

My pregnancy test cost £1.94 from Wilkinson's (for two) so I'm guessing it won't be ESPECIALLY sensitive. I'll hold fire for now!

potatofactory · 03/05/2009 07:55

BTW, leonfay - surely a line is positive, and that's that? Too early for congrats??

potatofactory · 03/05/2009 07:56

sorry leonifay

skihorse · 03/05/2009 08:25

I have to get off the bus.

sazlocks · 03/05/2009 10:15

Hi Leonifay - I think a line is a line so sounds like congrats to me

I have embarked on my week or so of BDing hoping that I will either ovulate this month or find out via the blood tests that I am not ovulating and get referred back to infertility treatment world

hello good luck to others BDing and 2 w waiting for the last places on the Jan bus

leonifay · 03/05/2009 16:19

i've just taken another 2 tests and again there is a faint line on both, so i'm going to take that as a BFP!

good luck to everyone else on the 2ww and thoes who are bd at the moment.
skihorse i'm really sorry you have to leave the bus, i hope you get your bfp soon. a very un mn (((hugs))) to you

Chalkpink · 03/05/2009 16:38

Congratulations leonifay.
Fantastic news!

skihorse · 03/05/2009 16:54

Thank you leonifay and big congrats to you.

I don't know about anyone else but the first 24 hours of a new cycle are always a big kick in the teeth... then I calm down and think "oh well, it's a month further towards mo money, mo this, mo that"

Blocka · 03/05/2009 17:55

WoooooooooW!!!! Leonifay !!! Congratulations!! Maybe I need to start kicking other poeple off the bus - it seems to have done the trick!!

I am over the moon for you - well done!!!

DesertFairy · 04/05/2009 06:12

Congratulation Leonifay!!!

Not been around much but just wanted to asked all those reaching the day AF is due are you going mad yet? I certainly am.... I'm symptom spotting like mad and the wait is now driving me mad!

Also, I was sent the link to this website www.fertilityplus.org/faq/opk.html which has great info on it..... But I did read that at my age I've only got a 10% chance of conceiving in any given month!... So a bfp is very likely and I'm now a depressed little teddy bear!

potatofactory · 04/05/2009 07:11

10%? That's not at all encouraging. I am symptom spotting too, but as the symptoms are like an approaching period, that's not much good...

I SWEAR my boobs are a bit more tender than usual though...

DesertFairy · 04/05/2009 07:11

That meant to read....

So a bfp is very UN-likely and I'm now a depressed little teddy bear!

earlynite · 04/05/2009 17:00

blocka BDing not going well. Did the deed Fri CD14 and Sat CD15. Last night DH was out and I was fast asleep by the time he got back. Now I have a stinking cold and I am really not in the mood. Do you think I have missed the boat?

Blocka · 04/05/2009 18:32

I don't think so - I guess it depends when you ovulated - do you know? I would maybe try again tomorrow night as well, there is a link in one the conversations above that recommends leaving it for one day and then doing it again but it depends on when you ovulated.

My BDing not going great, either. Did it on Thursday, Friday and Sunday but (TMI alert) I had been poorly all week so had no energy for a build up (if you know what I mean) and we just got straight down to it. I'm sore now, though, so that will teach us. I might try again tomorrow night, not sure what good it will do!

Keep at it - it can't hurt (well in my case, it can!)
