dh and I are having a last push at ttc. we are giving it either a year or another mc before we give up (haven't told gp ) so i have decided to reopen the anti-testing thread!

I have found a new way of coping, if my AF comes I get to have a glass of wine and if it doesn't then well you know

I have three tests and they have all gone silent, they can't win against the wine bottle you see.

[stick tongue out smiley] at the test, I don't need you until a week on monday and if I don't need you then I shall have had a lovely glass of red!

Did that sound convinsing?

pmsl,, totally. i have a hpt fund and i put the money i would have spent on hpts into a jar for new shoes etc. i still have to test post-period, but i get new shoes!

Hello girls, this is a lovely supportive thread.
Scorpio - any news today?
I am new to this and its good to see a 'dont test' thread - I had no idea how much the early testing could do my head in!!
Am on cd31 (av cycle 30, from 27 to 34 though). Have done about 8 HPTs in the last 3 days and all BFP but very faint. No sign of AF yet and bbs sore. Aaaaaaaaggh. I know I just need to be patient - its sooo hard!

oh god a whole week. That would mean being 8 days after af due date!! You are cd35 but what is your normal cycle length? And when you going to test?

Im first cycle post mc, but ususal cycles 34 days ish, though 36 not unusual. i only had 3 periods since dd born April 08 (BF delayed them) and then i got pg, so im not sure really what to expect.

I have had 3 dc and been pg 4 times, and i KNOW im not pg now.

In all seriousness, when is the best time to test, I know it after AF due, but 1day or 7 days?

If latter I am not sure I have the patients for that

Thats OK, phew.
My cycle has always been 28 days, last month turned into 25 days, so I am leaving it till the 29th day if no sign then I will test. HOW GOOD AM I? Are you convinced? hope so cos that will make at least one of us .

29th day is allowed

you must not have test in house until evening of 28th day, and then you must give it to DH/P to present you with on morn of 29th day using FMU. Thou shalt not squint at test or dissect or hold to light.

Yeah I noticed that! I only dared to post because its cd31 so normally af would be here. I admire your patience!! Do you know what the faint thing means?? I shouldnt have done them as now I am wondering about it loads .. if I really was preg I thought the line should have got darker by now .. Hmm, this is why not to test I guess LOL

I have 8 in the drawer - special offer! If am not preg, then next month I am taking advice from you ladies and not having them in the house at all. The wait is awful, I would have gone crazy without the internet - thank you! - this is the first time I have posted though. blush.

Have been reading this thread lots over the past few days and your all so supportive its lovely! Hope its ok for me to come join you.?
Its taken me 4 days to figure out all the acronyms. Im fighting the urge to buy a test as i know its too soon, its only our first month of TTC. Been of the pill for 1 1/2 years and hoping all be ok .
I think im cd19 and about 3 dpo. How soon would i notice any symptoms or should i just wait till AF is due and see if it comes? Sorry if i sound silly am new to all of this and have acronym page open whilst typing this!

Hi - Just found this thread after posting about a possible implanatation bleed and thought I'd ask you to tell me not to test yet.

I've had a possible implanatation bleed on day 23 and AF is not due till Tuesday. I was pregnant last year but didn't show positive till a week overdue.

Please tell me to step away from the clearblue test in the bathroom - the first one and the contigency spare.....

Hi Liskey, new to this thread but as no one seems to be about i'd follow what everyone has said, try to not take it till after AF due date has passed .

Leave the clearblue where it is for now as i figure the longer you leave it the more BFP u'll get...

Cheers for that Shirley - I know it logically as well but its sooooo tempting isn't it! I posted on mn last year about my mmc(but under another name)and everyone is lovely.

Being on the pill won't affect your ability to conceive - i was on it fo2r about 10 years. I think CD19 is a bit too early for any signs so far - hold out we'll be strong together!

just told my DH that i dont think this month will be the month as i can't figure out all this Ovulation days etc as i've only just started taking notice of exact days of cycle. On a plus note lots of trying just incase as DH has decided he wants one now .
Lets wait and see together and im staying clear of any tests until AF is due at least....

hello, its always good to see newcomers! liskey, i second shirleys advice. always leave it for as long as possible, the chances of getting an accurate result before your period is due are shockingly low, even with "early result" tests such as first response and clearblue. even if yoyu do get a bfp at 10dpo+ chances are that its will be a wishy washy line. which will make you want to test again, and again, and again until you either get a clear bfp (14dpo+) or your period comes.

seriouslyas a reformed test addict, no good comes of early testing. it doesnt make you any more pg. doesnt mean you get to meet your baby any earlier and is just a waste of money!!

Day 19 is not too early to spot symptoms, it might be too early to have any but it is never too early too spot them, I spot symptoms the day after my AF has finished, which I think may well be far too early

I wont test till then i promise! Plus i cant complain this is only the first month of ttc.
