Have been ttc now for 17 months - cycle is more or less 26 days, and I assumed that I should be bding on day 12 but do you think it would be possible to get pg by doing the deed on day 10 and furthermore for me to be experiencing feelings of morning sickness as early as day 18? For the last three mornings I have woke up with terrible headaches and today I have been feeling really grotty all day with terrible waves of naseau and no appetite (which is really not like me).

From my extensive (!) research, I think quite a lot of women don't have a luteal phase of 14 days, I know mine is usually only 9 but some women have up to 16 I think. Soooo if yours is 16 days, you would have ovulated on CD 10 and could have implanted on say CD16 and so technically could have hormones running round your body from a couple of days after that. So I would say yes, it is possible. I found charting was the best way of telling when I ovulate, as fertilityfriend works it out for you. Good luck!

more weird symptom spotting going on (now on cd 22) - still having headaches in the morning but boobs are no longer sore. Yesterday I felt really awful and thought I was coming down with flu - I ached all over, was burning up then was freezing cold, head was pounding. Went to bed at 6pm feeling terrible but by 11pm all symptoms had dissappeared??? Feel fine today except I have now developed this terrible itching all over my body - no rash, just itching. I know I sound like a complete hypocondriac and it's a weird mixture of symptoms but I'm forever hopeful and just wondered if anyone has experienced similair x

Anyone?

OP posts:
nunnie · 16/02/2009 12:33

Hello, the burning up and freezing cold does sound more like flu or similar, but I am no expert.
I know it is hard I have also been trying for my second child for 17months, the first took 4 years, hang fire and keep your fingers crossed, stay hopeful.

Have you spoken to your GP, about the length of TTC? I have blood tests tomorrow to check all is functioning as it should be, might be worth a visit if your af comes on time.

Alibobster · 16/02/2009 14:38

Thanks nunnie - I am curently undergoing hospital checks - had bloods taken before xmas but still waiting on results and have another appt in 2 weeks - fingers crossed for you too x

Still here, still symptom spotting - did a FR yesterday and it was a BFN. I'm still feeling eally tired and still not much of an appetite. AF is due tomorrow or Saturday and I was planning to do another FR test tomorrow? Am I daft?

OP posts:
amelied · 20/02/2009 14:39

Hi Alibobster

I wouldn't say you were daft I would say you are just like the rest of us and anxious for a BFP ...

I have been trying to conceive first child for over 3 years now and have had 3 miscarriages. With the second and third pregnacy, I fell pregnant when we through the OPK's away (and I admit, my excel spreadsheet ).

My AF ends on day 4/5 so we start to BD from Day 6, every second day, until Day 22.
My consultant told me we where being too technical and the pressure and stress is the main thing why I am not falling pregnant. We followed her recommendation of every second day starting Day 6 or Day 8 if AF is still in town and twice it has happened for us quickly.

Just waiting for AF to arrive after my last miscarriage 4 weeks ago so I can start taking Clomid (due to my age - 40 )

Good luck to you x

amelied · 20/02/2009 14:39

that should be "threw" not through - Doh!

katster37 · 20/02/2009 15:42

Any news yet alibobster?

Alibobster · 22/02/2009 21:00

Hi everyone, sorry for late reply. Did another FR test on Friday but it was a BFN. Still no AF though - felt as if it was definately coming on today but nothing so far. Amelied I am so sorry to hear what you have been through - it is so kind that, even though you have been through a horrendous time of it you still take the time to give me encouraging replies to my posts. I really, really hope things work out for you xx

Hi Alibobster - not at all, if my experiences can help anyone one on here then I am happy to help.

I hope things work out for you too

Alibobster · 23/02/2009 21:55

Alibobster · 24/02/2009 20:23

Me again- AF still no show but don't really have any syptoms anymore apart from tiredness and increased appetite, which I don't think is a good sign. If not here by Thurday will test again

OP posts:
amelied · 25/02/2009 17:24

Hi Alibobster

Good luck with the testing tomorrow!

Sorry, Alibob

Might I suggest you try temping this cycle?

All you need is a digital (oral) thermometer and a pen and paper. If you do this you will be able to clearly see when you are ovulating in your cycle.

I took 13 months TTC dd1, I temped throughout and learnt so much about my body including that I usually ovulate on day 19 so following the textbook advice of ttc from day 10 onwards didn't really work for me. TTC no2 I used the same method and this time it only took five months.

I can recommend the website www.fertilityfriend.com there is a short 'tutorial' on there about how to temp and what it will show you.

Best of luck to you and hope you get your BFP soon!

guineamango · 26/02/2009 16:39

oh it's hard isn't, treat yourself to a good cry and a glass of wine! Then pick yourself up and try again next month. That's what I'm doing xx

Alibobster · 26/02/2009 17:16

Thanks guys for your kind messages of support.AnnasBananas I think I will give that a go this month as I don't really know when I ovulate. I'm going to hospital on Wednesday for follow up appointment so I'll see what they say. Guineamango do you think it will be ok for me to have a few drinks even though my AF hasn't arrived yet? I've read all these threads about women who get BFN's but then get a BFP two weeks after AF due? I am supposed to be going out on Saturday afternoon with DH for dinner and a few drinks and after this failed month I was quite looking for to a few vinos to cheer me up but now i'm a bit uncertain

OP posts:
guineamango · 27/02/2009 08:34

ooh it's a difficult one. If no AF maybe hold off. Or just have a small glass. Good luck, hope you get your BFP soon

amelied · 27/02/2009 12:38

Hi *Alibobster" - Im so sorry - this conception malarkey is just pants isnt it?? We start off so hopeful then....

Enjoy your evening and have a glass or two

x

Alibobster · 27/02/2009 16:23

Thanks guys - I shared a bottle of rose wine with DH last night and woke up this morning feeling rough - normally this wouldn't have any affect on me. I've come to the decision that I'm not acting as if I'm pregnant until the HPT says so! Good luck to you two, I really wish you all the best x

OP posts:
guineamango · 28/02/2009 08:56

Good for you! Nice to treat yourself even if you have a slight hangover for your troubles!
Any sign of AF yet?

Alibobster · 28/02/2009 11:05

Guineamango and Amelied - I got a BFP this morning. I'm still in shock!!!
