Hi just wondered if people ttc on Clomid wanted to join this thread unless i have been stupid and missed one.

We are due to fertility clinic on 22nd and expect to go on clomid again.

We have 2 dc. Ds1 is nearly 9 and was concieved without fertility help. THis was a big surprise as have PCOS and was told would never conceive naturally.

Ds2 was conceived after 1 course of clomid 50mg. My day 21 test was awful and still no period after 45ish day. Was put on progesterone to induce bleed. Didnt happen as was pregnant.

Was also on metformin but not currently, waiting for all clear next week. I have dodgy lft generally on medication and also bfing.

Ds2 is 1 now and still breastfeeding. Hoping this will not hinder any treatment as really want to continue this too. I am now 33 so fertility decreasing too.

I dont have a cd currently as all up the shoot so waiting to see what happens really.

Good Afternoon Everyone,

Hope you are all ok. Did you all have a good valentines day? I was working till lunch time then went for a bit of retail therapy and bought lods (not) I came back with 8 batteries for the kids Wii remotes lol. But still it got me out the house. Myself and DH don't do valentines day as we think it's too commercial and we love each other just as much on that day as all the rest lol. That sounds so sad but you know what I mean.
I'm feeling more positive than through the week, period has gone although I'm still having stomach cramps and have been for nearly 3 weeks now. All different pains and level of pain. But I'm not too concerned as I'm sure I'd know about it if it was something serious.

I'm going to try this week and get an appt with Cons or at least GP to sort this out as as much as I waited for a referral and clomid I still feel like I have been rushed into it without much care or readiness if that makes sense. We will still be TTC this month, just without the C.

Does everybody work on this thread?? Just wondering as this job is the first that I would have to take mat leave and it's all a bit new and daunting to me.

Hope to chat to you all soon. XX

loulabell07 · 15/02/2009 15:18

Alfiemax I'm pleased to hear you're feeling better! Those stomach cramps sound awful - are those a side effect of clomid? My DH and I think the same about V day but I admit, it sweeps me away a little!

Clure I was diagnosed with pcos with blood tests. They also did an ultra sound and another procedure, which I cant remember the name of where they inserted a tiny camera to see my ovaries. It was confirmed there were no cysts but my gynaecologist still confirmed pcos. (I always found that really strange, but it seems to be true!) My other symptoms are that I find it very difficult to loose weight, (after gaining weight suddenly with contraceptive injection in 2004) Strangely enough I had no probs at all until I had that fateful injection! And irregular periods. Hope it goes well tomorrow. xx

TishB · 15/02/2009 15:29

Thanks for the baby dust BrandyBaby - lots of the same to you too!!!
BTW, just re-rad my post - sorry lots of spelling mistakes, promise I CAN spell - just typing in a rush before my DH snatches the laptop off me again!!!

millymolly83 and clure glad to hear that clomid worked for some of us - have just had 7 months of 50mg - nada! Have read on clomid website that if you are given clomid and it hasn't worked in the first 3 months, chances are it won't work - although I DO know a client of mine at my salon did fall preggers after her 6 month stock of clomd! There's hope for us yet!!

Alfiemax Hi hun, I'm a beauty therapist with my own salon which can be quite stressful at the best of times (I tell you, women are bldy difficult sometimes), I have sun/mon off but as you ladies all know, our days off aren't really days off are they - the cleaning/washing/ironing are always ready n waiting LOL!!
One thing that worries DH and I when we first started ttc 2 yrs ago was what would happen to my salon (as I worked on my own then). If we had a BFP straight away my salon would have to close for a few months - meaning no income for me at all and loss of probably all my clients . It's been a difficult time as my salon is also in a way my 'baby' and just as much as I want a baby of my own, didn't want the salon to go down! So anyway, to cut a long story short, here we are 2 years down the line, umpteen number of crappy apprentices later and still ttc!!!
Good news though is that I think (and pray real hard) that I have just found someone I can trust with the salon so am a bit less tensed about ttc in that respect 0 the fact that it ain't bl
dy 'appenin id another story altogether!!!
Anyway, we're off to the pictures, belated valentines time together as I was working yesterday - check in later all, hope you've had a good weekend!

Hi Awen mummycat stac14 loulabell and dawni* and all else I have missed!!

TishB · 15/02/2009 15:40

PS Am going to get down to it and do my list for the gynae appt. on wed.

If anyone has any more pointers they would be so much appreciated.

Lots of BabyDust to ALL

Clure · 15/02/2009 17:20

Tish wishing you luck for your appt on weds, I've got my list though still needing to add to it as I think of things.
The main things I will be finding out about are hormone levels (prog, FSH, LH and poss others-can't remember as I had to have it done on day 2 of period and that was so bloody LONG ago!!) How about you? Hoping your salon and staffing situation work out for you

Alfie you sound more positive, good for you not being railroaded into things you are not ready for. I teach part time, used to be full time till DD came along. Its handy being part time now as I can try to fit in appt on days off or whilst DD in nursery

Hi to all

mummycat1 · 15/02/2009 20:37

Hello,

had one of THOSE moments earlier. A close friend came over and told us that his dp is pregnant! We were really congratulatory and giving hugs and stuff. Chatted to him for ages as there are complications and this wasn't planned, but after a while, I noticed that I was shaking! Nevertheless, we'll be there for them - and they don't know our troubles. Wish I could have a happy accident!

TishB you are scaring me now with that 3 month statistic! I'm on month 3!

Lots of babydust to everyone else

BrandyBaby · 15/02/2009 21:08

loulabell07

I take ttc seriously? so I need to know what is going to help my chances! Lots of baby dust to you!!!

TishB
I understand... its not that big of a deal.( we all are trying to rush and type on here!

BrandyBaby · 15/02/2009 21:30

mummycat1 ( sorry so long)

I know exactly what you are going through!!! My close friend accidentally got pregnant for her second child!!! And she cant even afford her first kid! And she was even trying, and I have been trying for months! And she knows that-well I think everyone knows it. And two other close friends of mine both got pregnant ?accidentally? a couple of months ago and both told me in the same week!!! I flipped out. I was so upset. But it gets worse... BOTH of them decided that they didn?t want to keep the baby and both of them got abortions!!! I was so emotional that I haven?t spoken to the both of them in months. They knew that I have been trying for so long to get pregnant. They both knew that I so badly want to be a mother and to have a family... And they tell me their pregnant just to then go on and have an abortion!!! I was so sick to my stomach for weeks after that. So I do understand all to well what you are going through. I here for you. And I just know that we both will be blessed... When the right time comes.

Baby dust to all!!!! And to me!!!

Clure · 15/02/2009 21:42

Brandybaby that's so incredibly tough, I really really feel for you

babydust........

TishB · 15/02/2009 22:00

Hi Clure Compared to some on this thred/website I'm a bit clueless with all this hormone business and all the vits/herbal teas etc that BrandyBaby was kind enough to explain all about!!

Had my blood test were done long ago on main CD21/23 before I was prescribed clomid. Then had clomid 50mg on CD2-CD6 and that month had an ultrasound and blood test CD21 - that's it!
I have never had any bloods on other days but I gather that it really helps to understand your cycle a bit better so I shall def be asking about that - BUT goodluck to you for tomorrow!!!

Hey mummycat soorry babe - you will hopefully be the one to put that theory to bed!!! Lots n lots of luck to you this month hun, keep your spirits up - of course you'll be upset, it's normal, doesn't make you a bad person.

Brandybaby that's awful - but you are so right, everyone's time will come when it's right for us. Your friends may only realise later in life and regret their actions - I would have thought knowing your situation and how much trouble you're having and how badly you want it, they would have realised how blessed they are! Don't you worry...don't think about them if it gets you down, you've got better things to concentrate on, just think positive!!!

Lots of luck to you too - and to everyone else!
Night night x x x

AlfieMax CD6
Awen CD9
brandybaby CD9
Dawni CD9
Mummycat CD16
Tishb - CD21
clure CD43
Loulabell07 - CD47
stac14 CD - Day 3 Progesterone

Is that right??

Tishb - hi - the stuff about clomid not working in first 3 months means they would then need to adjest doseage to a level so it does work. They only let you tak it for max 12 months as there may be some links of long term use and ov cancer though this is disputed.

I am get aches down low in the ovary region. I either need poo or my ovaries are doing something.

hi Awen hope you're right, don't fancy taking 5 months more of clomid but looks likely that I will be prescibed it for another few months at a higher dosage - hope it works!!

babydust to all x x x

stac14 · 15/02/2009 22:47

Hey everyone
Been a busy night on here again lol

I know how you feel ladies about others getting pregnant, my cousin anthony left hif fiancee pregnant and with their first chid and now has his new fiancee pregnant all in the space of a year, I have been so mad especially as she is due the day before my 30th, needless to say I dont see them much lol. Its not that I want to be jealous and mad about people having kids, its just so hard when we are all struggling. Anyway enough of my ranting.

Good luck Awen with the bfing

Off to bed now, wil pop on later xoxox
lots and lots of baby dust

BrandyBaby · 15/02/2009 22:51

Clure

Thank hun... Going through that just made me want it that much more!

TishB

I?m glad that I helped out. In the beginning I didn?t know much. So it?s good to ask questions and know the facts. I try and not to think of them or what they did. I do try and stay as positive as I can. But at times (sometimes) when I am alone or laying in bed at night before falling asleep... I have anxiety or panic attacks. I think ?What if I never get pregnant?? or ?What if I never become a mother??. I know I shouldn?t think like that but, its my worse fear. I?m just glad that I have you ladies to talk to and go through it together.

Awen

You are right... You and I are on day 9 together! You are having ovary pains today? On Day 4 I had blurred vision, dizzy, and light-headedness. Day 5 ovary pains. Day 6 extreme ovary pains. What day do you normally ovulate on?

loulabell07 · 15/02/2009 22:52

brandybaby & mummycat - Feels like an endurance test when you get news like that, doesn't it. I work in a bank, with mostly lots of other woman around my age group, of which 3 have had their babies, 4 are on maternity leave waiting to have their babies and another 2 have just announces they are expecting! That leaves me and a 60 year old who are nowhere near close! And I have been trying the longest by far! I'm approaching 30 and in a very stable relationship, no debt (except the mortgage) so in a better position, you could say than any of the others; as none have both in their favour. I try to be happy for them but I admit that I sometimes ask myself how this is fair? I was adopted as a baby - I wonder if I will ever have a blood relative? It's not really about that though.. Oh I'm going on!

Wishing you all a successful week!

Good night xx

BrandyBaby · 15/02/2009 22:56

Stac14

I can't even spend time with my best friend and her children because I always cry when I see her! I so badly want what she has... a family. I know that with all of us ladies helping each other, that we can get pregnant soon!

loulabell07

I totally know what you are going through! My one friend is so poor and they have no money at all! And she get pregnant with baby #2. This ticks me off. And I agree with you...how is this fair???? Women get pregnant that don?t even want children, or can?t afford them, or don?t even have a job! I keep going on and on as well. Baby dust to us all!!!

loulabell07 · 15/02/2009 23:12

And babydust to you too Brandybaby and to everyone!xxx

BrandyBaby · 15/02/2009 23:13

Awen

Do you use ovulation predictor kits? What days do you take your dose? And what days do you take them on?

BrandyBaby · 15/02/2009 23:14

loulabell07

Thanks... I'm going to need it.

MamaMaiasaura · 15/02/2009 23:16

I dont use ov predictor as they are unreliable with the clomid. I take 100mg clomid days 2-6. This is cycle one on this so hopinh it works. Will have bloods day 21. If i have ov'd then will be increasing dose i think and having scan done too.

BrandyBaby · 15/02/2009 23:26

Awen

OPKs have worked for me every month. The 7 months before I used clomid, and then then 4 months on 50mg of clomid, and now 100mg of clomid. So why do you think that thry don't work? My doctor was the one that told me to use them as well. I have never had a problem with them... it has only helped. How long have you been taking clomid on days 2-6? Have you tried any other days?

Baby dust to you!!!
