Hi Bump, don't be silly it's not your fault. My firefox sometimes totally crashes when I open a pdf file. How are the hormones? Are you feeling OK?
This is the link I was trying to open.
To tell you the truth I don't know if it is relevant, but it sounded quite positive.
I have just reread the last post I made and it is verging on illiterate. I had meant to ask about mouth breathing when you sleep Juicy, it just came out all wrong.

fifitot · 26/02/2009 08:19

Where is everyone these days? Haven't seen or heard from quite a few people for a while now. You know who you are! What's happening?

vonsudenfed · 26/02/2009 12:03

haven't been around that much, partly as I don't know enough to give anyone any useful information, so can't say a lot to help.

And also because one side effect of the due date has, I think, been to make me a bit more pessimistic/realistic. Given that we're not going to go for IVF or anything, I think the chances are quite low, so I've sort of resolved to just get on with my life, do some work, try and get an interesting contract, do some writing, go on holiday to Italy in September and so on and so on. I may even buy a bicycle.

rowingboat I really hope Hungary works out for you. And that Brighton is good for you too juicylucy. May they both be good trips and fun too. bumpless that sounds excellent - what's the next stage?

Curlylox · 26/02/2009 14:01

Not a regular but do post every now and then and lurk a little too
Anyway think I last posted that DH had finally agreed for us ttc for our last child but had a few problems with my back. Have since had a procedure done on my back last month, which have improved things for me
So the plan is to finish my last packet of the pill, continue to lose some weight am in my 2nd week lost 3lb in 1st week and religiously do all the exercises my physio and pilates teacher gives me do and to hopefully have a positive reading on a pg test by the end of the year!

Bumpless · 26/02/2009 14:16

Rowing, thanks, that link is really interesting and is the first I've seen that hints at there being a point to this! Thank you for the confidence-boost, I really want to have faith in my doc...

VSF, so sorry you're feeling . I'm sure you're right to get on with having a fulfilling life, but you don't sound happy about giving up on your dream either. I can't remember what your reasons for not doing IVF were - is that avenue definitely not for you? Big virtual hug to you and I hope that the right thing to do for you becomes clear. Maybe just some time to get past the due date, and all the sadness surrounding it, will help.

Hi Curly, well done with the weight loss! I shed 2kg when I first gave up drinking but it seems to have come back, which seems very unfair!

tetleytea · 26/02/2009 14:38

Hi rowingboat, having day 21 test done tomorrow (on day 20 as it's a friday, hope that's ok...). My temp finally went up this morning so am hoping i have actually ov'd.

But the opk is still + !! Unbelievable! Dunno what's going on

....and no...I'm not pregnant without realising it...! i wish

nanbred · 26/02/2009 20:29

Hello everyone, just checking in. VSF I think you should trust your instinct. Keeping up the intensity is really hard. I've been ill, and i'm sure the stress of ttc isn't good for us all. Like the sound of the bike, just got mine serviced in anticipation of a nice spring. Rowing, you go girl! Budapest is great for everything, nice river, shops, clean, friendly. Lots of restaurants, have you got a Rough Guide or similar? I found the language issues a bit challenging at times, a phrase book could be useful, you've probably got some gadget to instantly translate I suspect. Very excited for you.
All you FFers,(does that sound indelicate?), how engrossing is this site? Great news of pgs. I still don't have any lines, temps all over place, but suspect from chart and CM it's ov day tomorrow. DP out tonight so will have to try to stay awake long enough to take advantage.

rowingboat · 26/02/2009 22:28

Hi everyone, thank you for all the support.
I hope you get some answers soon Tetley, you should know something by Tuesday. Do you have an appointment to discuss the results?
Things are all going a bit poo here. I might have to move the appointment and I think the bloke is going to get fed-up with me.
Somebody at work is on annual leave the day I want to go to Budapest. I have been trying to arrange cover, but no takers so far. Bum!
The other option he gave me was the 20th of March, which is a Friday.
Why is this happening! I'm such a dope for not checking, I work on three different sites and always have trouble with annual leave.
Grrr!
I'm glad that report meant something to you Bump. I thought it looked good, but didn't really understand it.
VSF, I don't blame you for taking a break. I've done that as well, and then come back refreshed. It can drive you batty this whole thing, nothing like refocusing.
Nan get that coffee on so you can leap from behind a door when you DP gets back. Actually, that might not put him in the mood.

fifitot · 27/02/2009 08:53

Hi everyone. I am only on 6dpo (which for me is around 4 or 5 days before AF due) and I feel like crap. Got bad PMT, really irritated and tearful. So I know AF must be on it's way. Gutted - again.

rowingboat · 27/02/2009 14:18

Oh dear Fifi, I hope this passes and AF doesn't come.
Take it easy this weekend!
Sending you hugs!

fifitot · 27/02/2009 17:10

Thanks rowing. I am so grumpy. Can you get pmt and still be up the duff?

vonsudenfed · 27/02/2009 18:12

extreme grumpiness was one of the distinguishing factors of early pregnancy for me, alternating with irrational hormone-fuelled rages. It wasn't one of my finest hours...

beamel · 28/02/2009 08:47

Hi All,

Hope everyone well this weekend.
AF appeared yesterday - a day early for the first time in 25 years ! So I am back to CD2 today. Bah !
Just ordered saliva microscope - If in doubt buy another gadget !

Gynae appt is this week. Bit nervous now !

nan hope the temping thing is going better. Really hoping you see that temp rise soon .... makes it all worth it !

rowing hope you manage to get to Hungary for that appt. I had enough trouble organising one up the road so hats off to you ! FX for you.

Lots of wine and chocolate for me this weekend !

(waves to all and offers choc box round !)

Bumpless · 28/02/2009 11:46

(grabs choc box, scoffs lot, alternately swigging wine from bottle)

Well, following 5 days of feeling happy and excited, we've crashed out of the IVF cycle with a total bust of a scan yesterday. 2 cysts, one 2.5cm, and only 1 folly, and hormones all over the place. If a week is a long time in politics, it's an age in TTC. bum bum and, to coin a VSF-like phrase, bum. At least it's finally given me the push to leave this dreadful clinic and slapdash consultant.

Would it be bonkers to do some BDing anyway, that folly has to ovulate sometime...?

Boo to AF Bea (but thanks for the chocs) and good luck with the appt.

fifi, everything's crossed that this is pg-related grumps!

Nan, I hope you're having a lie-in following a great late nite last night!

Rowing, juggling your work sounds like a nightmare. Any chance you could put your foot down and say you booked it off first and colleagues should work round you for a change - or is that a no-go? Just what you don't need, on top of all the TTC stress.

nanbred · 28/02/2009 11:50

Hi Fifi, sorry you are feeling stressy at the mo. I am trying to learn to love my AF just now, at least while it keeps showing up we're in with a shout. Hoping it is an alternative scenario for you of course!

Currently, my other particular stress/obsession is around temps being flat, I am wondering if I ov at all? Trying not to think about it.

Hope you get work arrangements sorted Rowing, at least you have another date if not?

Bump, (trying to impress) can now report that I am currently 10 days without caffeine, alcohol, and non-organic food! Oh joy. Have read on FF an abdominal massage can help around ov. Another opp for a gadget purchase Beamel!

Has anyone been doing acupuncture? I have quite a severe needle phobia, so would be terrified, but am considering this option.

Bumpless · 28/02/2009 12:03

Nan, wow, go you! do you feel a warm glow of smug self-rightousness? No, neither do I... I do acupuncture and find it great - I usually feel much calmer and stronger afterwards, apart from anything else. Although I'm not exactly a great advert for the success of all this at the moment! Maybe if you explained about your needle issues they could work round it? Or you could just close your eyes so you don't see them - they don't actually hurt. But I think some therapists do acupressure rather than puncture for people who don't want to be a pincushion!

fifitot · 28/02/2009 14:42

I did acupuncture when ttc number 1 - not for fertility issues but for stomach probs (which think were psychosomatic actually as depressed after a mmc). Just made me feel better and the tcm practioner said it would balance my chi (or whatever) to get my body in harmony for a pg. I was pg within a month! Could have been coincidence suppose.

I would try it again if I wasn't so skint.

Still grumpy. BTW as am on 2ww is blue cheese out? Even if it's cooked in a sauce?

rowingboat · 28/02/2009 17:29

Bump, that's so poo! I say totally go for it, as you say there is a follicle and something has to happen. The cysts are only small and I'm sure they will disappear soon.
Do you know what happened? Do you get a refund?
I'm sorry it has gone wrong this time, but I feel confident that you can do it, just get all the info you can.
Are you on FF or any of those IVF sites? Perhaps posting on there could glean some insights into what could have happened?
My hungarian dude has offered me the day before: 10th, but he only has 12pm and that's really hard to make because the flights only get it at 11:30am. Could stay over night, but would end up being there practically the whole day on the 10th and booking into a blooming hotel. Wah!
Fifi, I'm not sure about blue cheese, it's more for you than the baby, because your immune system is lowered during pg. I don't think it would compromise a pg. But do a google just in case.
Beam, pah at AF! I would be very interested to hear how you get on with your microscope.
Nan well done on the healthy living, how do you feel?

vonsudenfed · 28/02/2009 19:28

fifitot Blue cheese is fine if cooked - the risk is listeria, rather than straight food poisoning, and this can cause miscarriage. But cooked blue/goats/soft cheese is fine as this kills he bugs.

bumpless sorry to hear about that, it's a real roller coaster, isn't it. But def do some BD'ing - it can't hurt can it.

nan If you can't face acupuncture, what about reflexology? There are lots of good success stories - and if you google, a very good woman down in the west country who specialises in fertility who has an amazing website full of good stories. It certainly worked for me after my first m/c, I've been doing it for about 8 months this time, but my cycles and hormone levels are just perfect, she tells me, I guess she just can't sort out those pesky eggs.

Does anyone know if ovulating early messes things up? I'm currently ov'ing about day 10, and keep thinking tha the womb can't be ready yet! But is this daft?

Right, in my new not caring phase I am going to have a glass of wine. See me not care.

fifitot · 28/02/2009 20:10

I think oving late is more problematic.

I had blue cheese sauce for tea - well cooked.

rowingboat · 28/02/2009 23:24

VSF, you so don't care! I can see that nonchalant expression, that bottle of gin and and that packet of Silk Cut.
Fifi, that sounds yummy, what did you have the sauce with?

nanbred · 01/03/2009 10:25

Last night vividly dreamed of a psychopath chasing me round a kitchen full of broken glass. This am dp broke glass candle holder in kitchen!!!

Will definitely give more thought to reflexology and acupuncture, but am now convinced the way to go is to try to train myself to dream of being pregnant, or even having a rising bbt?

Tasty though it sounds, cheese is out until dreams are a little less bizarre.

fifitot · 01/03/2009 15:15

I had it with roasted, chopped walnuts and peas. Mix all together with tagliatelle.

The sauce contains alot of cream though! Delicious though!

Yes nan - probably not for you with your mad dreams! BTW they say visualisation can be important in ttc so you never know!

StarPlayer · 01/03/2009 15:44

Hi all

Still lurking - just got nothing positive to say

(aka xserialshopper)

rowingboat · 01/03/2009 18:24

Fifi Yum, that sounds delicious! I have a recipe which isn't really a recipe because it's far too simple. YOu melt some blue cheese: gorgonzola, stilton whatever, then put in some finely chopped garlic then some plum tomatoes or passata - that's it! Ta da!
Did you house smell very 'fragrant' last night?
Nan, that sounds very scary. Did you wake up before anything bad happened?
StarX - you're not considering IVF are you??
