Oh dear Rainbow, that is rubbish. I hope you are OK.
COC - yes they're all me. Could there be any other reason for the low temp - you haven't been sleeping in the garden have you?
What are you taking to help the LP, I am losing track what with all the big lists of stuff.
That 5-HLT (I think) is on special at H&B until tomorrow.

StarPlayer · 25/01/2009 21:30

It's me XSERIALSHOPPER Please - I don't want to change back - I'm loving my new name

Rowing I'm glad you thought COC aka Fertility Fiend was me, as I find her posts ever so witty (and I'm definately not witty) So what's this about you worrying that you're menopausal? Get a grip girl off course you're not. Sorry about your suspected mc though.

Hi Roque - glad you're enjoying your job. Remember how you uhmmed and ahhhhed about taking it?

We've certainly had some blasts from the past posters on here Here's a link to the original thread - the very very 1st one Rachel1963 was one of the very first posters along with Cece and Roque not soon after.

fifitot · 26/01/2009 07:43

Don't know what is going on with my cycle! Doing FF which says I OVd on Friday according to temperatures but I only got a postive OPK on Friday, the preceding days were negative. Should I alter my chart. TBH my temps are a bit ropey anyway due to odd waking times.

Hope everyone OK today.

rowingboat · 26/01/2009 10:03

Hi fifi, I've never managed to do temping as I don't remember when I wake up. However as far as I know the OPK should only be positive for a short time, so it may be that there wasn't much time between the surge and ovulation. I think OPKs indicate ovulation within the next 12 - 24 hours, then you also have the time the egg is actually viable, which is between 6 and 12 hours from being released. Did you manage to BD before OV, I think the sperm has to be 'around' when the egg is released.

latestarter2009 · 26/01/2009 12:20

hi everyone..thanks for you thoughts

i hope you get some answers soon rainbow...there is nothing worse than not having a definitve answer....even if that answer might not be the desired one

i had a look at the site carryonconceiving suggested and it was really helpful....i am such a novice at this suff, I completely screwed up the first hpt I did and now I'm using an opk and am pretty crap at that as well

As I was on my honeymoon when I had my MC - I am a bit confused as I saw different doctors in different countries and wanted to see if anyone has had a similar experience - sorry if it is TMI.

I bled - more like spotting with intermittent bits of tissue - for almost 4 wks. It stopped, but last wk when i got first AF after, i had the normal 3-4 days of bleeding & seeemd to stop, but have now had 5 - 6 days of spotting again - first brown blood and tissue and now more really light pink blood. Is this normal or should I see the doc? I am ovualating this week so have been bding - is this ok?

Tabitha8 · 26/01/2009 17:21

Rainbow Sorry to hear your news.
Latestarter I had regular scans with my last mc due to its being incomplete. It took five weeks to sort itself out. Perhaps that is the case with you? In fact, my doc said the last week or so might have been a fresh womb lining coming away. I was amazed such a thing could happen.
Fifi If you take temps for long enough, you'll see a definite pattern. I've only tried an opk once and it didn't work for me (I probably used it at the wrong time).
Many congrats to Rachel, Cece and Heron!!!
Now to go and catch up on all the news I've missed. (I've managed to stop my PC crashing, which is an achievement for me).

fifitot · 26/01/2009 17:41

Thanks ladies. I have used FF in the past and it helped me to concieve DD but this time because I get disturbed sleep my temps aren't reliable. I see a pattern but the OV date varies because of this which is why I back up with OPKs. Rowing - you are right of course, I may have OVd the same day as test so will leave chart as it is. Did BD though so that's something.

latestarter2009 · 26/01/2009 18:58

thanks tabitha - i did have one scan which only showed a possible sac...the view was that nothing ever really formed.

i still don't know how to date the MC - the first day of bleeding?

vonsudenfed · 26/01/2009 19:47

Hello everyone,

I wrote a whole long post, but the computer ate it. Grrrr. Not that I can do justice to keeping up with this thread anyway.

latestarter Sorry to hear your news. I had a m/c under almost exactly the same circumstances - got pregnant v quickly at 39, and then miscarried, and was told that getting pregnant is the harder part, so the fact that you've done that is a very good sign. But neither of my m/c have gone on that long, and if they had, I think the clinic would have asked me back for a scan to make sure that it is all over. Also, have you tried taking a pregnancy test? When I miscarried, I was told to take one 10 days after bleeding stopped - then if it was +ve, it means that it hasn't all gone.

fifitot - I temp despite getting up at random times, rarely after 3 hours sleep etc etc etc (and with an in-ear thermometer, which is rubbish!) but still get a pattern out of it. To my not inconsiderable surprise.

rowingboat - I'll be interested to see if I end up clumsy(er) or more jumpy with the B6. I'm only taking 50mg, not to lengthen my luteal phase (according to FF, the last one was 21 days ) but just to avoid being deficient, which does seem to affect fertility. Am OV'ing now (right now, if you believe my pains!) so doubt the aminos can do much for me now, but here's hoping for next month.

rainbowdays Sorry to hear that. How are you doing?

Right, I'm off to make a curry. Hope everyone else is OK too.

giggly · 26/01/2009 22:44

Hi everyone, not been able to keep up with the thread as promised. I would lurk full of good intentions, but would always end up feeling really down. Despite good advice I would become totally obsessed with ttc, and could not shake it off.

I had been ttc for 14 months, had mc in Nov 08,however got a BFP last week. Feel in better health this time round than in Nov. Will be 43 when LO born but still feel like A spring chicken
We bd for 5 nights in a row, which we had not managed before so maybe this done it.

Good luck to you all.

rowingboat · 26/01/2009 23:25

Giggly, well done you!
Having sex, I didn't think of that.

fifitot · 27/01/2009 08:24

Yesh - the sex gets in the way of all the vitamins, ov tests and temping as far as I'm concerned!

fifitot · 27/01/2009 08:25

Yes I meant. I'm not drunk.

BTW well done Giggly.

StarPlayer · 27/01/2009 11:40

CONGRATULATIONS Giggly

Twiglettini · 27/01/2009 13:20

Thanks Rowing and fifitot - both your posts made me chuckle, which I needed today, having just seen GP after 2nd mc in a row. Luckily this one only at 6 weeks, which is A LOT easier to bear than previous ones at 11+ weeks. Got scan booked for Fri to check it has all gone.

Posted a while ago, but have been lurking during preg and mc for some reason. Hope everyone doing ok.

Hey Giggly, that's brill, hope it all goes ok.

Mummyfor3 · 27/01/2009 14:31

Hi, ladies, this thread has just been brought to my attention, and I wonder whether I may join??

I am 42 (for another 7 weeks ) and am hoping TC DC4 sometime this year... I had 3 early MMC before DS1, then DS2 one year later, another MMC 2 years ago, and DS3 last year. I am NOT TTC for a girl, BTW - sorry, not defensive, it just seems to be an assumption a lot of people make. I just spoke to a work colleague who had 7 boys, yikes! I just like the "symmetry" of having 4 children. Whether it is going to happen is another story of course...

So, congrats to Giggly, and good luck to all those in the same boat.

Twiglettini · 27/01/2009 14:40

Hi mummyfor3, how are you doing?

where are you in your cycle?

also, have you seen this thread for ttc#4

nice to 'meet' you

Mummyfor3 · 27/01/2009 14:46

Hello, Twiglettini!
LMP 10 days ago - OMG, must get DH to do the deed tonight! Having said that, I am TTC, not sure that he is on bored with that idea - yet!
I am really sorry, I have to be rude and leave for school run. I will be back later on. And thanks for link to TTC No4, will have look later on.
Tata!

latestarter2009 · 27/01/2009 16:05

congratulations [giggly].....lots of sticky vibes.......i had a MC in Dec so that gives me hope that I might get lucky soon

i spoke to the early pregnancy centre today and am having a scan on thursday to make sure everything is out....bit worried though as have been bding like mad and they have recommended not!

anyone else OVing this week?

Mummyfor3 · 27/01/2009 16:32

Did you know that there is good evidence (sorry cannot back it up with source) that early pregnancy monitoring with lots of reassurance scans increases the chance of successful pregn outcome??

I have had so many scans over the years I could probably perform one myself AND interpret it as well .

Tabitha8 · 27/01/2009 17:02

Congratulations Giggly. Wonderful news!
A warm welcome to Mummyfor3 and good luck for tonight!

rowingboat · 27/01/2009 17:42

Fifi - Hic! I was laughing at 'yesh'.
Welcome MummyF3 good luck tonight.
Twig have you had another MC? It sounds like everything is working for you, just a matter of time.

Juicylucytoo · 27/01/2009 19:42

Congrats Giggly Good news always great to see on here.

Sorry that a few of you are having rubbish times. I suppose it goes with the territory, ttc at "our age". Doesn't make it any easier though

Nowt to report here. About to bd tonight and tomorrow as last ditch hope of laying the seed (no pun intended) for when I ov at the weekend. DH has to leave Thurs 5am, so not sure we will manage it thurs before he goes

Alcohol abstinence best not discussed

giggly · 27/01/2009 22:54

just read back my post, serves me right for not checking I think it is hilarious. Should point out that we have had more bd in the last 14 months than we have had in the 20 years. You made me laugh rowing.

rowingboat · 28/01/2009 13:21

Juicy, hope it goes well later. When is your DH back?
Giggly, all that hard work paid off.
