Pregnant ones - do you know about this

here

here

Diege · 03/02/2009 16:13

Yes, knew about health in pregnancy grant - form requested, and already mentally spent on spa weekend (tis health-related and all).
Hadn't heard about the child benefit - assume its separate from the first one??

ScorpiowithabigS · 03/02/2009 16:16

lol @ spa - im off in July for 3 nights, whoop whoop

Yes, you must have to get a form and get it MW signed, send it off and they pay the weekly amount for a subsequent child extra into your CB payment at 29 weeks & forever more iyswim. (abou an extra £45 p/m isnt it)

Diege · 03/02/2009 16:18

Excellent!!! Almost makes it worth having a 5th...NOT!!!! Will really help, as it's true about the expenses adding up before birth (plus I may take a teeny look at the new French Connection summer stuff - just looking of course...)
Are you going anywhere glam for your spa treat SCORPIO?

ScorpiowithabigS · 03/02/2009 16:20

i think i will save it so DH can have that little bit more time off (the CB and HIPG)

Im not sure yet, going with some friends, have to book soon really!

Diege · 03/02/2009 16:23

ooh that's selfless SCORPIO . I don't think I'll even mention the cb one to dh!

ScorpiowithabigS · 03/02/2009 16:25

DH doesn't even know how much CB is, lol. I just think a few months of 45 + the hipg = another (cheap) week off

Diege · 03/02/2009 16:27

You make sure he works for it then
It's true about cb - don't think dh has an inkling how much I get paid into my account. Should really go towards childcare costs, but I just count in with my wages.

ScorpiowithabigS · 03/02/2009 16:29

I pay my nursery bill out of it - the LO either goes in general house pot or we go o na day out; get someone some shoes or clothes....someone always needs something! Once we used it to help go on holiday for all of us. Think thats ok.

Diege · 03/02/2009 16:51

You're right, there's always something that they need - shoes especially really mount up! Had a sneaky look in Clark's window at baby boys shoes - have to say I'm not impressed with colour/style choice!

Katonahottinroof · 03/02/2009 19:06

The latest in the preg/mc/not pg/mc saga

Started bleeding red blood tonight, again no pain! Typical, had got over the mc and was happily TTC again, get a BFP get all confused, then it starts again the same day!!!

I'm absolutely fine if I'm not pregnant, I was already ok with it but I give up trying to understand what's going on with my body!

Anyone with a PhD in weird bodies wanna hazard a guess? LOL

I guess I'll see what happens with the bleeding and go from there. Am thinking maybe it wasn't a complete mc last time and this is the rest?

Sorry for hijacking the thread with my weirdness.

x

ScorpiowithabigS · 03/02/2009 19:09

Oh Kat i really dont know, but you obv have HCG in your blood which indicates a pg - maybe it was partial before, and like you say, this is it. I would ring EPU tomorrow.

Nemoandthefishes · 03/02/2009 19:40

aww kat hope things are sorted soon

Diege yes same due date although by LMP should have been the 14th. Where did you request your form for the health grant thing??
Scorpio thanks for the info about childbenefit I didnt know that was coming in aswell.

rainbowdays · 04/02/2009 07:43

Kat - so sorry to hear that you have bleeding again. But I do think that you can justifiably go to an EPU now. I think that it is 50-50 this baby may be fine or you may be going to miscarry. Slow rising hcg is not a good sign in terms of pregnancy, but because you have not had blood tests it is impossible to know. You may just have ovulated late and this still be implantation bleeding. sorry that you are in this horrible limbo land.

Deige - Just want to ask a question, it is obvious that using hcg for dating purposes is useless, but surely they would take serial blood tests to look for rising/falling hcg levels still? Seems strange if they don't. I assume the dating thing has been brought on by these stupid digital tests giving weeks on them . Oh also I love the name Benjamin, but also shorten it to Ben.

Scorpio - did you buy the test yet?!
Nemo - congrats on finding out you are having DD3 great news.

Diege · 04/02/2009 08:42

Kat so sorry to hear about the bleeding. It's so hard to know what's going on - ie, it could be that you did indeed have a twin pregnancy and the bleeding is relating to that, or that it is indeed a mc - or implantation... Agree, I would say def grounds for epu now, so at least you will (hopefully) get a clearer idea of what is going on. Hold on in there, hard as it must be, we are all here for you xxx

RAINBOW, yes that's interesting about the rising/falling hcg levels. I think they would still do this on request, although only if indicated by inconclusive findings (ie, not just someone not being clear about dates etc). Even this has its problems, as some pregnancies (esp IVF ones for some reason unknown) don't always follow typical doubling patterns, and may increase slowly over a few days before tripling etc...I know HCG tracking is common in States etc - glad they don't do it here routinely - I would be more than a nervous wreck than I already am!

NEMO, I requested my form from the midwife (community) a few weeks ago. They've not had them through yet though , so will ask again when next there. Out of interest how many times do you have to see your midwife with no.4?

Right, have loads to do today - must really try not to procrastinat!

Katonahottinroof · 04/02/2009 10:02

Thanks guys,
Well only had red blood when I wiped then have had nothing else. My mw friend thinks I may have a cervical bleed (that's where I'm having twinges) or a bleed site somewhere. Think I might just hold on until Tuesday though, can't be bothered to fight for a scan and I'm so tired from hardly sleeping the last 2 nights.

Diege · 04/02/2009 11:05

That sounds reassuring KAT. Could well be from cervix, or even linked to placenta. Is it Tuesday you have a scan booked?

HeinzSight · 04/02/2009 12:44

Kat I'm sorry to hear all this is going on, how confusing for you , do you think you'll be able to wait until Tuesday? x x

sandy4 · 04/02/2009 13:51

tentatively adding myself to your list!!!!!

sandy4 - 38,DS1(19),DS2(14),DS3(5)-CD1

Trying to get the hang of ovulation piddlesticks inbetween studying for Law degree.

Baby dust to all (I'm such a lurker!!)

Diege · 04/02/2009 13:53

Hi Sandy! Welcome to the thread (sorry if you're not new, I have problems keeping up sometimes!)
HEINZ, how was you scan yesterday? Hoping everything was ok

babyblue3 · 04/02/2009 13:54

What a mess Kat. Hopefully things don't get any worse for you. Limbo is bad enough without adding a bleeder to it too. If you wait til Tuesday, hopefully the scan will finally give you some answers. But if things start to get worse, I think you have a good case to take to the emergency room. Don't be stubborn and just go!

I just spent the last 2 days suffering from a migraine! The worst since I was pg with DD2. I slept with ice packs on my head, since I can't really take anything. Today, I am back to work but feel very 'hungover'. How fair is that??? Hangover without at least the pleasure of a glass of wine!

HeinzSight · 04/02/2009 14:10

after chatting with Scorpio on another thread I thought i better post how my scan yesterday went.

Everything fine, good strong heartbeat, measurement great, they've brought my due date forward by a day! Have to confess to feeling very shocked after, still getting my head round the whole No.4 thing as you all know! Seeing bub on the screen made it all seem that much mroe real!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sandy4 · 04/02/2009 14:41

who are the carrots & who is ttc#4 ?????

sorry, am a bit thick & trying to keep up!

mrsdisorganised · 04/02/2009 15:29

Kat, been thinking of you and hope you are ok....x
Scorpio hows the wait? Have you tested again?
Heinz, must have been lovely seeing the scan.

Hello everyone else! x

Diege · 04/02/2009 15:38

Great news HEINZ!!! Has it sunk in yet that no.4 is on the way???
Hi MRSD, how are things?
SANDY, we must get another list going so we know where we're all up to.
Hi BABYBLUE, hope you get through work ok with post-migraine hangover. Know what you mean as I'm fellow sufferer - you must feel shattered.
