Hi wondered if any one else was aiming for an August baby and fancied joining me this month to pass the time. This will be our 3rd cycle of TTC now and im on CD1 but staying positive.

My details are

Gemma C, TTC#2, usual cycle length 28-32 days, cd1

Please feel free to add yourself to the list, I would love some company.

Would love to join in, having had the easiest ride on no. 1 (1st month of trying), am now on month 4 of trying for no 2 (not long I know) but wondering if I can increase my odds. Can someone explain the jargon please and any tips much appreciated.

Issy42 · 01/12/2008 23:11

Welcome K75. Basic jargon for the list is: ttc# the number of the child you are trying to conceive (so number of children you have plus 1); UCL - usual cycle length and CD - cycle day. There is also a link to abbreviations under useful info at the top of the page.

I've just injected the hcg for this month, so please if anyone catches me saying I have any pg symptoms in the next 10 days, give me a virtual slap and remind me it's just the Ovitrelle.

LollysMum1 · 02/12/2008 10:07

Hello, quick catchup from me. Congratulations to the new BFPs!

On day 21 and according to my CBFM I ovulated on days 19/20. I can't tell you how good it is to know that I have and also when! It also explains a lot - like why I've had no chance of getting preggers in the last few months as i thought i was ovulating at day 14 ish. So not BDing after about day 16 could explain a lot!!! It would be amazing of course if I was lucky this month but even if I'm not I'm just so relieved to know when I ovulate and hence why my cycle has got longer. Knowledge is a good thing and I am so pleased I shelled out for the CBFM.

To those who are having confusingly long cycles and BFPs turning to BFN - I know what a horrible time it is and you have every scenario going through your mind. This baby lark shouldn't be this difficult! Crossing everything that you get the right result soon!

girlwithacurl · 02/12/2008 10:17

Hi LollysMum1 i feel exactly the same, can't believe that I didn't realise we were BD'ing at completly the wrong time, like you I feel relieved and much more in control now that I did a few weeks ago. I would love to get a BFP for christmas though! how good would that be!

smileycat · 02/12/2008 10:23

Morning ladies, welcome K75
Well no AF yet but the day is not over, had a small temp drop this morning so think she'll be on her way later. Just worked out that if I get AF today I will be due next one around 27th so told DH to get a couple of tests in so that we can do one on Xmas day, it will either be an extra special Christmas present or we can drown our sorrows in plenty of Xmas booze & lots of sloppy cheese & buscuits yummm

LollysMum1 · 02/12/2008 12:49

Hi girlwithacurl, yes a christmas baby would be a dream come true, especially with quite a nightmare the last few months pregnancy wise. The girl I sit next to at work has just found at she's pregnant and for the first time i don't want to secretly cry when hearing the news. I would love to be pregnant at the same time as her. But if not will just have lots of positive thoughts about a fresh new year etc...

Wishing · 02/12/2008 14:32

hello everyone!

sorry babybump! hope you dont have to wait 2 long to get your answers and everythinjg crossed for you!

i have had cramps too aldies, reaslly bad once over this weekend and also had em on and off since persona said i ovulated - my friend who is 9 weeks got cramps just like af pains and was sure she wasnt pg and then was but im not trying not reading too much into this!

i am starting to think about this more now cos i really dont understand why af isnt here - everyone else on here seems to get bfp i havent read from anyone who got a bfn and then bfp??

Oh btw where has i love being a mummy gone - i just read on another thread she has a bfp???

oh and constipation has kicked in, i have read thst it is proestrogen that cause constipation which surly this is a good sign as dont you need proestrogen to make the pg sustainable?!?! can anyone give me any facts about waht happens with all the hormones etc or give me a good link that explains it as im struggling to understand what should be going on!!

Sunny dale just baby dance you behind off!!

Oh and the only reason dh sort of believes the psychic is cos my grandma told me to give him a break!! hahahahahahaha
xxxxxxx

LJ29 · 02/12/2008 15:55

Wishing, you're symptom spotting again!! Stop it you naughty girl!!!!

Progesterone is needed to make a pg sustainable but I also read on another thread that it kicks in every month to prepare your body just in case an embryo implants which is why we often confuse pre-af symptoms with pg symptoms.

Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear Wishing but I've learnt that if I don't get my hopes up and ignore all possible symptoms then its much easier to cope once af does arrive..

From me, I started spotting last Thursday night so thought af was on the way. I have continued bleeding (bright red) but it is literally only when I wipe and have not even had to use panty liners. I did a first response this afternoon and got a BFN. Not really sure when af is due because of irregular cycle but I think I ov'd on day 20/21 so with today being CD 36 thought I would either have BFP or AF by now.

Any ideas?

LJ29 · 02/12/2008 16:04

Firgit to say that I took EPO for the 1st 18 days of cycle and just wondered if this could be the reason for such light bleeding (and this really is af)?

Wishing · 02/12/2008 16:25

sorry lj29 i was told i could spot a bit now!! hahahahah im really trying not to know though your right i have to stop cos i know i would have got a bfp deep down by now!! god its once you get that bfn that its hard to take!!

I no its probly signs af is on the way but why have i never noticed all these signs for af before?!?! aaarrgghhh!!!! im hating this ttc crap!!!

bubblebell1 · 02/12/2008 17:16

hi ladies!

God im depressed... ive still not had a visit from AF. i took another test this morn and it was a bfn. what the hell is wrong with me. im really worried that something is up as i have never had this problem before. i was positive i ovulated as i had the temp rise ewcm and pains. is it possible to just not have a period and return to a normal cycle the next month as if nothing has happened? i feel in limbo. i cant really ttc as im not even at cd1 i just want to get down to it but i cant and i feel useless.

on top of this im still feeling really ill. dr has given me antibiotics but everything seems to be getting on top of me.

sorry to moan, you all have your own problems and worries and here is me feeling sorry for myself.

xxxxx

HomeintheSun · 02/12/2008 17:30

BabyBump2B · 02/12/2008 18:13

Hi ladies... Dr's test is positive - I'm definitely preggers! Thank god. Was a very sleepless night last night.

And Wishing I got a BFN and then a BFP (then 2 more BFP, then 2 BFN, then 2 BFP then Dr confirmed BFP) so it can happen. As someone said to me earlier - its not over until AF sings!

Wishing · 02/12/2008 18:19

Someone slap me and come take my laptop away!! pleeeeeaaaaaaassssee!!!

Issy42 · 02/12/2008 18:30

Excellent BabyBump - so pleased for you!

Wishing - consider yourself virtually slapped !

I'm having my IUI at 9:30 tomorrow so positive vibes in the direction of the East Midlands very welcomed ! Doing my usual worry that have already ov'd but sure it's just indigestion from scoffing my lunch too quickly earlier.

Good luck everyone - babydust your way xxx

BabyBump2B · 02/12/2008 18:39

Wishing the cm was one of the things that made me think I am. This may be a bit TMI but I don't get much ewcm when I ov but I started getting it regularly about 5 dpo. It was a bit thicker and stickier than my regular ewcm but a bit strange - even for me.

I don't know what to say - the only other 2 weird things were: my boobs seriously hurt (felt like someone put rocks in them) and our Dog knew before anyone - he started to act really protective and kept choosing to lie with his head on my lap. I've heard from a couple of people that dogs can tell almost right away because your smell changes but he's been right funny for about 10 days. Barking at the tv, always wanting to be near me - its funny!

Issy sending major vibes your way with loads of sticky baby dust!

Wishing · 02/12/2008 18:45

thanks baby bump!! congrats again glad you got sorted!!

what brands did you get the bfn with and the bfp! final qu i promise??

xxx

Issy42 · 02/12/2008 19:14

Thanks babybump. Love the dog story - how cute! My friend is pg and her partner has a heightened sense of smell and told her to test because she smelled like she did when she had her first pg.

BabyBump2B · 02/12/2008 20:28

Wishing OMG I tested so much. Ok BFN was with ClearBlue (+/-) but then the first, very faint BFP was also ClearBlue (+/-) - I've since been told they are the least reliable as they've been known to give both false negatives as well as false positives.

The we went to 2 BFPs with the Digital test. Then the 2 Dr BFN, then 2 BFPs with the || First Response (which I've been told by several people are incredibly accurate) AND I peed on a ov test as well because I've heard that you can get a positive with those! I think the digital ones are great because there is no faffing around with whether you think the line is strong or not... AF was due on Friday and I tested on Sat for the first BFP!

Hope that helps!

Wishing · 02/12/2008 22:17

thanks babybump!! that helps a lot!!

xxxx

Wishing · 02/12/2008 22:28

great now ive got piles!!!

noodle12 · 02/12/2008 22:48

Oh wishing don't give up hope I've got really happy vibes about you! Fingers and toes all crossed.

Congrats to all of you who've BFP'd in the last week. Back now from my parents, husband DELIGHTED when I told him our news. I'm just still in a bit of (delighted) shock and wondering how I'm going to get through Christmas without anyone guessing. Anyone got any good excuses for refusing a drink?!

Funny thing happened..... Had tested on sat 22nd Nov - CD23 and got a BFN, then felt hellish on Mon 24th - CD 25 - and tested and got a BFP. Cos I was at my parents I hid the testers in the bottom of my bag. When I opened them up when I got back the BFP was still showing (First Response testers) and would you believe the first test (what I thought was a BFN) now shows a very faint second in line!!! I swear it was a BFN! Just shows it sometimes takes longer than 3 mins! Check and double check them.

Anyway enough mad chat and best of very best wishes to you all xxx

smallone · 03/12/2008 08:48

wishing sorry you're having a pants time, I've much sympathy for piles, I had them when pg with dd but they've come back since I've had all my "issues".

I've had on off cramping for a couple of days, tonnes of cm and am REALLY cold, can't get warm. Had about 4 layers on yesterday plus hottie and blanket. I remember I was the same around implantation time with DD, couldn't work out what was wrong with me! Not symptom spotting honest.....more observing
