Hi wondered if any one else was aiming for an August baby and fancied joining me this month to pass the time. This will be our 3rd cycle of TTC now and im on CD1 but staying positive.

My details are

Gemma C, TTC#2, usual cycle length 28-32 days, cd1

Please feel free to add yourself to the list, I would love some company.

Wishing, that's a great story. I'm afraid I'm pretty sceptical, but if you believe those things then I'm sure you'll get your bfp soon

Suzi, good luck testing, let us know how it goes. Keeping everything crossed for you.

Spats, you've done all you can, it's just time to sit back and wait now. As regards standing up after bd... when I was having investigations for subfertility the consultant at the hospital said it's not necessary to lie with your legs in the air or anything like that. It's probably best just to lie down and have a post bd cuddle for a couple of mins and that's all you need to do. Ejaculation sends the little swimmers pretty far up anyway and there are millions of them too so if some come out it's not the end of the world. I've always felt that I want the ones that are nippy and first out the gates to be the ones that fertilise my eggs, it always makes me think of the old insult "so you were the fastest sperm your daddy had?"

SuziBhoy · 01/12/2008 14:56

okay ive done a test and got a BFN, so i am ruling out that i am pg, so i am just waiting for my AF to return so i can start again. I am going to take myself off the list until i know exactly where i am in my cycle. Im still here though.

Sorry to hear that Suzi I hope af comes soon so you can start trying again.

smallone · 01/12/2008 15:17

Sorry Suzi, I hope to see you on the list again soon [hugs]

bubblebell1 · 01/12/2008 15:20

hi girls,
suzi im in the same boat still no af and a bfn this morn.. i read on fertility friend that sometimes this happens if you dont ovulate or have a delayed ovulation. it says to keep having regular sex and keep charting so as to predict if you ovulate now or in a few weeks etc.. i am bding every day when i can but sometimes every other day even tho i have sinusitus (sp never heard of it before) which i am proud of.

wishing nice to hear that someone is looking after you from the other side. i hope that you get your bfp soon.

Good luck to all you others fingers crossed for more BFPs soon

SuziBhoy · 01/12/2008 15:25

thanks girls.

bubble its so frustrating isnt it? but as u said i will still keep trying and have some fun and who knows what will happen. away to ireland with dp for a break on thur so hopefully if im relaxed things will get back to normal. good luck to you.

bubblebell1 · 01/12/2008 15:26

thanks suzi have a lovely time this weekend.hopefully we will have some news either way when your back xxxx

VeryKeenForABean · 01/12/2008 16:46

Hi all, sorry to hear you're still in the confusion zone suzi & bubble

I have started the deanna plan this cycle, but am wondering if it tells you anywhere how to adjust it for a longer cycle. ie - not starting opks so early in the cycle. Has anyone with a longer cycle tried adapting it? Otherwise I can see myself doing opks for a fortnight!!

Baby dust all

girlwithacurl · 01/12/2008 17:07

Hi very , I have a longer cycle and have adapted the DP a bit. I followed instructions on the CPK which tells you when to start according to the length of your cycle (except I compromised and started in between.. day 13 for me), otherwise very expensive and annoying having to do it for too long (can't drink for 2 hours etc etc..)
so every other night, and CPKs from day 13... no positive for me and I am on day 16... I am hoping for tomorrow as that would fit with my cycle, although my CM doesn't seem to be playing ball
Good Luck!

Wishing · 01/12/2008 17:08

thanks everyone for the nice comments, i know a lot of people are septical which is fine, we cant all be the same can we but i must admit being there made me view things a bit differently - anyway, still no af!! cant find much on a long lh phase!! im pretty sure i must have ov as im using persona monitor but this is the 3rd month period has been late!!?? i know how you feel bubble and suzi - its hrd isnt it, i am alot more chilled this month though!! hope you are ok - sending you big hugs!!

in relation to little swimmer coming back out again - i was told you are best to lie flat after for 20 mins but i know so many who havent!!

xxxx

HeadFairy · 01/12/2008 17:15

Wishing - perhaps you're so chilled because your grandmother is sending you good vibes I didn't mean to knock the psychic by the way, I'm sure I'd be convinced too if it was as accurate as you say, and right in front of me.

With regards to your long Luteal Phase, perhaps your cycle has changed since your mc, or maybe things are still settling down a bit. Do you know what day you ov'd? Did you feel it? I know I ov'd on cd15 this month because it felt like I'd been kicked in the ovary !

I'm still not convinced about the 20 minutes bit I'm afraid. I think quite a few swimmers are up in the right sort of area as soon as your dh has ejaculated. My friend went for a scan once, she'd had some ladies and gentlemen the night before (not ttc, just fun - imagine that ) Anyway, she had lept up and washed herself straight away as she had to get up early for the scan as it was before work. It wasn't a normal scan, it was an investigative one so they were magnifying things quite large, and the sonographer was laughing away because she could see loads of little swimmers wriggling around in her tubes My friend was very

Wishing · 01/12/2008 17:40

thanks head fairy - dont worry dh is still sceptical and he was sat with me!! hahahahahaha

i think maybe i have 3ww!!

xxxx

HeadFairy · 01/12/2008 17:42

Oh no! 3ww! That's just too much I find the 2ww bad enough Poor you!

olivo · 01/12/2008 18:35

hello everyone.SOrry to hear about these confusingly long cycles for some; really hope you get some answers soon.
wishing at the psychic! it must feel really comforting to know your gran is on your side.
warmseabreeze and homeinthesun, sorry to hear about af, glad you're staying with us.
headfairy, pmsl at the swimmers on the scan

nothing new to report here, shattered as usual! cold and cough still here so feeling sorry for myself but will hopefully bd tonight anyway!

HomeintheSun · 01/12/2008 20:04

Hi Wishing the psychic sounds really good I'm really into that, DH thinks it's a load of rubbish but I'd love to go and see one. I feel better about AF arriving although it's not like it normally is as it's very light at the moment.
I've joined ebay this pm and I'm going to get some ovulation sticks should I get any brand or are some better than others?

RipMacWinkle · 01/12/2008 20:20

Am sitting here feeling pretty

Not due on till Thursday but got woken up during the night last night with really bad cramps. That's definitely not normal. However, cramps have continued all day so I figure af is well on her way.

Trying to feel positive but with DH away I'm feeling blue (and a bit emotional which is another sign af is on her way )

Hope everyone who is still on for this month has better luck

x

HeadFairy · 01/12/2008 20:31

OK, I'm going to 'fess up, feel free to tell me I'm being idiotic. I've had really strong cramps since yesterday. I promise I'm not symptom spotting!! They feel a bit different to the implantation pains I had last time, but not entirely. Don't know what to think. I hate ttc, why can't we just go down to John Lewis and pick up a baby when we want one, without any of this am I, aren't I bollocks! phew vent over, I'm going back to ignoring these pains. As you were

bubblebell1 · 01/12/2008 21:00

head i had alot of crampy pain when i was pregnant with ds2 lasted about 3-4 wks from wk 4 to 8 and was told they were implatation pains and that early pains get worse/more noticable with each pregnancy so maybe just maybe you will get a bfp this month

pinkie08 · 01/12/2008 21:14

Hi all,

Congrats to all those BFPs Headfairy you and i are very close on due date.

I have had back ache and bloatedness am trying not to take any notice as they are also AF signs for me.

Havent started spotting yet but am sure i will as not very hopeful

BabyBump2B · 01/12/2008 21:36

Hi ladies... am freaking out slightly. Ok - did a test 3 days before AF was due - BFN. Did THREE tests on Saturday (AF was due Friday) and got 3 BFPs - with 2 different brands. But today went to see Dr and did their pee test and got 2 BFN. I'm so confused and anxious. I've gone for a blood test but it will take a few days to get back. So did another pee stick - another brand and BFP (although really faint).

What is going on?

Sunnydale · 01/12/2008 22:07

Oh Babybump I don't know what to say - I certainly couldn't tell you more than your doctor did. Hang in there and wait for the blood test. Apparently your FSH doubles every day (hope I've got that right - anyone on this thread a doctor?) so a neg test can surely turn into a positive the followng day. Thinking of you xxx

Wishing that's lovely about the psychic - sounds like it really gave you confidence. I went to see one a couple of months ago - she told me there was no reason I couldn't have another DC, and that really cheered me up too. Like you, Headfairy, I'm a bit cynical about psychics, but it's funny what the desire for a child makes you do, eh. I think I just needed guidance at a time I felt a bit lost in my life. Or to listen to someone who seemed to have some answers...

Anyway, I'm on CD13 (lucky for some?)and getting conflicting info about whether I'm OV. I'm not temping and I don't have fertility friend, just some cheap pee sticks (which are showing negative) and a Calista saliva monitor (which is showing positive). So lord knows what's going on down there... again, how I wish I had a home ultrasound kit! If men ovulated, there would definitely be a more failsafe device for knowing. Anyway, here's to some more BFPs soon

HeadFairy · 01/12/2008 22:15

thanks for that bubble, with ds I had about 12 hours of sharp burning pain, very localised. This is a bit more general, like period pain, but I guess I'm a bit early for that to start. Either something's up or i'm in for the mother of all periods

HeadFairy · 01/12/2008 22:44

sorry babybump to hear you're going through this.I can't help I'm afraid, although Sunnydale is right, your hCG doubles every day and different tests measure hCG at different levels so it's possible to have a negative on one test and a positive on another. Try not to worry (not easy I know), hope the bloods go ok.

Issy42 · 01/12/2008 22:49

Thinking of you BabyBump. Hope your doctor just has different sensitivity of test. Fingers crossed for your blood test.

Hope your psychic was right Wishing - I'm also a bit sceptical about the entertainment ones, but I have had two premonitions myself so I can't be too sceptical.

Headfairy - hope it is pg for you, sounds promising.

Sunnydale - Just BD anyway to be sure. I'm having ov confusion today too. Had to do test with fmu before hospital appointment which was -ive, so did another at lunchtime which was borderline - the kind you could stare at for hours trying to decide which line is darker - so told clinic it was just positive, but then checked again around 4 and -ive again and still -ive when I got home an hour ago. The only clear result I have is banging dehydration headache, lol! Scared of missing ov so took the Ovitrelle tonight for IUID on Wednesday anyway. Scan showed two follicles around the required size and several smaller ones but I often get at least one follicle way over so bit worried I may be forcing them out too soon.

Sorry some of you feel AF arriving. Hope she stays away for you.

Good luck everyone xx
