Anyone Planning To TTC From October

VeryKeenForABean · 23/08/2008 20:49

Hi, I had an ectopic in May and am coming up to the end of my 3 month wait following methotrexate treatment. Need to wait for blood results in September but hope to start TTC from October. Feel really positive about the future and want to start looking forward. Anyone want to pass the time with me?

Hi ladies, can i join in please.
After mc's i am ttc this month, however i am a bit confused as yesterday morning i had a blank face on the ovulation test (digital clear blue test) then in the afternoon the smiley face appeared, then this morning i tried again just to see of smiley face still there but it wasn't!!!! Any ideas as to how long the smiley face stays for (i thought it would be about 24hrs!!!!)

LJ29, i can understand what you mean, as soon as the smiley face was there it was all goooooooooo!!! Then again this morning but neither of us really felt like doing it (sorry for crap words) which takes the romance out of it a bit really!!!

Goodluck everyone

sue10 · 05/10/2008 14:25

I'm also really confused about EWCM! What is the normal pattern for Cm in a cycle?

VillageMum · 05/10/2008 14:44

Hello everyone, may I join? I discovered I'd had a mmc on 5 September (when I should have been 10 wks; the baby had stopped growing at 6 wks) - this would have been my second child; I have a lovely ds already aged 7. We weren't ttc with the recent pg at all, it just happened, but once we got over the surprise we couldn't have been happier and since losing the baby we've decided we'd like to try again. I'm now waiting for my first AF since the mc and will only ttc in the next cycle - so, maybe in late October, I hope!

I am 39 and have never actively tried to get pg before, so this is all rather new to me. I also feel my decrepit old age isn't a plus. Would really be glad if I could hang out here with you ladies for some moral support.

PS, Hi LJ - found this on a site called 'Fertility Friend'; perhaps a help?

?Typical? Cervical Fluid Pattern

While your cervical fluid pattern may vary from cycle to cycle and it may vary from woman to woman, a typical cervical fluid pattern looks like this:

Immediately following menstruation there is usually a dry vaginal sensation and there is little or no cervical fluid.

After a few days of dryness, there is normally a cervical fluid that is best described as "sticky" or "pasty" but not wet. While this kind of cervical fluid is not conducive to sperm survival these days may be considered as "possibly fertile" if found before ovulation.

Following these "sticky" days, most women generally notice a cervical fluid that is best described as "creamy". This fluid may be white, yellow or beige in color and has the look and feel of lotion or cream. At this point the vagina may feel wet and this indicates possible increased fertility.

The most fertile cervical fluid now follows. This most fertile fluid looks and feels like raw egg white. It is slippery and may be stretched several inches between your fingers. It is usually clear and may be very watery. The vagina feels wet and lubricated. These days are considered most fertile. This is the fluid that is the most friendly and receptive to sperm. It looks a lot like semen and, like semen, can act as a transport for sperm.

After ovulation, fertile fluid dries up very quickly and the vagina remains more or less dry until the next cycle. Some women may notice small amounts of fertile-looking fluid after ovulation as the corpus luteum produces small amounts of estrogen, but you are not at all fertile after ovulation has been confirmed.

LJ29 · 05/10/2008 15:57

Thanks VM, so when in this pattern do you think we should do the deed?

SuziBhoy · 05/10/2008 16:46

Hi everyone!

Oh the 5th november is getting closer
there will deffo be fireworks that night lol

so how is everyone getting on?

and to everyone who has just joined........ ive found this thread great to hang out in.... hope you get the benefits xx

VillageMum · 05/10/2008 16:50

LJ, Well, they say that EWCM appears in the two to three days before ovulation and that this, up to and including the day of ov itself, is the 'fertile window'. So if you have EWCM, go for it!!

Sue, hi, OPKs usually detect the LH surge 24-36 hours before ov (if you catch the surge at the beginning, that is - I'd say from your smiley face on the OPK that you ovulated on Sat evening, and that your LH levels had dropped again by Sunday morning, simple as that! Just a short surge, but nothing wrong with that!)

Good luck all!

LJ29 · 05/10/2008 20:07

Well we've been bd'ing every other day since last monday so here's hoping!!! I think I am on day 13 or 14 at the moment. My last period started with some very light bleeding on the Monday and full flow on the Tuesday (sorry tmi!) I have read lots of conflicting articles which seem to differ on which day I should count as my 1st day but hoping we have done enought to catch the little egg!

sue10 · 06/10/2008 08:22

Morning ladies,
many thanks VM for the info regarding length of surge, fingers crossed we BD enough times lol!!!!!
So sorry for you mmc, i had one in Feb 07, absolutely devasting, big gentle hugs coming your way my lovely. Goodluck at the end of Oct, keep us posted.
Hi Suzie, roll on the 5th Nov hey!!!
Goodluck LJ29, it's now the 2WW!!!!!
Takecare everyone.
XXX.

LJ29 · 06/10/2008 09:23

Hi all. Yep now the 2WW which is likely to be absolute torture!! Really going to try har not to symptom spot as I had loads last month and still had a BFN. Is anyone else on the 2WW?

spats · 06/10/2008 10:32

I am now on a week wait. The last week went very slowly and imagine this week will as well. Think got PMT also so not happy!! Just want AF to come so can get on with thinking about next month.

LJ29 - my first 2 were also conceived within 1st month so this is v frustrating. DH thinks its too clinical so didn't tell him i did OPK and just pounced on correct days!! This is 3rd motnh of ttc. Last month was 5 days late and think was pg as never late and had really aching/swollen boobs but it went but bled after a week. So i doubt i would be this month as odds against 2 motnhs in a row aren't good. Roll on next month.

LJ29 · 06/10/2008 10:50

Spats don't be too down in the dumps. A lot of PMT symptoms are similar to early pregnancy remember.

VillageMum · 06/10/2008 11:54

Hmmm, I am only on the 2WW for first AF, unfortunately! Since we haven't ttc this time around - felt I needed to get my strength, sanity (and at least one cycle) back after the mc. Very pleased for you ladies who are at that stage, though! It's exciting - remember each month is a fresh chance!

gemdangracie · 06/10/2008 22:36

Hi everyone can I join?

Sorry to hear about all your bad news

We are TTC#2once AF finishes, had my implant taken out of my arm on 10th september and my AF started on 3rd october and is now very light..(TMI)

Seeing as this is my 1st cycle in 1.5 years, when do you think I should start using my OPK to check for OV?? (was thinkin around day 10?)

VillageMum · 06/10/2008 23:26

Hi gemdangracie - Yep, they say day 10 is the day if you don't know the length of your cycle. Good luck!

bluesatinsash · 07/10/2008 13:58

Hi can I park up too?

We're ttc from this week (had MC in August at 8 weeks). AF returned on 23rd Sept but lasted 2 weeks so starting to use OPK this Thurs. My cycle is a bit to pop but we have to give it a go!

I fell first month with DS (2 years) and the last pg but my confidence has really taken a knock since the MC.

BTW wht does WW mean? i.e. 2WW is it weeks waiting?

Hi VillageMum

bluesatinsash · 07/10/2008 14:13

pot not pop!

ellie35 · 07/10/2008 14:24

Hi,
Can I join you all. TTC dc2, have been trying for three months. DS1 took us about 2 years and as I am now nearly 38 am anticipating a long wait so would love the company.

VillageMum · 07/10/2008 16:24

Hi bluesatinsash ((waves back ))
Yes, 2WW = two week wait (I hope! There's an acronym list at the top of the page under 'useful stuff', maybe in there?)

SuziBhoy · 09/10/2008 12:25

okay need all your help my methotrexate friends.

I dont know if you remember having the conversation about me being on the pill?? anyway...... recently my boobs have been aching (they have never ached like this before) and ive just been sooooo tired. I didnt think i could be pg as im on the pill. and my methotrexate shot was back in july/aug, so couldnt be side effects from that either......

what do you think?

maz32 · 10/10/2008 10:17

hi can i join. had miscarriage end of aug, and hopefully go to ttc next week-just needs husband to agree!he doesnt want to see me go thro mc again, and neither do I but im hoping it wont happen again- hes convinced it will xx

VillageMum · 10/10/2008 10:26

Hi maz32 - tell dh not to stress; the medical advice is that having one mc does not alter your chances of having a healthy pg next time in any way. Think positive! x

SuziBhoy · 10/10/2008 12:41

hi maz32

sorry to hear your news

i think thats how it goes with men..... i mean that when i had the ectopic all i could think about was losing a baby and doing whatever it takes to get healthy again, but all dp could think about is what i had to go through.

what i was going through didnt even cross my mind at the time, but i think thats all to do with how each individual deals with it i suppose.

im sure your dh will come around when he starts to look at the positives. it must be awful for them though when they feel they cant really do much to help.

sorry for rambling lol

littlewifey · 12/10/2008 08:49

Hi everyone- welcome to all the new people on here and sorry to hear of all your experiences.
Suzibhoy- are you still having strange symptoms? I know a couple of people who have caught pregnant even though they were on the pill.
I've had a terrible week this week. My BIL and his partner (who I have never been very keen on because he's stuck up and always put's DH down) had their baby daughter on Wed. They got pregnant about a month after our MMC and had always said they never wanted DC. So the whole thing was a big shock. Also the first grandchild for my MIL and FIL- which should have been us only 2 months previously :-(
They live in London so have managed to avoid them for the whole of the pg, which prob wasn't a good way of dealing with things- because this week it has totally hit me. Me and DH had some terrible arguements about it which culminated in me having a total melt down last night and sobbing like a lunatic!! :-( Probably a good thiing though- as it meant me and DH finally talked about it and I now feel a bit better. They have also just announced their engagement- which is a big bone of contention with me because they earn much more than us but never have 'any money' so MIL and FIL are always shelling out for them. However, don't have anything for us because we are 'so good with money' and don't need their help.
Obviously it's not the baby's fault, and I know I'm being a complete Bi* but I'm just finding it so hard to muster any enthusiasm about the whole thing. We have to go and see them next week- which I'm dreading already!
ARRRGGGHHH why is everyhting so hard after MC?????? Sorry for ranting, but knew lots of you lovely ladies would prob understand.
Hope you are all having good weekends and good luck for those on the 2WW. Any news yet??!!!! xx
