Hi All,

This is a difficult time for most women (and men) I think.

Certainly for me, I've waited a long time to get to this stage , having not met Mr Right until the age of 31. Now 34 and got married 2 months ago and now want to complete the family!

So, just started "trying" for a baby and due to my impatient nature, have already started using Ovulation Kits. (Probably not a good idea). I also did the Female Fertility Test and that seemed to have a good result aswell.

I was on Dianette for 8 years and came off of it 3 years ago. My cycles became regular again but every 5 weeks instead of 4. I had previously come off of the pill for 6 months and my cycles were regular, so I guess all this is a good sign.

Anyone else had similar experiences and fallen pregnant quickly? I know everyone's different but any good news stories help move us all along!! .

xx

Hey Kal,

Never TMI on here hun!! How many days do you normally have in your cycle?

I have to admit that if I hadn't had the Implantation bleed, I probably wouldn't have noticed any symptoms either... Still may be worth doing a test though!!

Well done Crunchy on your first pilates class!! They say (on the 10 zillion web pages that I've read) that you shouldn't start a new exercise regime once you're pregnant, you should just continue with what you did before... I'm so gutted! I was looking forward to slogging my guts out at the gym when I could be at home eating!! NOT!!!

I firmly believe that as long as you change hands now and again, remote controls can very easily be classed as light weights!!

Well, I do walk the dog for around an hour a day so I guess I do something!!

So, I won't be joining a salsa class quite yet....

Anyway, if anyone wants me, I'll be in my nice bubble bath with a cup of (decaf) tea and my Cathy Kelly book!! DH has taken our lab out for her evening walk so I've got the place to myself....

Aaaaaahhhhhh......

(We're in a 2-up 2-down - really not that far from one room to the next...)

Hey all, SATC fans, I did the quiz and i got Carrie! yey! I love that series and Love SJP, there is a rumour going round at the moment that she has had the mole (I really think its a mole not a wart!!) removed, and it does look better. I can see where your coming from Dawn It wasn't exactly an attractive feature!!

Well AF is still invading the house, though should be over soon and according to my calculations I should be OV'ing next Friday!! Roll on first month TTC!!

Well done Crunchy for your pilates, I was also under the impression that you shouldn't start anything new before being pg which is why I started now. ALthough I haven't been to yoga in ages and you have to pay in bulk for the lessons which is a pain as we have visitors next month so won't be able to go as often. So I don't think it will be worth the money.

Hi Saz Welcome, this is the lucky thread. We all intend to get BFP's on our first try now that Dawn has set the precident!!

I am off swimming now, at least i've managed to keep that up!!

Kalikaroo · 24/07/2008 08:54

Morning!

I've just been on fertilityfriend and I'm now on CD35 now apparently... Still no witch...

My cycle average is 32 days, but it can vary, so I'm not getting too excited yet.

Have very feint sort of crampiness, but not sure if I'm imagining it or not. Might be a sign that the witch is on her way.

Anyhoo, we'll see what happens today. DH keeps making bored faces when I talk about it, so I think I'll not mention anything to him until a baby actually appears in my arms!

Is anyone else's DH or DP sick of you talking about it all the time???

FlirtyThirty · 24/07/2008 09:13

Dear Kalikaroo,

I don't talk about TTC to DH. Clearly we have spoken about it and made the decision that having a child is a terribly daunting exciting thing to do, but other than that, he is blissfully unaware of my obsession determination to have a baby asap! If I did talk aboiut it lots, I think he'd feel pressured more than bored and I don't want that. I had to wait a long time (or so it felt) for him to feel ready for a baby, so I'm determined not to mess it up with nagging. I use this forum to rabbit away about my every thought and bodily function!
I have also heard from many male friends that when their girlfriedns/wives have announced their PG, it's really hard for them after the initial 'whopee' because not much changes for them until the baby arrives, whereas the woman is constantly aware that she is having a child...I think that's when me and DH will differ because when i am PG, I'll be talking about it all the time!!
The only time we really talk about children, is when we critisize comment on the evil antics behaviour of DH's friend's devil child little cherub! (I can so see us eating our words!)
Anyway...that's what it's like in our house...

And, buyt the way...you should test!!!

Welcome to the madness saz Dawn you made me PMSL about my (.)(.) my DH (yes i have a DH - sadly not a DP also!! ) loves them and is looking forward to them getting bigger!

I started running on the treadmill about 6 weeks ago so will continue that when i get pg, just run at an easier speed

bluestarlavender · 24/07/2008 09:26

Morning girls!!

Oh yes....Kalikaroo - I think you should test too!! Good luck and fingers crossed!

In our house, DH isn't really bothered how much I go on about TCC. I think he's pretty keen to have a small person and we've talked through our plans for this month in terms of OV times and OV sticks and BDing. He's really is being very good. He even reminds me to take my folic acid

Kalikaroo - I am sure that when you find out you're PG, your DH will no longer be pulling bored faces!!

Flirty - PMSL at your comments re: DH's friends devil child!! hehe.

Bonifacio - hope the swim was lovely. It's going to be a hot day here and I am feeling a little at your swim!

Big waves to everyone else!!

bluestarlavender · 24/07/2008 09:27

Ooops forgot to say hi to Saz!! and welcome!

saz007 · 24/07/2008 09:29

Morning ladies, very friendly thread here. Feeling at home already

I'm trying not to talk too much about it to DH in case the pressure gets too much! LOL

crunchynutter · 24/07/2008 09:43

Hi all! My DH has been pretty good- he is a lot calmer than me about how long it will take and is not even remotely interested in looking at prams etc (i even tried to show him nipple shields id found to help ease breast feeding hehe) but he is very excited about being a daddy- its quite cute really, and a little surprising!

kalikoo i am very excited for you and i think Dawn has started a lucky thread so fingers crossed- i think maybe hold out till monday before you test- negatives are and it could be too early?

B i actually enjoyed pilates- have been trying desperately to find a gym activity i actually like but it was fun and i dont know if im imagining it but my belly feels much firmer today! i am impressed- was only my first class (Am going again today though!)

Welcome Saz it is a very friendly thread! Good luck with your baby making! xx

crunchynutter · 24/07/2008 09:46

OOH B congratulations too on your carrie- esque! i can now say i have a carrie lol xx

FlirtyThirty · 24/07/2008 09:56

Oh, I just did the quiz coz I felt left out...I'm a Carrie too! x

saz007 · 24/07/2008 10:12

I just did the quiz too....need something to make the work day go quicker! Another Carrie over here! Never would have thought that

summerbird · 24/07/2008 10:13

ok so i am Miranda, we have a Charlotte and a couple of Carries - have we got a Samantha? Go on she is so much fun!!

My DH is as enthusiastic as me, he has been checking out prams in second hand shops (we are seriously considering that - you just need to wash the covers - most of them have only been used for one baby) he is also reading up on child care costs etc on the internet - bless him

summerbird · 24/07/2008 10:14

oh and can we have the link to this SATC quiz? i have done the one on Facebook but it is rubbish!

Kalikaroo · 24/07/2008 10:18

Actually, I do have to admit that DH is really looking forward to being a dad, and he's been quite broody at times looking at other people's babies. I think it's just that I keep going on about it in too much detail e.g. ovulation and periods etc!! Probably at bit TMI
for a lot of blokes

It's quite hard though because we're living abroad at the mo' and I don't really have anyone else to chat to about it on a daily basis (except on Mumsnet of course!!)since all my friends and family are back in the UK. I really appreciate having you lot to natter on to about all the silly details and obsessive stuff

Ok - enough of feeling sorry for myself!!

crunchynutter · 24/07/2008 10:40

Lol i find it really funny that we have turned our baby thread into (almost!)a SATC fansite lol! I kinds guessed i was charlotte before the quiz as i am a very moral lady

Kalikaroo My DH gets a bit quiet when i mention (periods!) or any such like! He is quite excited about the thought of milking me though i was explaining how you can express milk so he can feed baby while i sleep and i honestly think he thinks it is similar to milking a cow lol dont think he has clicked on there are special pumps!

he has never been very good with babies to be honest he has never been around any other than his nephew and he hardly ever sees him- he is getting much better now he is older and larger though! i think hell be great with our own though as he is very caring and considerate- i think he just doesn't quite know what to do with other peoples if you see what i mean! xx

eth37 · 24/07/2008 10:46

Hello everyone, not checked in for a couple of days as have been busy finishing at work (am a teacher - end of term!! yay!!) and basically been exhausted!

Oooo Kalikaroo have you tested yet? I also daren't witter on toooo much to DH although realise I may have been doing last night, when he actually looked quite pale!! Was literally there going 'well, if I ovulated on day 11 but in the evening... and sperm can live for .... hours blah blah'!

I think I have messed up this month as I think I ov'd later than I thought... I am still getting to grips with the whole thing! But sperm (HATE that word, I know, am a child) can live for a while in the uterus, can't they?! Can someone reassure me pls?! (DH may go insane if you don't!)

I also did the SATC quiz, on facebook, and also got Carrie!! But if there is a better one, pls do send the link!

Linwin · 24/07/2008 10:58

Morning ladies,

What a beautiful day! I've taken today off as an impromptu holiday to enjoy the beautiful weather.

AF STILL here and really the worst I've had in a long time - why is this the case? feels like someone having a laugh at my expense. Just want her to go away so can get onto serious business of BD'ing.

Welcome Saz to a very friendly thread indeed.

Kalikaroo my Poor DH, I have been trying really hard not to come across as mad obsessive woman on the trying to get PG front. Of course I invariably totally ruin that after a couple of glasses of wine and the poor man ends up tortured listening to me going on about it. Man has the patience of a saint

Linwin · 24/07/2008 11:04

So, was reading the new Adele Parks novel in which leading lady had been trying to get PG for 6 years (shudder) and after each BD session she was putting her legs up on wall for 20 minutes!! so that sperm did not encounter gravity immediately. I can imagine the face of poor DH if I start doing that. OMG, should I start doing that?

saz007 · 24/07/2008 11:08

PMSL Linwin! I was just going to ask if anyone actually did that

eth37 · 24/07/2008 11:09

Morning Linwin - what a lovely day to take off! Sorry about AF. Mine is usually 5 - 6 days but always heavy and gross.

Know what you mean re glasses of wine making you go on and on - last night, after maybe 3 glasses I ended up turning into a lunatic... Not sure DH realised just how important it is for me until then....He's under no illusions now though!!

summerbird · 24/07/2008 12:12

ok saz i have to confess i do! a little bit anyway..... i get a cushion under my bum and rest for 5 mins - OMG TMMMMMMI..!! sorry girls i had to tell you!!!

PosyFossil · 24/07/2008 12:14

Hello everyone

OMG Congratulations Dawn!!! That was quick! That must be a good sign for this thread!

I am back to start of cycle again - just ordered some suspiciously cheap ovulation tester sticks off Ebay as I think we must be doing it at the wrong time or something . . I am getting frustrated now! We have been trying since January

How is everyone else doing?

saz007 · 24/07/2008 12:57

Yeay the sun's just come out!!!

Daft (or naive) question number 1...I'm on CD 11 and think I OV on 26/27 july - is it worth BD'ing daily or every other day?

Can you tell I'm new to this??
