Welcome to the new thread I only hope I can link it to the old one

Nomore am feeling , and for you! How frustrating to get pregnant and then for it to grow in the wrong place !!! Will our bodies ever get it right???? I know absolutely nothing about entopic pregnacies except that Nicole Kidman and one of those lesser royals had one and they both went on to have children . . . so here's hoping . . . I guess it could also be seen as good news - at least you can conceive naturally . . . good luck over the next few days, I hope you don't have to have the operation.

I am still waiting for my period to arrive . . .

roseca · 15/11/2008 20:53

HI Guys

I started a thread earlier on today and a couple of people from this thread told me to come here so here i am. Am due to start IVF mid December and am sooooo nervous and excited at the same time. Is it wrong for me to be so negative about it before we even start bearin in mind that just about everyone i know is preggers at mo. 3 friends are giving birth in Jan and another two in may/june plus to top it all off i am getting married in may aswell so feeling a bit harrassed and getting bit down about it

Madoldbird · 16/11/2008 15:07

Just a quick one to say WOW - this IVF really does work - i got a BFP this morning We are absolutely stunned and delighted. I have to ring the clinic tomorrow to let them know, and to book a scan in 3 weeks. I can't believe this is actually happening to us!

nomore i am so sorry to hear your news. It just doesn't seem fair . Look after yourself.

MAD that is such brilliant news. tee hee you might have twins too and you and rattling can start trawling through the twins threads!! (my only advice based on close friends is when they are v little shove them next to each other in the same moses basket and they often cry less)

oh sorry wait these are first babies aren't they?? so that should read "place lovingly and gently in the Moses basket" tee hee hee

NoMore we crossed posts earlier, so so sorry to hear your news. really wish I could come round and make you a lovely big cup of tea, put a blanket round your shoulders, a hot water bottle on your tummy (to aid the pain killers) and give you a big hug as your emotions flit from one to another. Hang in there.

Roseca welcome onboard the good ship "IVF emotional roller-coaster" . I am no IVF expert having only tried once in September, but I can tell you that each clinic seems to do things differently, so it is quite interesting swapping thoughts here. Good luck and keep us all posted. No question is a silly one!

RahRah1 · 16/11/2008 20:42

Hi all

nomoremagnolia - so very sorry... will be thinking of you tomorrow. I just can't beleive how sh*it life can be sometimes. ((HUGS))
In regards to how it will it will effect your IVF, When I had my M/C I went to see my consultant afterwards and they advised I could start my IVF again after one clear period. He asked the question do you need more time mentally?? But I was like no, I just want to do my IVF. So he said he was ok to auth IVF after my period.

londonlottie- Fab news on starting you IVF.. How you getting on with the nasals? I think they sent me a bit strange!

roseca - Good luck for your IVF cycle. Its horrid when everyone around you is having babies.. the pressure is immense. ((HUGS))

mowmi - Thank you very much for your kind words... All the luck in the world for your next cycle...Fingers crossed for you Xxx

sooty - Hope your AF arrives ASAP! My M/C nurse said after a M/C it can take up to 6 weeks to get your period. Do you think you have ovulated? I would check your temps and if they are high then just relax as you have ovulated and your period will arrive. If it does not look like you have ovulated I would call your clinic and even if you ask for a scan to see what you foll's are doing... Just a few ideas. XX

Madoldbird - Many congratulations..

Hello to everyone else... Hope all is well Xxx

sootykalucy · 17/11/2008 13:17

Thanks for that advice RahRah, I did take my temperature and don't think I have ovulated . . . have contacted my clinic so we shall see. ..

nomoremagnolia · 17/11/2008 19:03

Blood hcg levels have dropped so I'm waiting for a natural m/c in the next few days.
Hospital are happy to hand me over to my GP for monitoring. Guess it's the best news in the circumstances but I'm feeling more emotionally battered now the immediate worry/anxiety/fear is gone.

Nomore - Thank god the HCG levels are dropping naturally. I know its horrible, but its the best thing under the circumstances. Always here for you and can relate to M/c etc if you ever want to chat.. Sending you big hugs and just so you know 'thinking of you'... Love Rah Xxx

Lottie - Good luck for the injections, I am doing daily injections at the moment and hate injections, but they are OK... Its all getting exciting now!

sooty - sods law that you have not ovulated... its blood typical... so annoying...((HUGS)) why when its so difficult normally does our bodies irritate the situation more. I would keep on to the clinic, even if they have to give you something to help the cycle along. Fingers crossed you ovulate soon and can then start your IVF again XXXXX XXXXX

Hello to everyone else Xxx

soosy · 18/11/2008 19:18

I was so sorry to see your news Nomore, be kind to your self, thinking of you.

Sooty - the clinic can give you something to bring your period on, and you can guarantee that once they have prescribed it the witch will appear without you actually having taken it! I know because it happened to me too once.

congrats Madold bird - less of the old now eh!

Rattling twins fabulous news, clever girl - wish I had had twins.

I am still um-ing and ar-ing about the next cycle, but having thinking about IVM (I produce loads of eggs) at the Oxford Fertility Clinic - does anyone know anything about the clinic?

Love to everyone else - including BSL I am keeping things crossed for you.

Hi everyone,

Nomore - so sorry to read your news! I hope you're as okay as can be expected!!

Hi Soosy!! Thanks for thinking of me...D-day tomorrow with DH's sperm test results. I suspect we'll be starting the assisted route from tomorrow. On 6DPO today and am feeling very unPG again. I know this sounds daft, but I'm looking forward to tomorrow, despite thinking it's going to be bad. I just need to know there's a reason for us not conceiving and I need to feel we're moving forward in some way.

big waves all around!

nomoremagnolia · 19/11/2008 17:03

soosy Oxford are lovely - can't speak for IVM but they were fab with me. Very straight talking though, not insensitive or anything, just rather factual. The nurses are much more the 'emotion' ones (prob the same everywhere) I also think they are a bit more £ than others (I only compared with Bath) but they are the only ones to offer IVM aren't they?

sootykalucy · 19/11/2008 17:40

Good luck tomorrow Bluestar

Hi soosy good to hear from you and I don't know much about genetic testing but I think you might be on the right track from the number of 8 cell embryo's you got last time . . . . it could save you lots of stressful cycles en-route to success, and if not, from a diagnostic point of view it might help you get closure at the very least. I always want to know why . . .

My period finally arrived today - day 48! Thankfully I can just fit in a cycle before my Doctor goes away so I am experiencing a wonderful sense of relief which is such a nice change from frustration. I start injecting tonight . ..

BTW anyone know anything about steriods? I have just been prescribed them (last minute change of plan) - Prednisolone, 5mg twice a day . . . ?? Was it you swerve that was on them?

How are you going LL? Are you on the plane to Norway yet?

Hi all not due to start taking the drugs until January i rang the unit up today but they are keeping tabs on me from circa 13 December, you read about it get confused by all the mumbo jumbo it is just reassuring to know that it isnt just me that is going through it aswell. I hope that it works for me though and that 2009 is the year for me and for everyone else that isnt successful yet. I will keep everyone posted though. the only thing i am not really looking forward to is the though of having HIV test although i am perfectly fine it is just the thought of knowing.

NappyValley · 19/11/2008 19:45

Roseca, I know what you mean, back in July I really didn't have a clue, but it is amazing how all the mumbo jumbo sorts itself out and soon you will be an expert!!

I think jan is a nice time to be doing it, all the stress of crimbo out of the way and not much going on. We'll be having another shot in Jan I think.
Plus hopefully it will be a September and not an August baby.
Are you ttc #1, presumably?

Fingers crossed.

lottie good luck away. guess you can really milk for injection sympathy from DH at any rate!! Well done on doing (IKWYM about feeling all mature {smug grin smilie if it existed})

sooty hooray you get to fit it in b4 your consultant goes away. fingers crossed for you.

swerve · 20/11/2008 08:44

Hello all! Sooty, yes, I'm on steroids - pred too (25mg). I'm just winding down the dose now and will finish in about a week. They make me ravenously hungry and first time round I put on quite a lot of weight. Not so this time (3 slices of bread are bad. a big apple is good - blindingly obvious really, but passed me by that first time!

ratt, I hope to spy you lurking around the multiples board.

I'm off to take a peak at my 2 and see how they're doing (otherwise known as 12 week scan)

love & strength to you all.

sootykalucy · 20/11/2008 08:45

Hey LL i am a day behind you now - I started my injections tonight. I am back on the pens so it's pretty easy, that menopur mixing was quite a challenge at times.

Still wanting to know if anyone else has experience of steriods . . ?

sootykalucy · 20/11/2008 08:48

Hi swerve you must be a mind reader - we were posting at the same time. I'm on 10mg - did you increase your dose when you became pregnant?

Good luck with your scan - are you going to find out the sexes?

Thanks Nomore about Oxford, it's not that far from where we live now and it may be easier to get there than London.

LL good luck, you probably won't see this message until too late. IVM is in vitro maturation, they take out the eggs when they are immature and mature them with much smaller doses of drugs in the lab. It means you don't have to take such large doses of hormones. It is very successful, esp with those with PCOS Oxford is the only place licensed to do it in this country but you do require to produce a good number of eggs for it to be viable.

Hi everyone,

Can I come and join you guys properly now, as we are being referred to see a consultant.

DH got his test results back yesterday and although I was worried, they weren't as bad as I expected!! Yay! They aren't normal either, but motility has now improved to a normal level and we have 2% normal forms...which is low, but at least there are some there!!! Everything else was fine like the first test.

Next steps for us are that I had to do a 21 day progesterone blood test...luckily I was DPO8 today, so the GP said it was fine to go this morning. And we are being referred and should hopefully be seeing the specialist in about 3 months time! In the meantime...it could happen naturally for us too...so fingers crossed!

I know I am at the very beginning of the assisted conception route, so I hope you all won't mind me being very naive about everything to start with.
