Anyone else in the middle of TTC baby number 2? It can be lonely at times so thought I would start a thread ❤️

We are trying for No. 2! We have a 3 year old, what about you?

Technically been trying since Feb but I've struggled to get a positive ovulation test and my periods have been odd. I had COVID and a stressful couple of months so hopefully it's just that.

Finally saw a positive ovulation test yesterday so more hopeful this month!

How long have you been trying?

Yes I am too. We have a 5 year old son. Currently CD3 of cycle 4 . Conceived our first in the first month so this is has been very different for me this time. Might have to start ovulation tests etc this month.

yay to having a positive ovulation test, sounds like you’ve had a stressful time so I would also put it down to that! When you say your periods have been everywhere what do you mean? Only asking cos I’ve also had the same 🤨
had a cycle dec, jan! Didn’t have one in March due to dealing with something quite stressful, had a cycle March and then late again for my April cycle😟 really confused over it tbh! pregnancy tests negative.

we have a 1 year old almost 2 year old in June❤️

we also fell pregnant first time of ttc with our daughter and we are going into our 4 month so I completely understand you 😣

@chelseaaaaaxxxx hi, we are ttc #2 also, we have an almost 2 year old and got pregnant with her on first cycle. We’ve been ttc since Sept so this has been very different. I’m on 7 dpo atm, swinging from feeling v hopeful as we timed dtd really well this cycle and then feeling like it’s just not going to happen, very frustrating!

that’s very frustrating for both of you with missed cycles, do you mean u aren’t getting opk peaks and miss a period or what actually happens, it’s scary what stress can do to our bodies and cycles ❤️

I know, I had a little cry and then ate an Easter egg 😅😂.

it is very frustrating for sure! Not sure why but I had to stop my ovulation tests cos it was saying I was ovulating just before having a period which I found really weird? Also upsetting as just found out by friend is expecting her 2 baby x

it’s hard to think why am I not getting pregnant quickly this time round! My friend just told me today that she’s pregnant with her 2nd that really hurt:(

I had a c section due to preeclampsia:/ my periods are everywhere atm and I don’t understand it :/

If anyone of you ladies are up for starting a WhatsApp group I would be up for that as like I said it’s soo isolating when TTC! It’s nice to have ladies in the same situation as you as you feel less alone x

We want to try and TTC no.2 but I haven’t had a period yet. I am hoping it comes back soon

Hello! We’re trying for no. 2 as well so thought I’d join the thread. We have a nearly 2 year old. She took 18 months to conceive so I’m not sure what to expect this time but I’m really hoping it doesn’t take as long as I really struggled last time as it just became all consuming mentally and emotionally.
We’ve been trying since January.

oh bless you. I take my hat off to you I don’t know how people can stay so calm when TTC and it take a while. We are at 4 months atm and it can be a bit upsetting even now. We will get out 2nd babies tho! Xx

Hi, hope its ok to join 😊 we have just started TTC #2, We have a 9 month old, took us over a year to conceive her, fell pregnant just as we were getting fertility tests completed 😅, so want to give ourselves plenty of time this time round. Having a very weird cycle, day 1 was 12th Feb 🙈 believe ovulation has finally been confirmed last week so currently in the TWW, sending you all baby dust✨️✨️

Thank you! To be honest it wasn’t easy and I got very in my head. Trying to take a more chilled approach this time but not sure how long that will last! It’s just not my personality!!
Fingers crossed for us both for it to happen soon!
i never post on mumsnet but last time I joined a thread with some ladies who had also been trying a while and it helped to know others were going through it too!

Thank you! We really do want 2 under 2 but he’s still feeding pretty frequently at the minute (although has jumped up 30 on the growth chart since weaning)

I understand how u feel @Foreverhopeful92, with our first i felt the same, although i didn't have as long a wait as you, its so hard to be chilled about it especially as each cycle comes and goes, it can be very tough mentally, i know with me i was constantly googling bbt, supplements etc looking for answers lol

I am also, its so hard to not analyse everything! I BBT so each temp has me overthinking everything trying to figure out what it means lol do you do anything to track your cycles at the minute?

I would love the know how to be more chilled about TTC😅 it’s more hard breaking when your friends announce they are pregnant with baby no2 I know I should be happy for them but secretly I was so upset and really wished it was me who was pregnant 😣 ( I know probably a bit selfish)
I thought I would do this thread as like you said it’s nice to know that other people are in the same boat as you! Would be nice to set up a WhatsApp group or something x

I use flo to track my cycles! It’s really helpful! Do you? Do you also have cycles every month& can you tell when you are ovulating? Sorry for the questions🫣

Sorry to hear it took you a while as well. It is such a strange head space isn’t it!
its also played on my mind as to when we started trying for #2. But I just wasn’t ready to start any earlier even though it probably would have been a good idea too I just mentally couldn’t face the heartache each month! But new year and all that - so we started in January.
Hopefully this time it won’t take as long for us!

I use flo as well, its a very good app compared to others, i use it more so to keep track of my dates, my cycles would vary between 32 - 35 days, so flo wouldn't always be accurate for me that way. I mainly use Natural Cycles to keep track of my temps, i find this very useful as I like to see the trends, and can use previous cycles to compare where I am. Only thing with it is it will only confirm ovulation after its happened, but it does help narrow the window!
