Anyone else in the middle of TTC baby number 2? It can be lonely at times so thought I would start a thread ❤️

I would love the know how to be more chilled about TTC😅 it’s more hard breaking when your friends announce they are pregnant with baby no2 I know I should be happy for them but secretly I was so upset and really wished it was me who was pregnant 😣 ( I know probably a bit selfish)
I thought I would do this thread as like you said it’s nice to know that other people are in the same boat as you! Would be nice to set up a WhatsApp group or something x

Yes I can definitely relate. I felt very happy for friends but sad for myself at the same time! We had a few very close friends all conceive and even give birth before we even got pregnant!
i was using the easy@home opks to track but in attempting to take a chill approach 😂 I’ve actually decided not to use them for now. But so far all it’s done is annoy me as I’m less sure when my period is due 😂

Sorry to hear it took you a while as well. It is such a strange head space isn’t it!
its also played on my mind as to when we started trying for #2. But I just wasn’t ready to start any earlier even though it probably would have been a good idea too I just mentally couldn’t face the heartache each month! But new year and all that - so we started in January.
Hopefully this time it won’t take as long for us!

Its a big decision to make, you have to be sure you feel ready to go on the journey, or as ready as you are going to be! you still get the false hope that it might happen first go when you do start🙈 but we will get there, and everything crossed it wont be near as long for us as with our firsts 🤞

I use flo as well, its a very good app compared to others, i use it more so to keep track of my dates, my cycles would vary between 32 - 35 days, so flo wouldn't always be accurate for me that way. I mainly use Natural Cycles to keep track of my temps, i find this very useful as I like to see the trends, and can use previous cycles to compare where I am. Only thing with it is it will only confirm ovulation after its happened, but it does help narrow the window!

Oh really?
my cycles are basically the same as yours, every 32-35 days? Do you track your ovulation by doing the tests too? X

I think you can also become quite obsessed with taking the tests too which isn’t good on your mental heath at all. I ended up throwing mine!

I use flo too! It’s a good app especially once it has some months of data!

Anon224 · 08/04/2026 21:46

I did use it on its own at the very start but I had problems with my cycle back then so thats why I found it a bit off, sorry I wasnt very clear 🤣 i then seen on mumsnet about BBT and once I started that I kind of only used flo to add period dates into to keep it up to date, i try not to use opks too much, I never know when to just put the box away lol

MrsBroccolini · 08/04/2026 21:51

V similar to lots of you - was instant with our first and we’re in cycle four for our second now. Our daughter turned 3 in Feb.

Cycle one and three were both “chemical pregnancies”/v early miscarriages which have been pretty wrenching, a real rollercoaster, and a little bit worrying, though bloods haven’t found anything wrong. But I know if we do get there again those first 12 weeks will be tough rather than joyous.

The second early miscarriage has messed up my cycle too. I’m on my fourth LH surge this month - body just isn’t ovulating (I track it with temperature on my Oura ring). Day 23 and I’ve hopefully JUST ovulated, fourth try lucky??

Oh I’ve never tried opkas haha I shouldn’t even think about getting it as I’d be testing all the time then haha

@user5699
i love that, best way to get over something!😅

it’s hard to think why am I not getting pregnant quickly this time round! My friend just told me today that she’s pregnant with her 2nd that really hurt:(

I had a c section due to preeclampsia:/ my periods are everywhere atm and I don’t understand it :/

Ah I completely get it. 2 of my friends started trying around the same time as we did and fell instantly. I’m very happy for them but other part of me thinks why not us. And I know I need to manage my expectations as it’s only been 3/4 months but just makes me worry something is wrong.
but let’s stay positive.
onto 2027 babies 💜

I’m now CD1 - onto cycle 4! To be honest I’m just hoping for less than 18 like last time 🙏🤞

@chelseaaaaaxxxx do you test early? What dpo do you start testing?

It’s so upsetting when your period comes isn’t it 😣 especially when you are in the 2 wait window and wondering if it’s cramps cos you are pregnant or just your period:( I’ve got everything crossed for you it doesn’t take you long as last time too!

I don’t test early normally test about 11/12 dpo so I normally wait for my period to come cos I don’t like the upset of a negative test:(
we was very fortunate with our first baby cos the first ever test I did was positive so i definitely take my hat off to anyone who tests every month and it’s negative. It’s so hard😣

what about you? X

Yes similar here - I usually wait til 12 dpo to test or sometimes not at all depending on how I’m feeling. I then have a couple of days to feel sad but then day 1 of my period isn’t so bad as I see it as the start of another try :)

Aw that’s lovely that it was your first ever test you took! That must have been so amazing! I lost count of mine haha!

Hopefully it’s your month! 🤞 did you have any pre test pregnancy symptoms last time? I had a weird taste in my mouth on the Wednesday (which I think was about 10/11 dpo) and tested on the Friday and got a faint but obvious line. So now means I’m waiting to see if I get that weird taste each month even though I know you can have completely different symptoms for different pregnancies.

Yeah I’m doing alright. AF has stopped. I’m torn between ordering ovulation tests or just taking it easy and trying to stay relaxed?!

Got everything crossed for you! I try not to test early too as can’t stand the negative tests. Keep me updated on how it goes! Any symptoms? Xx

Bubs94 · 10/04/2026 20:29

Hi ladies!
mom trying for baby number 2. Have a 5 year old son (on Tuesday - can’t believe it) and in the 7th or 8th cycle of trying. It’s exhausting! Son was a happy surprise but fell pregnant when on the mini pill. First time actively trying for a baby and I just dread around ovulation every month because I just don’t have it in me to keep doing it to be disappointed at the end of the 2 weeks. Currently 1dpo today, dtd 4 out of 5 times over my fertile window including day before my peak and ovulation day so fingers crossed

I couldn’t imagine how many tests you went through;( I really wish it was so much easier to fall pregnant haha! Keeping track of ovulations ect puts stress on it as well!

I am really hopeful that this is your month too🥹 and it doesn’t take anywhere near as long as your first 😣

aww did you so many people say about having the metal taste in their mouths but I had pulling/ stretching pains which made me test!!

how old is your baby again? Xx

It’s SOOOO hard to stay relaxed tho isn’t it and that won’t help either 🙈 what brand of ovulation tests do you use?

I am really hopeful for you as well🤞🏻

not too many symptoms I have some mild cramps but I don’t know if that’s me overthinking it?! Or me about to come on my period 😣 what about you? Xx

Yes let’s hope everyone on this thread has some good news soon!! :)

so for me it was like an off taste - not metallic but like I needed to brush my teeth! Interesting re the feeling you had - for me that signals I’m out but I always wonder if it feels different to period pains!

Baby #1 is 2 in June! I say baby but really a toddler now 😭 you have a 2 year old too I believe? I was so unsure what to do about age gap! I’ve no idea what is best but everyone I know seems to just say whatever age gap you end up with just works somehow so not to stress about it x

Foreverhopeful92 · 10/04/2026 22:10

Definitely!! Everyone needs to keep us posted!!

Ooo I see what you mean now! That doesn’t very nice tbh but then you go off things don’t you when you are pregnant! What did you use to crave?

it’s really hard to explain it didn’t feel like period pains it was like in my hips a bit odd I know but never felt it before so I hope I get it again so it gives me a bit of hope 😂

awwwww do you what date were they due? my little girl is going to be 2 in June too. How are you finding this stage!, I completely understand what you mean with the age gap but I’ve always wanted them kinda close in age so they can play each other xx

@chelseaaaaaxxxx thank you!! It really does, you don’t realise how quickly life goes until you have children!
on average they’re 32 days. Last cycle it was 28 days but they’re just getting back to normal after my chemical in November.
what about yours? How are you finding ttc for 2nd baby? If I think about having a second baby too much I get anxiety, despite wanting them so badly. I think it’s because we have a routine and it’s just the three of us, having to adjust scares me so much and changing my life yet again with work and finances and routine
