TWW feels like forever

WHY does the TWW feel like forever?! I thought I was 7dpo then I actually hit my peak late, and now I’m 3dpo and just want to test😂 fertile window being 28th-2nd with ovulation on 3rd and BD every other day so really hoping it’s done the trick. Had a chemical on Nov 10th. Did anyone fall pregnant the cycle after a chemical?

I’m 8dpo today. I did test yesterday and negative, I haven’t tested today yet. I am feeling really lethargic and have had a headache. We have our first lambs today though, so no rest for me :(

@SKLM did u stop lh strips after that or what were they doing since?

@DmcinT I couldn’t tell you. When I had my daughter (13) we never tried for a baby, it just happened one day. I was only in my early 20s when I got pregnant. I haven’t been pregnant since. I am only testing this early now and every day due to the high risk of mc when lambing. I will use gloves ect anyway, but testing every day gives me peace of mind too. Just incase.

My LH is on the rise today - wasn’t expecting to ovulate until later next week but got a 0.7 today and the app has jumped to expected ovulation Monday - will be interested to see what tomorrows test says! I’d be quite pleased if it was a little earlier this month (and therefore maybe an earlier period) with a few different things I’ve got in the diary.

So I got a fun spanner in the works today lol. I had an NHS ultrasound booked for something unrelated but discovered on scan today that I hadn't actually ovulated yet. My dominant follicle kept growing and is now a whopping 24mm. I thought I was 7dpo today. She asked if I was TTC, and I said yes, she said 'you should try now'. So I guess we are back to 0?????

I am shocked my LH was so positive and my body doesn't usually do this. But I will take some more LH strips today and try tonight. I am worried the follicle is too big at this point and that it may not come out, but worth a try. the adventure continues lol

@Plumchumm wow. Was she sure? I have had a lot of ultrasounds in the past and my ovaries looked swollen at various points in the cycle maybe due to multiple follicular attempts! Have you tested your LH since your dark line?

This is what happened to me a couple of cycles ago and I posted a lot on here about it. I got a static smiley on the clear blue monitor and a 1.1 peak on a standard LH test at day 15. Assumed ovulation. Then a week later lots of cm and at 28 days I got an identical peak and period 13 days later.

@Plumchumm how bizarre. I don’t really know much about the follicles ect, but say you did ovulate 7 days ago, how long would it take for the follicle to reduce down again? Could it still have been large from when you ovulated .. maybe a bit later than you thought? Seems weird that you didn’t ovulate with the LH levels being high. I’m interested to know what your levels are now too.

Edit. I just had a look online about the lifecycle of the follicles out of curiosity and apparently they stay enlarged until 9-14 days as it produces progesterone and if no pregnancy occurs, it then breaks down. So maybe it was present and enlarged because you HAD ovulated and it’s there to support your luteal phase rather than preparing for release?

@PandaLife that is really interesting, I never knew that about the follicles staying enlarged for some time afterwards. It might be why I sometimes have a swollen ovary feeling for quite a while after I ovulate even if my LH is low.

So much going on in our bodies that we don't know about!

@SKLM it’s crazy how little I know about my body. Going through TTC definitely opens my eyes.

I am 9dpo. Negative this morning. Don’t really have any symptoms, I didn’t last cycle either. I wonder if my body has begun to settle a bit since having my coil removed. Took a while! I’m also really busy, so that could contribute too.

How are you feeling?

I'm 7dpo today, I just feel exhausted since yesterday. I went back to bed in the middle of the afternoon. Today I just want to sleep. I never feel great in the second half of my cycle, I seem to have a lot more energy and get up and go before I ovulate. Got a niggling pain in my stomach but I think I get this every month from around a week before my period is due.

Not feeling hopeful this month at all!

@PandaLife @SKLM that’s mad about the follicles being so big even after ovulation, u just kinda of assume they disappear after the chosen egg releases!

I am so busy the last few days with visitors and so many wee Easter activities booked but I’ve still found it slow, I’m only 4 dpo and ovulation feels like it was at least a week ago! I’m trying to decide to test or not on Saturday at 10 dpo as it’s my birthday. Part of me is like just test and either way... if negative it can be too early anyways and if positive sure isn’t it lovely to find out on that day 🤷🏼‍♀️ I do think I’d find it very hard not to test.

@DmcinT I am exactly the same I will probably be testing from tomorrow.

Right so I am 7/8dpo, getting a lot of sharp twinges and cramping today more over to one side but generally in the lower abdo area. I often start to get cramping round about now a week or so before my period but this has come on suddenly and feels quite marked rather than grumbly. I might have to take ibuprofen. I don't want to get my hopes up but I really hope it is a good sign.

Feeling quite hopeless about TTC today and have been spending time questioning my life choices. My mood is definitely lower than usual this luteal phase.

How is everyone? I hope you had a nice Easter..my 18mo joined in his first Easter egg hunt.

And as quickly as that pain started it has just about gone, lasted around 20 minutes. Why can't our bodies be more straightforward!

Sorry you’ve been feeling rubbish today @SKLM funnily, I had some sharp pains last night which I certainly noticed. They were quite painful but didn’t last long. It happened a couple of times and not since. I don’t recall it happening before.

I’m too feeling a bit meh about it all. Negative again today at 10dpo. Highly doubt it’ll be this month anyway. We only dtd once during my fertile window. I am beginning to get tired of thinking about it, tracking and testing every month too. I think I’m going to go cold turkey next cycle and not monitor it whatsoever, just keep an eye on when my af is due. I’ve also had feelings today which aren’t nice, wondering if I want what I’m currently living ..
I think it’s a mixture of hormones, emotions and stress. I just feel quite sad and overwhelmed about lots of things.

How quickly do other peoples LH strips “drop” after your peak?

I got a 1.25 over the weekend - expected the next day for it to be at least down to around 0.7, but it was still up at 1.05. Now I’m getting in my own head about maybe this will mean I’ve ovulated later than I think, and won’t have covered the right days as well as we could have…

@CauliflowerCheese00 they say ovulation is roughly 12 hrs after your first peak on strips, the hormone can stay high then for a day or 2 after so please god ur covered 🤞🏽

@CauliflowerCheese00 oh completely and it’s so easy to convince urself u haven’t done enough but day before and day of peak is the ideal timing as it’s O -2 and O -1 so absolutely perfect timing.
it amazes me how many months we’ve hit timing so well and not got pregnant, like how do ppl get pregnant on ONS, baffles me!!

im 6 dpo now and nothing to report, Have a night out for my birthday on Saturday so the debate on whether to have a drink or not 🫣

Hey how is everyone doing?

I'm 9dpo. Convinced myself I have a faint line on a test but deep down I think it is an indent.

Having horrible pms symptoms, feel very bloated, headaches, boobs feel very big this month and stomach cramps. My period should be due in 5 days - not feeling optimistic about our success this month x

@SKLM im 7 dpo and not feeling hopeful today even thou we’ve timed everything so well this cycle, just on a bit of a downer about it all, wishing the time away so I can test! I do have lots of wee crampy and stingy twinges and I’m wrecked but prob all just progesterone 🤷🏼‍♀️

if u fancy some extra line eyes throw ur test up here 😅 oh im hoping it’s a line for u 🤞🏽

@DmcinT As I have no shame left when it comes to early testing I am happy to show you the pictures. There is nothing there. But you know when you think there is and you can't let go? It happens to me every month. I'm only 9dpo, I need to try to back away from the tests but it's hard when you feel like you are having much more intense symptoms than usual!

I clearly have line eyes on the photos because one minute I see something and the next I don’t. I’ve just spent a good few minutes looking and looking again. If there is something showing, it’s still very early so definitely do more again tomorrow/friday. I feel excited for the potential line!

I am 12dpo and still bfn. My period is due tomorrow, so I’m just waiting for that now. I only have one test left in my box and I’m not buying any more. Boobs have been hurting today, but I imagine that’s just pm symptoms.

Today has been glorious. I decided to have the day off work. Lambing is going well so far too, it’s nice and steady. Overall I’m feeling really good today.

@SKLM are they all the same test? I’m sure I see a shadow on that last one. I’m same with testing, I’m like feck it and do them no probs but then spend the day analysing it thinking I see a line when it’s deff negative.

in this day and age wouldn’t u think there would be some faster/more certain way of knowing earlier on. I’ve just melted down an Easter egg with rice crispies to cheer me up 😅
