TTC for first baby thread !

Hello - I thought I’d start a TTC thread specifically for those of us who are trying for our first babies. I’ve joined other threads before but find it difficult connecting to others who may already have babies as I think ttc for your first is a whole other ball game as no other children and first time.

Any others? 🩷

@cobalt123 I think I’m also about 8dpo! Feel like i’m over analysing everything trying to work out if it is a symptom, can’t work out what is just normal 😅

@Buttons97 im the same I feel like I’m overanalysing everything… had a few symptoms which are probably just pms but really tempted to test tomorrow (10DPO) even if just to get it out of my system!

@SleepySkyRat yes i’m so tempted to test even though realistically I know it’s too early to actually see anything 😅 Feel like i’m going crazy trying to work out if everything is PMS or a symptom.

@Buttons97@SleepySkyRat eek. Yep 10dpo tomorrow 😬. When are you going to start testing? I’m really hoping I can hold out till the weekend. So much symptom spotting. At the same time l wonder why we bother paying any attention to “symptoms “ as I’m sure it seems like when people do or don’t have symptoms it’s not related to whether they get a bfp or not!

@Buttons97 @cobalt123 I think I’m going to wait until Friday (12DPO) as we’ve got plans at the weekend and I’d rather know beforehand. It’s probably going to be a BFN but I’d rather just know than wait for AF to arrive

@cobalt123 @SleepySkyRat AF is due on Saturday so I’m going to try and hold out until Sunday when i’ll be 13dpo if she hasn’t arrived by then. Getting very impatient now though!

AF arrived for me this morning, so that’s me out this month.
Trying to console myself with all the lovely things I can eat and drink in the run up to Christmas, which I wouldn’t be able to have if pregnant, but I was disappointed not to get a BFP.

AF was due on Saturday but still hasn’t come. Took two tests and both negative so seems my cycle is messed up 😞

Argh sorry to hear that @SunshineRose12. That’s weird @PeonyPatchits honestly all such a long drawn out head fuck isn’t it. As they say though you’re not out till AF arrives right…

True, but it’s likely to be due to my PCOS which I’m even more worried about now as I was averaging at 32 day cycles. Today is day 35 now 😞

@SunshineRose12 that’s a good way to look at things! I try and find the positives even when I feel like there are none!

I got teary eyed in the bus because Ibsaw a bit of dust shining in the sunlight and I thought it was so beautiful. I am on day 1 of 2WW (this is gonna be long 😄)

BFN this morning for me and AF started. Really got it into my head it was going to be positive this month… but at least it means I can drink at Christmas?!

Sorry to hear that @SleepySkyRat. Yes let the Christmas festivities commence without the worry about having to hide not drinking from people! I’m going to test in the morning. If by some chance it is a positive it will be a slightly awkward weekend next weekend as I’m going to visit family, so it will be really hard to hide not drinking as they can read me like a book!

I'm not even out of my fertile week yet (I don't track specifically for ovulation) and I'm already feeling impatient about the tww 🙈

@SleepySkyRat BFN for me too this morning (11dpo). Feeling quite deflated but trying to focus on that I’ll be able to fully enjoy Christmas!

I caved and did an internet cheapie. Stark negative 🙄

AF still hasn’t arrived, I’m thinking that I gave up on ovulation testing too soon this cycle and maybe ovulated really late, which frustrating me as feel like I’ve thrown away this cycle!

I have done 2 tests both stark white, as now 3 days late and no signs of AF coming today - no cramps etc. Just want it to come so I can mentally move on to the next cycle, as I still have some hope until it arrives though realistically not expecting anything as 2 negatives!

Went to my friends baby shower this weekend, which was really lovely and I’m so excited to meet her baby, but also made me wish it was me too! She’s nearly grown a whole baby in the time we’ve been TTC!

AF arrived yesterday for me. Although very light still which is a bit unusual. It all really hit me like a ton of bricks yesterday and feeling really down about it. I know it’s silly and I shouldn’t feel too disheartened as we’ve not being trying long but I think the pms hormonal emotional wave hit hard when coupled with the disappointment as id really convinced myself that something was happening. Struggling to pull myself out of the dumps.

@cobalt123 don’t be so hard on yourself, it’s not silly there will always be someone who has been trying longer but it doesn’t make your journey any less difficult - it is easier said than done to not be disappointed when you want something so much! Hopefully you can throw yourself into Xmas festivities and enjoy a prosecco or 2 before the next cycle starts 🥂

Hello! My AF came. It was about 4/5 days late which is annoying. Ready to start again soon this month but not super hopeful. I really think we both need IVF 😵‍💫 how are you? xx

I thought AF was arriving yesterday, but it turned out to just be a bit of spotting and then nothing since.

@cobalt123 I’m sorry to hear that, it’s so horrible when you want it so badly! I wasn’t expecting how difficult this would be mentally.

I'm sorry to hear of all the BFN this month already. Is anyone else just starting their tww? My AF isn't due until next Thursday - I hate the waiting - it goes so slowly and I feel like I lose my mind
