A few days into my two week wait now, period due around 2nd of March.

Trying not to get too excited as I'll soon be 40 and I know my chances are lower - nevertheless, I found myself downloading a pregnancy tracking app this morning and looking at all the visuals of what the baby would look like at various stages 🙃

Anyone else out there want to wait with me? Crossing fingers and toes for my November baby!!

So i had a telephone appointment with my doctors today - some sort of out of hours clinic ! She was so lovely- she basically told me that the fact that i got pregnant relatively easily when I was 39 was a good sign, shes prescribed me a higher dose folic acid due to be being a bigger lady - she also said that if i dont get pregnant this cycle then they will do a blood test of cycle day 21 of my next cycle to check everything!

So had my "7 and a bit" week scan over the weekend and there is a heartbeat. That was a huge relief. Not counting my chickens yet but feeling a bit more positive. I will not tell anyone until after 12 weeks. I did not tell anyone last time until 5 months as I did not want it to impact my career (... it still did!) I already cannot fit comfortably into jeans I was wearing a month ago. I presume that might have more to do with me eating crisps to ward of morning sickness than anything else. Anyways, my thoughts are with you all and I sincerley have all my fingers and toes crossed for you for some good news soon. Will be following along and sending lots of love. x

Great news @Daisychains9 I remember being massively boated by 8 weeks too- I actually looked like I had a bump already- think it’s hormones
hope we are all joining you soon 🤞🏻

EmberR · 13/05/2025 07:30

I’m now waiting for next ovulation window! Your mind goes from waiting to planning so quickly… it feels a bit relentless with all time boxed into different trying and waiting bursts…

MrBigsCat · 13/05/2025 19:09

Same here @EmberR im day 9 today, I usually ovulate day 12
my cycles are so short it never feels too long until I’m in the next one
good luck to you for this month!

EmberR · 13/05/2025 19:16

Thanks @MrBigsCat good luck to you too! I ovulate super early which I’ve heard isn’t good for conception but is common for age 40+ so I’m wondering if that’s impacting it….

Daisychains9 · 13/05/2025 21:55

Thank you, I hope so too! X

Daisychains9 · 13/05/2025 21:55

Thank you xx

Iris2024 · 14/05/2025 08:46

Huge congrats @Daisychains9 ❤️

Do you mind me asking your age and how long you’ve been trying? I’m needing some hope. Had some light pink blood on wipe this morning so looking like AF is here- CD28 and 11DPO.

MrBigsCat · 19/05/2025 13:29

3dpo here
hows everyone else doing?
had quite a strong ovulation this month- pain on both ovaries then a bit of blood on O day so hoping it’s the acupuncture making everything stronger.

finished my 6th acupuncture session now too so the doc said 2-3 months my hormones should be balanced and ready for a pregnancy 🤞🏻

EmberR · 19/05/2025 13:35

Good luck @MrBigsCat all sounds positive!

I am testing with clear blue ovulation kit but still just circle - no flashing face… I am on day 11 so I thought I would be ovulating soon??

CheekyLittleD · 19/05/2025 13:42

I'm on CD10 and since finishing my period 5 days ago have had a lot more watery/sticky cervical mucus than during any of our previous four TTC cycles. My cycles also seem to be shortening (down from 60 days to 38 for the last one), so I'm taking all this as a win that after stopping the pill in January that my body is getting things back on track.

EmberR · 19/05/2025 16:38

This whole process sucks doesn’t it! Especially being our age and every month it not working feeling like it’s less likely… sorry feeling grumpy about it today

Oh totally. I'm always trying to look for some positives (might have been a BFN last month, but at least I'm building up knowledge about how to increase my chances of a BFP later down the line...) but some days the heavier and sadder thoughts creep in about whether or not I'm just kidding myself that any of this is progress.

I had a major wobble (and a bit of an ugly cry) last week when DH found out his best mate is expecting again. Totally unexpected and unplanned, and less than a year after they had their first. You're not alone x

VioIetMoon · 19/05/2025 18:38

Hi ladies. I'm currently on cd8 . I think this might be our last month trying naturally for a while. We're going to go ahead and attempt one last round of ivf again but they want to put me on contraception for a few months until we start. Seems like it's defeating the purpose.
Hope everyone is feeling ok

EmberR · 19/05/2025 18:51

It’s lovely to have a forum just to vent and share thoughts with no judgement. Thanks all. I just send you all love and best wishes for the right outcome xx

EmberR · 19/05/2025 19:15

At what point do you let it go and just move on? We’re starting to think about adoption and fostering

EmberR · 19/05/2025 20:15

Did a Boots OPK test and got this. But did a clear blue OPK test and it was just a circle? I’m confused. Is this boots one saying I am fertile or no?

hi, sorry I missed this! I'm just going to copy and past from an early post of mine in March this year which tells my story. I am now however 40, not 39 (April birthday!). All my fingers crossed for you and I hope this helps xx

"Hi everyone, it has been really comforting to read everyone's experiences on here and thank you for being such a lovely and supportive group. I am 39, about to turn 40 in a couple of weeks. I had my first son when I just turned 38. It was a fairly easy conception. Prior to this I had had one miscarriage and an eptopic pregnancy (fallopian tube removed). We tried again on his first birthday and I got pregnant straight away. I then had a miscarriagege at 6 weeks which was not picked up until 12 weeks and a failed operation but it eventually resolved.
I became very sick with unrelated infections (including pneumonia) and was in hospital for about a month over the period of two months. It has taken a long time to recover and during that time I was advised not to TTC. I am starting to feel better and have the green light to TTC.
I have just had some fertility tests done and my AMH has fallen dramatically (maybe because of having been so unwell), but my follical count is 12. The advice has been that I can try natually for another month but I need to start IVF if it does not work. I have my fingers crossed I will concieve this month, I have been taking all supplements etc and eating well.
It has just felt like such a rough ride and so many months of not being able to try. But fingers crossed."

VioIetMoon · 19/05/2025 21:23

@EmberR looks negative . Do you usually ovulate around same cycle day

VioIetMoon · 19/05/2025 21:25

@Daisychains9 sorry you've been so poorly lately. Sending you lots of luck this cycle.
