STILL no period!

Exactly 2 weeks late now, haven't done a test for a few days as don't see much point really, but being 2 weeks late bit weird isn't it?

Saying that though dh & i have had a couple of nights of romantic behaviour since lol .

went to docs at what turned out to be 9+3 as hadn't had a period in a fair while and had all the syptoms. hadn't done a test myself as we were ttc so was fairly certain.

PT came up -ve, as did the other 4 he did and most of the hospital ones. they did a quantitive hcg and it came up 18, so not technically +ve but not -ve either. was told i'd MCed even though i'd had no bleeding. they sent me for a scan and it turned out i was having a perfectly healthy preg... just no hormones

I did do yet another test this afternoon, after holding my wee (was in work! lol), a tescos one, have put a pic in profile AGAIN

I definitely agree you should go to the doctor just to get peace of mind. That Tesco's test is a def negative to me but that doesn't mean to say you aren't for sure does it?

You need a blood test I think.

well, not that rare apparently.....
when i went for the scan she couldn't get a pic on the abdominal scan but told me her SIL had had neg test but a healthy baby so offered to do an internal scan for me rather than recalloing me in 2 weeks as was usual practice!

was more relieved than shocked... i knew something was happening and if i hadn't been preg i would have just had a MC so was such an incredibal moment hearing her say 'well there's definitely a baby there'

can just about make out a faint line on the bottom pic from today. vv faint though.

PT...Did you ever get a pos in that pregnancy then? or did you not bother after the scan as that confirmed how you were feeling?

never bothered.

tested with ds at what later turned out to be 10 weeks and got an extremely faint pos. my one and only pos preg test ever had tested the day before and that test was neg but looked like a line if you squinted

interesting i may be but i'd kill to be able to just test like a normal woman, we're thinking about a third and the thought of all that faffing around and wondering 'am i? amn't i? i feel odd' is making me tense already!

how are you feeling in general btw? do you feel well or do you feel like somethings going on? the only conclusive clues for me both times were the heightened sense of smell and the metallic taste in my mouth

I feel like when i test there is going to be a strong BFP, but there isn't and to begin with we were not TTC or anything and had the signs to say i thought i might be, i still have those signs now but now i am looking for them because of what has been happening and no strong pos test... i don't know.

My biggest sign personally when pg with my dd and ds was from before i got a pos test i just couldn't sleep on my stomach (odd i know!) and i love sleeping on my front, its the one sleeping position i know will get me off to sleep if i can't settle iykwim, and i have this feeling now, but as i said before no real answer as to what is going on.

if the doc tried to fob you off again insist that action be taken, everything you're saying screams out that something is going on, either a preg or a MC, either way you absolutely need to be scanned and if he won't do it insist on a differant doc.

I seriously don't think he will send me for a scan, i think the furthest it will go is i take a urine sample in, it will be tested prob come back neg, bobs your uncle and fanny is your aunt, and that will be that.

I really feel for you, as going through this for me has been a complete nightmare, as i said earlier with my dd & ds it was straight forward, dd i tested pos on day period was due, ds i tested neg day period due but got a pos 4 days later.

think, it could be worse. in our mothers' and grandmothers' times you couldn't even approach the doctor til you'd missed 2 or 3 periods

my mom had the same problem with hormones and tested neg (1983) and was sent home and told to come back if she still hadn't bled in a month

i very much hope he does more for you than a urine test, it's such an odd situation he really is duty bound to have you checked out. like others have said, ectopic pregs have quite similar symptoms and if he misdiagnosed that he'd be at serious risk of litigation so he has to cover his ass

I have no hpts left, so thought hey i will do a OPK, and have added ANOTHER pic lol, now if nothing is happening and i take it as all is normal would i get this result on OPK on CD 4?

I can see the line on the tesco one, v v v faint but it's there.

I am going in a min, its open surgery in the morns so you can just go in and wait.

Have a feeling he is going to think i am a bit mad though lol.

Well i went, held my wee and gave him a sample of my FMU, he said he will send it to the lab, and i have to ring for the results tomorrow between 2pm and 4pm.

What kind of test will the lab do then? just a normal pg test?

pucca, i can see lots of lines on that top test.. not sure which one would be the BFP one though !

they will do a pregnancy test, not sure if it is more sensitive than HPT.

I thought that they will just do a pg test, but surely that won't show anything if i am not getting pos on ones i have bought

I told him about the weird bleed, and he just said "do you feel pg?" and smiled.

yes, is that not a HPT?

at the end of the day, your period has gone AWOL, and you need to know why !

but the odd thing is, on the whole, if you were pregnantm, you would expect strong BFPs

Pucca, they may well do a sensitive pregnancy test on it. I think that basically means that they will check for any leval of hCG, and if it is higher than 5, then you would be considered pregnant - might be wrong on that though.

I am still wondering if you did MC, but then got pregnant again straight away, it would explain all of it, and you might find that in a couple of day's you'd get a stronger BFP?

No i said earlier, i had no HPTs left, so did a OPK for the hell of it, as there has been some whispers that OPK can detect pg too.

That OPK has 2 strong lines, i don't know where you see other lines.

Oh well, waiting game till tomorrow now ho hum, another day won't kill me! lol, especially after 5/6 weeks of this hell.
