Hi all ☺️ I am now starting Cycle 6 TTC baby number one. I know some of us on January thread said it would be good to set up a Feb thread so thought i’d start it.

I should be ovulating around 17-18th so will be testing on 1st Feb!

TTC makes you sooo aware of your body i think! Hope TWW flies by for you, are you an early tester or will you wait ? X

It really does doesn’t it 😅 thank you ☺️ I’ll probably wait until 9/10DPO like usual… I know that’s still early but I kind of like to know if i’m out so I can just relax until AF arrives if that makes sense.

What cycle day are you now? X

Guys does anyone have any words of wisdom about spas in the tww?
Hubbys bday and I booked us a spa day on Saturday. Completely not thinking, I haven't ovulated yet but expect to in the next few days and I know heat - hot baths, jacuzzi's etc aren't good for fertilization and isn't good for sperm either 🤷🏻‍♀️
Don't know what to do, I've already paid quite a bit, if I'm just out again to is month will be all for nothing if I miss out. Bit also don't want to lower my chances and then be thinking 'what if'

I’d recommend the same as @BerrieSweet ☺️ go to the spa, try not to think about it too much and just enjoy it! Heat can affect swimmers if they’re exposed to it a lot but a spa break won’t hurt. Hope ovulation comes for you soon.

Hi all - joining from the Jan thread! I'm a little later in my cycle than everyone so far as AF has literally just arrived so CD1 here we go again!... In the feeling very sorry for myself stage today but hoping to start thinking more positively about on to the next cycle soon. First step will be to buy some OPKs so I can properly track things this month. Last month we went for DTD every 2-3 days around my likely fertile window but clearly that didn't work!

Hiya ☺️ welcome to the Feb thread! Sorry you’re feeling a bit down today after AF’s arrival… day 1 of AF is never nice. Wishing you all the best this month and hope the OPKs are helpful. I’ve used them now for 6 cycles so let us know if you have any questions x

Thanks @Kateb149 ☺️ it certainly helps having people to share the journey with. And ask questions of! I'm thinking of getting the clear blue pink ones - they are pricey (!) but seem simple. Is the idea that if you get a smiley you are likely to ovulate the next day? Do you start using them roughly in the middle of your cycle?
I hope this cycle isn't dragging too much for you!

I’ve used the clearblue ones and the premom ones before. It depends which clearblue one you get… but mine gives me two ‘smiley’ days which are my most fertile days. It measures LH so I am guessing you’re right and you ovulate the day after you get the last smiley.

The instructions tell you when to start depending on how long your cycle is… I think I started on Day 11 from memory. I found it really easy to use but just pricey which is why I’ve just stuck with the premom ones for now.

Oh the TWW always drags 😂 i’m hoping I can keep busy the next week or so and try to forget about it for a while! 🤞

I'm sorry youre feeling rubbish. I'm. CD 1 today and feel the same. I'm on cycle 5 now on OPKs I had a MMC in June, before that we weren't trying and I was smoking and everything before I found out. Quit right away. This time we're actually trying, I'm eating right, taking supplements, not smoking or drinking (never drank much anyway but now not even special occasions) and nothing 😕 it's so disheartening x

I've been using the Premom ones but I've just bought the clear blue advanced one for this cycle. It says it finds 4 smiley days and I hope that helps to make it a bit easier as sometimes I'm thinking it's dark enough to be a high day and then peak takes ages and it wasn't the right day 🙄 might help me to stop micromanaging too 😂

Was just looking for refills though and can't seem to find them on amazon. Just a whole new kit again?

Sunshine924 · 22/01/2025 07:13

@littlefox90 I'm so sorry to hear about your MC, and that the journey is tough for you too! Will this be your first baby? Good for you making the lifestyle changes! I decided I'm not going to stop everything - I don't drink much at all but I do enjoy a glass of wine every Friday and Saturday night and think I'd feel depressed if I started restricting that if this goes on for a long time. I also go to a gym with a sauna and I do go in that too. I think it's mixed what people do guess everyone has to choose what they feel comfortable with.
I take some prenatal vits with folic acid in aside from that I'm not doing anything special. I'm 33 DH is 35 and we have a little boy who is 2.

I totally get what you mean… last cycle I thought I peaked at 0.99 and then the next day I got 1.23! Hopefully the clearblue ones are a bit clearer for you.

I’m not sure about the refills… if Amazon don’t have any you could try boots?

littlefox90 · 22/01/2025 08:54

@Sunshine924 This will be my second although my first is 18 next month! I'm 34 and so id DH so we're a similar age too 😊

I don't think drinking at the weekends or the odd sauna is bad. I only quit the drinking too as it was literally Christmas and social occasions really so wasn't a big give for me.

@Kateb149 theyre so much hassle the Premom ones. Then it just adds stress to baby dancing as I feel like I'm pushing to get all the chances in and saying to DH it counts only for the app to change the dates 😂

Room4onemore · 22/01/2025 09:40

Cycle day 10 for me, didn’t have time to test this morning so I kept a sample and am off home to do it now lol

carolinep3 · 22/01/2025 10:08

@littlefox90 the clear blue ones don't do refills, you have to buy a whole new kit! I have so many testers completely packaged still because I just need the refills! Such a waste!

Congratulations 🥰

Hi everyone!
We have been trying for over 2 years now... but we try again!! Thought might be helpful and less lonely to come on here.

Should be ovulating weekend if the 1st Feb, which is actually the one year anniversary of us losing my father in law.... So not ideal but just feels like the universe is laughing at us at the mo so not a surprise really!!

Best of luck to you all this month! xx

Ahhh cycle twins (I think), I’m also due to ovulate around the 1st Feb 😊. Also ttc over 2 years so feel your pain! Nice to know someone else will have similar TWW timings

Are you trying for your first as well?

Sending you positive vibes!! We've got this 😊

Fortunately I already have a child. I always had a feeling I’d struggle to conceive as I had known cysts and irregular cycles since I can remember. Was trying for just over a year with her, assumed it would be similar this time but never expected it to be 2+ years and nothing!

Fingers crossed for us all this cycle! Are you doing anything different this time?

Aww lovely! Bless you, it's so hard isn't it. When I came off the pill my periods went really irregular and I'm in a regular cycle now (I think) but they are about 32-35 days long normally?

We've had a bit of a tough time over the last few years so I'm hoping as that calms down, my stress levels will and it will happen but I am starting to lose hope. It's so heartbreaking every month. I am turning 31 very soon so starting to freak out, as you do.

Also getting more serious with less caffeine, alcohol and eating healthier/moving more. Are you?

Any tips welcome!!!! xx

BerrieSweet · 22/01/2025 14:03

Do someone also have a transition day or two before your fertile days where it's not EWCM yet, but it's not normal consistency either. It's like a combination of normal and EWCM before it gets totally just EWCM?

I had my first at 31 so you’re definitely in the right side of 30’s that it shouldn’t affect anything age wise 😊. I’m approaching 35 now so definitely feel like my time is almost up.

Same as you really. Less caffeine and I’m currently doing dry Jan. I’ll try cut down moving forward in general, but I’m definitely looking forward to a wine on the 1st Feb 😂. Also cut out carbs and exercising more. Figured if I can’t have another baby at least I can get into better shape

Yes I get this! It’s between EWCM and a thicker type of discharge.

I found the below article quite helpful on Page 7 which explains this:

Oh really!! Thank you so much for telling me that 😊 I do know of a few people having babies late 30s early 40s so hopefully plenty of time but completely understand the worry.

Oh me too 😂🥂 it's hard, I am definitely drinking less but I find it's the only positive when the dreaded period comes that I can have a drink still 😂 Keeping everything crossed xx

Hi all. Have also joined from the Jan group.
We're TTC #1, this is month 8 for me. Expecting to ovulate around the 3rd but cycle is quite variable so will be OPK testing from about CD10. Currently CD2.
So hard to just wait patiently for the magic to happen but fingers crossed for Feb for all of us
