I’m 6dpo so still early TTC for baby no 3. Eating disorder has haunted me so baby no 1 took a lot of work then conceived baby no 2 3 months after baby no 1. Old habits crept in so had to work hard to even get a period this time. I’ve tender boobs which are quite veiny and milky discharge so staying positive.
not an easy road and so grateful, I know so many women endure harder journeys

LuxyLocket · 01/01/2025 19:53

Hi @Emiily887 and welcome ladies happy new year to all. Here we are into 2025 but let’s continue with the wonderful support 🩷✨month 5 ttc our first after a mc. Had a fertility mot last month which helped me feel more positive.
cd 11 today and we’ve dtd yesterday and will aim for every other day now I’m in the fertile window but trying to keep things relaxed.
only thing I’m doing differently from now is taking low dose aspirin as advised by my fertility dr.

ThatNimbleOP · 01/01/2025 20:06

Hello!

Cycle 4 for me, still going…I’m so bad at continuing these threads so do excuse me if I don’t really to anyone 😆

@LuxyLocket where did you get your fertility MOT done, was it private?

Glad to hear it went well!

LuxyLocket · 01/01/2025 20:20

@ThatNimbleOP yes it was private, we went to the Agora clinic as that was the nearest for us and had a couple of friends have positive experiences there.
It was £495 for a couples mot, so scan and blood tests for me and a semen analysis for my dh. Plus a follow up consultation afterwards.
Thank you and best of to you as well! Into a new cycle and a fresh year, new outlook.

Hi Ladies, long time lurker here (from the December thread), and thought I’d make my first post as this thread has really helped me.
You all have been so open and honest, I felt compelled to give a little back by sharing my story too.

My DH (42yrs) and I (37yrs) have been TTC our first baby since July 2022. We took it easy for the first 18 months or so - we had a lot on (wedding + buying and renovating a house), but have really knuckled Down for the last 6 months.

I’m using the clear blue ovulation test kit to detect my LH surge, and my cycles have been 29 days pretty consistently - ovulating on around CD16

The tricky thing is; my husband suffers from ED, so it has been difficult for us with timings. We’ve communicated really well through it, as he (and I) come to terms with it. After much research, we are now trying self insemination.

Last cycle, we DTD (so to speak) on the day of the LH surge (CD15), the day after (CD16) and the next day (CD17/18).
I was positive that this would be our month, but got a BFN on CD28 and AF arrived bang on time. Sigh.

I’m now on CD4, and I’m really trying to stay positive.
We’ll try again, of course, but wondering what more I can do to help our chances. @LuxyLocket that’s very interesting about the aspirin. I’m going to look into if this would be good for me too.

Best of luck to everyone this year. Lots of baby dust to us all xx

FMc208 · 02/01/2025 08:24

Hi all, can I join?

Currently 2dpo TTC #2. This will be our 4th cycle. I try my hardest each month not to test early but by around 8dpo I start getting antsy!

Also going to try my hardest not to symptom spot but again I say that every month!

Lots of luck to you all!

KittyFantastica · 02/01/2025 09:05

Hi ladies, I'll pop in and also update on the December thread as we DTD over Christmas, so this would be a Christmas miracle indeed for us if it happens.

Hi @HopeB I've heard of great success with home insemination, and if it helps then it's a good idea! You may want to give inseminating a day or two earlier a go as well to improve chances. You're in with a good chance from the dates you've got. There's lots of research to suggest having plenty of sperm waiting for the egg from a day or two before ovulation can improve chances. I'm 36 and I track using digitals too, and strips, and am aware my surge to peak time is incredibly fast - like within half an hour - so I likely ovulate within the 12-24 hour period after it rather than the 24-48 period.

Obviously, not a certainty, it never is, but I might be that bit of extra help for the egg.

xTinkerbell · 02/01/2025 09:14

Can I join?

Planning to start ttc for baby 4 this month, literally started my period yesterday. Last month we didn’t prevent but didn’t try either but now we’re officially trying.

Conceived first three easily but a little more anxious this time. Husband has a variocele which although his doctor said shouldn’t impact anything google makes me sorry. I also developed gum disease in my last pregnancy which is almost but not quite under control and I’ve read some things that say that can impact on fertility. I also struggle with very short cycles so all that just makes me worry that we may not be as lucky this time.

Thank you for sharing your story @HopeB it’s so good to share, as sharing is knowledge and knowledge is power.
sounds like you’re doing the right things tracking ovulation, I also use the CB digital opk, I think they are really good.
the aspirin will be interesting yes, I just take low dose 75mg a day. I’m in no way an expert just thought I’d take the advice of the fertility dr as they know what they are talking about and a low dose like that can’t hurt.
the only other thing is taking some good supplements for both of you, though I’m assuming if you’ve been trying you’re doing that anyway. We both take the Procieve range and I also take omega 3 and co-q10 which is good for egg quality.
we try to loosely follow the smep method so making sure we’ve dtd the run up to peak day so there are already sperm there waiting but we try and keep things relaxed as well.
It’s all just pot luck as completely ironically the month we did get pregnant that resulted in the mc we weren’t tracking or anything and it was just one occasion spontaneously. Now 5 months on doing all the stuff you’re meant to do and still we’ve not conceived still it’s ironic but for healthy couples it can take a year or more so we just have to keep on going and believe it will happen. ✨✨sending you all the hope, luck and dust

HopeB · 02/01/2025 11:28

@KittyFantastica I’ve got everything crossed that it turns out to be a Christmas miracle for you guys 💕
I think you’re absolutely right, as I don’t know exactly when my peak is (just the LH surge), it would help to have some sperm defiantly up there, waiting - just in case I peak really quickly too.
I think I’ll try to test for my peak this cycle. If you don’t mind, which strips do
You use?
I really hope the self insemination works. We’re going to give it up to 6 months I think, and then we’ll get check out (eep).
Thank you so much ☺️

@LuxyLocket no, thank you for reading. It felt really good to write it all out and actually hit ‘post’ ☺️
You’re absolutely right, such a low dose can’t hurt. I read the NHS report on it, and I actually do fit 2 or more of the criteria, so I think I’ll add it to my pill organiser, for sure.
We are taking supplements (iron especially and vitamin D3 for me, as I was low at my last blood test - I have my bloods taken every 3 months or so for an existing condition) plus multivitamins & folic acid, but I haven’t heard of co-q10. If it helps with egg quality (especially with me just turning 37), and your results as proof, I’ll be picking some up today too 😊
Thank you so much! Yes, knowledge is power 💪

I’m so sorry about your MC. Like you say, it’s so ironic, isn’t it.
We have been putting off booking a holiday - just in case - but I think we just need to relax a bit and actually do it. Who knows. That could really help us.

You’re all so kind. Thank you again! And sending all the baby dust and positive energy to everyone here ✨ xx

KittyFantastica · 02/01/2025 13:29

Thank you @HopeB ❤️ 2024 was a rotten year for us. I fell pregnant first cycle trying in December last year but lost it at 6 weeks. I then fell pregnant off the back of that loss and had a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks. I took two months for my cycle to return, and even then it was only 18 days long. We weren't trying as didn't think it could happen with no proper cycle, but fell pregnant with our little boy end of May/beginning of June. Sadly, I went into premature labour at 19 weeks in September and he died at birth.

We are both 36, so time is getting on and we still don't know what caused our son's death, so it could happen again. They've told us to 'just go with it'. Massive leap of faith.

So, we could really do with that magic! 🤞✨🦄

Ncl31 · 02/01/2025 21:09

Thanks for starting the new thread.
7DPO currently, no symptoms yet. AF due a week today.

HopeB · 02/01/2025 23:10

Oh @KittyFantastica , I’m so, so sorry. My love to you guys 😢
I don’t know where the strength to keep going comes from, but I’m glad you have it.
It will all be worth it!
Like you, I’m feeling the ticking clock, and it really sucks. But we’ll keep going too ☺️
2025 WILL be our year. That goes for everyone here ✨❤️ xx

KittyFantastica · 03/01/2025 11:25

I don't know how we do it either @HopeB Honestly, if it wasn't for my lovely husband, I'd have given up on life in September. It makes all the difference even going down the TTC road again to have such lovely people to travel it with ❤️

@Ncl31 I'm 6DPO and AF is due next Thursday for me. When do you think you'll test?

I'm having a bit of a downer today. My husband woke me up 20 minutes before my smart watch took my temp this morning, and the temp reading has absolutely plummeted well below my baseline on my chart. I know it's not unusual to have a secondary oestrogen surge around about now, but I didn't have one when I fell pregnant with our little boy, and I can't help but compare. The next week can't go fast enough.

Renee33 · 03/01/2025 16:35

Hi everyone another lurker here. Every month I say we are trying officially, but then we don't follow through 🤣. So this month might be the actual first month we actually try for baby number 3.

I am CD 7 today and should ovulate CD17. Congrats to those of you that have your BFPs, wishing the best for all xx

AmberARK · 03/01/2025 16:53

Hi everyone! This is officially my first post on here. This is our first month TTC our first baby together. My partner already has a 13 year old son & I turn 30 this year.

I came off the pill over 2 years ago now after being on it for 12 years so I'm really excited and anxious to start on this incredible journey.

I'm CD5 so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for everyone this month!

xx

Mrscmay17 · 03/01/2025 21:35

Hi ladies
Jumping on this as very similar to @Renee33 I keep saying this is the month we will start trying for no3, but some reason crops up to delay. But I stopped pill after last period so we will see how it goes 🙈 hopefully some baby dust for all of us 🥰

Ncl31 · 04/01/2025 08:26

Because I’m a POAS addict I tested this morning at 9DPO, I swear there’s a shadow which was there by the time I washed my hands after peeing.
can anyone else see it?
I’ve had a nasty indent off these tests previously though so I’m scared it’s just that again.

Hey, can I join?

Currently 9 DPO TTC2 on cycle 12 now but long cycles and 3 chemicals in between. I think I'm on CD43 now but had a late peak on Xmas day. Hoping it brings me some luck.

I have been having so many symptoms but refrained from testing just did an LH this morning to get rid of the urge to test.

Wishing everyone lots of luck x

@Ncl31 this looks like a positive to me but maybe wait and retest in 2 days to be sure?

Thanks, I know I’ll end up testing tomorrow too. I just wanted to check I wasn’t actually seeing things. The line was definitely there within 2 minutes.

SMD16 · 04/01/2025 09:07

@Ncl31 oh I say test in two days knowing full well if it was me I'd be testing this afternoon after trying to hold as long as possible 🤣

The struggle is real.
i know 2 days would be best and I’d be giving everyone else that same advice. It’s difficult to not test though, especially when there’s 50 IC sitting in the bathroom cabinet!

SMD16 · 04/01/2025 09:19

@Ncl31 yep it's hard isn't it!

I refrained this morning by doing an LH test but have so many tests in the house.
