Hi ladies, a new thread for us to continue the amazing support into the new year.
Praying this thread will hold the key to many positives🩷
I’m currently on CD4 today and looking forward to a fresh cycle. We have now hit the one year mark TTC no. 3 so hoping for a miracle soon xxx

@SMD16 yes it is strange! I've not been ill; I had a CP last cycle but wasn't aware that would effect things. I guess without doing tests I won't know for definite; I thought though that too can still be ovulating even if no EWCM so hope that's the case and we are covered by DTD every other day... I'm on CD12 now so in what I think should be the window....

Ncl31 · 04/01/2025 20:38

@SMD16 oh I’m sorry you’ve had that letter today after what could possibly have been an exciting day.
will EPU be open tomorrow for you to ring? It’s awful not being able to have answers.

KittyFantastica · 04/01/2025 21:28

So sorry for that nasty shock @SMD16

I don't know if it will reassure you at all, but I've also been tested for this (and a huge amount of other things) due to my second trimester loss of our baby boy in September. They did my eight week bloods about two weeks before Christmas, and I still haven't had them back yet. However, when we mentioned to our bereavement midwives that we wanted to try again and asked when we could, they told us we had the green light and that if any pregnancies were detected before those results, they would treat from as soon as the results came back. They also said they can provide aspirin, blood thinners and progesterone if I need it from day 1 as I'd had 3 miscarriages.

I know it's upsetting news, but there are things they can do now they know this may be the case for you even if you already have a positive. Some baby aspirin at the very least isn't going to do any harm.

SMD16 · 04/01/2025 22:09

@KittyFantastica thank you for sharing and I hope you have your results very soon and they give you some answers. I also hope they speak to you first not via a letter because today has been traumatic. Let's hope EPU gets back to me tomorrow but I may just go and get some low dose aspirin tomorrow regardless. I'm
Also glad to hear they treat you as though you've had a 2nd positive result that's a relief.

The bloods must be taking a while with the Christmas period as I had mine on 4th December and only got the letter today.

SMD16 · 04/01/2025 22:10

@Sunshine924 I know everyone is different and my cycles are varied anyway but after each CP my cycles were longer. Could just be ovulation delayed from that 🙏🏻

dev86 · 04/01/2025 22:47

Hey guys 🩷

Long time lurker here, never thought I would actually post but everyone seems so supportive and lovely.

Am 38, husband 42, currently TTC #2 after taking years to come to the decision to try… DD is almost 5.

Came off progesterone only pill finally in July, holiday abroad in August/cycle readjusting, conceived end of September, positive test early October, MMC mid November at 9 weeks (growth had stopped at 6 weeks/slow heartbeat).

Started bleeding lightly which felt wrong, went for scan which confirmed the above, sent home for a week to wait it out, started bleeding heavily the night before follow up scan, admitted to hospital via A&E in a poor state (low iron, tissue stuck in cervix that was causing the heavy blood loss), resulting in a D&C a couple of days later.

Finally got period on Boxing Day, currently day 10! I use natural cycles app and have the cheapie Amazon ovulation strips so will be testing every morning this week. Planning to DTD every couple of days too (I usually ovulate around day 16) HOWEVER frustratingly we are both super ill with the flu at the moment!

Feel anxious and nervous about it all as am sure many can relate. Also starting to beat myself up about my age. It feels good to get it all out and hope for a virtual hand hold 🩷

Sending baby dust for 2025 for all of us ✨ It WILL be our year!

KittyFantastica · 04/01/2025 23:05

Bless you @SMD16 how awful to let you find out like that. I hope they can give you some answers and reassurance tomorrow.

SMD16 · 05/01/2025 08:11

@KittyFantastica I hope so too, fingers crossed people make it in with the snow! How are you doing this cycle?

LuxyLocket · 05/01/2025 10:15

@SMD16 im so sorry to hear this what an awful thing to have it like that in a letter, can only imagine how you’re feeling right now! I really hope they give you some further answers and support, please keep up updated 🙏🙏

@dev86 thank you for sharing your story and I’m so so sorry for your loss, it’s definitely good to write it out sometimes and we are all here to keep eachother going. Awful to say really but it shows how common having some sort of hurdle is as sounds like we all have had very similar experiences. So we can take comfort in that we all know how it feels and can virtually hold eachothers hand as you say.
how frustrating about being unwell with flu over this time, I hope you’re feeling better soon and wishing all the dust for this cycle and beyond ✨✨

dev86 · 05/01/2025 11:15

@LuxyLocket thank you so much. I’m very glad to be here and feel well surrounded by people who “get it”. How are you getting on with everything?

The flu just continues on… I really hope we will turn a corner this week as ovulation should normally be happening around Friday and I don’t want to miss it.

Vitamins wise I have just been taking D and folic acid, now I’m wondering if I should add CoQ10 to the mix and possibly the low dose aspirin just for the hell of it?

After my MC the nurse at the hospital said I could go for early scans if there is a next time and that I could also have the progesterone pessary. I was happy about this because I had thought they only offer this once you’ve had recurrent MC, but they did offer it anyway.

LuxyLocket · 05/01/2025 11:49

@dev86 absolutely to that 👍we completely get it. Which is very refreshing when friends etc are being as supportive as they can but unless you’ve walked these shoes you can’t fully empathise. also it’s nice to talk ttc with people who are on the same journey! All my friends already have a baby so it’s nice to connect.

1dpo today and feel good that we’ve done all we can. I’m just waiting and seeing now as early testing did not work for me in the past as I got my hopes up. For the next week I’m away on a school trip so that will pass one of the weeks at least.
folic acid and vit D is good, I take the Procieve range which has all the right amounts in. I also take co-q10 as well which is expensive for one thing! But I’ve heard it’s great for egg quality. I don’t think there’s anything to hurt with adding in the low dose aspirin.
thats great the hospital offered the progesterone as usually nhs don’t offer until 3 mcs which isn’t good. Who wants to have to wait for 3 to get support, 1 is bad enough. So I’m really pleased to hear that nurse offered it I reckon you could push for it as well. I have already asked about progesterone with our fertility clinic.
is this ttc your first? Sorry if I missed that further up.

dev86 · 05/01/2025 12:44

@LuxyLocket Thank you so much. Yes definitely and it’s also great to have a safe space to debrief day by day on the minute steps of this whole process… better than keeping it all bottled up inside!

I am going to check out the CoQ10 I think. I would literally try anything. Might have some aspirin in the medicine cabinet, I’ll have a look.

Bless you and good luck for where you’re at right now. The TWW can be so incredibly hard. I find it so hard not to test early and every time I go in Boots those “6 days early” digital tests are literally shouting at me from the shelves… I have to like run out of the shop to get away haha. So glad you have a school trip though to keep your mind occupied… it’s trying to get through day by day, moment by moment. I’m constantly making check lists of days and ticking them off as I go. Can’t believe this is my life…

I think it’s great about the progesterone too. I really hope you can get it. Makes absolutely no sense to ask people to wait for 3… like you say 1 is bad enough. I do already have 1 child, DD 4 years old. We just told her this morning about my loss, she knew I’d had a poorly tummy and came to see me in the hospital back in November but I really wanted her to know. From what I understand, going through all this when it’s trying for your first child is a whole other level of difficulty and my heart just goes out to everyone who is experiencing that. I did read a really good book recently “No one talks about this stuff” which I would recommend, and I have been to a few online Cradle connected meetings which have been super helpful.

PamelaDoov · 05/01/2025 13:03

Hi all, please can I join? First month ttc number 3! Currently 2dpo, confirmed with opks and temping. My luteal phase is very short, sometimes only a week long, so I worry about a pregnancy not being able to stick in time (although I did manage to conceive my second child with a short LP)

PamelaDoov · 05/01/2025 13:20

@dev86 I’ve only briefly read your recent posts but I recommend coq10 as well! It really helps with keeping my cycles regular, and I believe it helped me get/stay pregnant with my daughter last time

LuxyLocket · 05/01/2025 13:21

@dev86 thank you so much for those words, and yeah it’s really tough as we lost our first baby and we just desperately want a child, family keeping saying to me ‘it’ll happen!’ And I do try and stay positive that it will but technically I have no proof that my body can carry a baby and that scares me sometimes, I just have to believe. Doing the fertility mot did help with some of that fear.
Having said that it doesn’t devalidate or take away how it feels whether you already have a child or not 💕just wish none of us had to go through this but I hope we all get our 2025 babies.
That’s very admirable that you told you dd and were quite open (age appropriate) about it. That must have been a conversation you didn’t think you’d have to have. Hugs.
and thank you about the book recommendation as well and the meetings online, I didn’t know about those.

@Sunshine924 I know everyone is different and my cycles are varied anyway but after each CP my cycles were longer. Could just be ovulation delayed from that 🙏🏻

Thanks that's helpful - will just keep going and see what happens this month. I've sort of written it off already but might just be trying to protect myself from the hope and then disappointment which could follow.
I'm so sorry about your letter I hope you get some clarity and things keep progressing for you 🙏 💝

FMc208 · 05/01/2025 15:49

Well 5dpo today and started to get the usual spots/headaches before AF 😔 not due until the 14th but I can just feel that I’m out this month.

Dpes anyone have any positive stories to share about plus size pregnancy? I’m a few stone heavier than I was when I conceived DD and although I’m trying to eat better, I’d like to hear some success stories!

KittyFantastica · 05/01/2025 20:07

8DPO (I think) today for me and no signs whatsoever. Before I got my BFP at 9DPO with my boy, I was having hot flushes and fatigue from 7DPO. I knew I wasn't pregnant last cycle and I can already tell this one is over too. AF is due on Wednesday or Thursday, but it's been a horrendously stressful weekend and I even had a drink tonight. I hate January.

I've got spots and had cramping on and off all day yesterday. Very early for me, and I don't usually get either before AF, but I have no feeling whatsoever, so I know it's over. I can't comment on plus size pregnancy, but I know plenty of plus size mums who managed okay 🙂

PamelaDoov · 05/01/2025 20:15

@FMc208 I conceived 3 times when I was overweight, it’s not as much of a big deal as we are lead to think. 2 of them ended in MC but that was nothing to do with me being overweight.

MillenialAvocado · 05/01/2025 20:26

Hi please can I join? We're currently mid cycle for a frozen embryo transfer, I have a scan tomorrow to see how the estrogen has been working. We're trying for a sibling for DS, who is also an ivf baby.

lynzmb · 05/01/2025 21:11

In a similar boat to you @dedev86 - I'm 40, TTC#2, DS will be 7 in a few weeks. I also have the flu and nearly two weeks in I'm absolutely wiped out still. I'm due to ovulate this week - praying for faint lines on OPKs as I honestly don't think I could dtd just now! But don't want to miss a cycle as this will be month 6 of trying

dev86 · 05/01/2025 21:44

@PamelaDoov Hi, and thank you so much that’s really helpful to know. I am thinking I’m definitely going to give it a whirl. Also I love your username as it’s giving me funny League of Gentlemen memories haha!

@LuxyLocket Thank you. I can only imagine how hard it must be. And never having been pregnant, it won’t necessarily feel like a given thing either. People are so well meaning and you can see where they are coming from but of course one is bound to think “well what if it doesn’t?”. It’s a massive effort to keep the hope and optimism going, at times like these I just have to think of people who’ve been through great tragedies and have managed to pull through and that inspires me… my best friend's daughter was stillborn at full term a couple of years ago and how she picked herself up again after that is a constant inspiration to me. I’ve just started listening to a podcast too (love my podcasts and books!) called “Everything happens” and it’s about this very thing!

Yes the cradle meetings are ace I would definitely recommend to anyone who has had a loss, such a safe & supportive space and I always feel much better afterwards. The link is https://bookwhen.com/cradle

@KittyFantastica I hope you’re hanging in there. It must be such a difficult time and I think if you need a drink to get through, it’s all good you do what you need. I’m ever so sorry that your little boy didn’t make it. Life is cruel. What was his name, if you feel ok to share?

@lynzmb Hi, OMG perhaps we’ve had the same flu! Isn’t it a killer?? I haven’t had one this bad for about 15 years!! And the law of the bloody sod it’s during ovulation week. All of the temperatures I’m entering on my app are being discounted as a result, thankfully so far my ovulation strips are all negative (I do tend to ovulate quite later as a rule anyway, the earliest ever being day 15 I think) so I’m just trying to power through. Having said that, being on the pill for ages then having a MC blew everything out of the water anyway so god knows what’s going on. To top it all off, my trusty thermometer (had it years) went mysteriously missing the other day - just as I was about to start measuring for real this cycle after my recovery finished! Literally vanished off my bedside table and I had to order a new one. Cue my overactive brain starting to think “it’s a sign, you shouldn’t be trying for a second kid” all that bullshit all over again. I’m sick to death of it!

Emiily887 · 06/01/2025 19:41

@FMc208 I conceived my son whilst overweight (I suffer with endometriosis so have a lot of fluid retention and struggled to loose weight I gained whilst on hormone therapy previously). So with a lot in the mix it was still possible.
There is a lot of things that can cause trouble when TTC, being overweight, underweight and even being a ‘healthy’ weight - please don’t focus on it too much. If you want to lose weight, lose weight but if you don’t and you’re not experiencing any health concerns then carry on doing what you are doing because there’s already so much pressure on us women to be a certain way and to conceive straight away. Sending love xxx
