TTC in 2025!

Hi everyone, thought I’d make my first thread here to see if there’s anyone else planning to conceive in 2025? 🥰 I’m feeling so excited but also a little nervous as I have a cyst on my ovary. It doesn’t cause me any pain or symptoms but it’s being referred to as a suspected endometrioma so that causes me some anxiety! The gynaecologist told me I won’t know if it affects fertility until I try and he isn’t too worried. However that doesn’t stop my nerves! I really hope 2025 will be the year, I feel so ready to be a mum now. 🥹

My fiancé and I are planning to start TTC in April! Just started on my folic acid/vitamin d tablets and it’s starting to feel very real! Eek 🥰❤️ Anyone else in a similar position? I’d love to know any tips on how to best prepare my body in advance and any tips for my other half too!

I don't always trust premom - keep testing for the next few days and see if it comes down or keeps going up, but FWIW they look positive to me! Get busy 😂

Yeah Premom was off for me. I ended up using the pink clear blue opk which told me I ovulated a day later than premom told me. Once I did that I conceived.

SureLook · 20/03/2025 06:27

@TTCFC91 sounds like you timed it very well! Sorry for your loss x

EmCha · 22/03/2025 08:34

Hi everyone, nearly April time! 😁 However, due to my period arriving early this month, we are in two minds whether to hold off trying for another month. My next cycle is due to start around 1st April but with doing the maths, if we were lucky enough to conceive first time, then baby would be due early January so there’s the chance of a Christmas baby if they came early. We are trying to avoid the month of December. So we may wait until May. However, I’ll be out of the country for a week without my fiancé in May and knowing my luck, that’ll be when I ovulate. 😂 So could be June at this rate!

@EmCha there's never a perfect time but I'm trying to avoid a January baby 😂 but I'll be grateful for anything!

Roxanna2000 · 22/03/2025 13:31

Hi. May I join? Also trying to conceive this year. 🤞🏻

Haha yes exactly but thinking for the future, a birthday in December wouldn’t be great for the finances 😂😂

Or course! Have you already started trying or waiting until a particular month? :)

We’ve started trying. I had a miscarriage in January and this is the first month of trying again. I’m on CD16 though and no ovulation yet…! 😫

SureLook · 22/03/2025 19:06

@Roxanna2000 sorry for your loss. I had an MMC in January and this is our first month of trying again. It's an anxious time!

LeafCorner · 22/03/2025 19:16

So sorry for your losses @Roxanna2000 @SureLook. Sadly this isn’t the month for me, AF arrived. So disappointing, but trying to look ahead. In two minds about pausing to avoid a Dec baby, but then again, I don’t want to miss an opportunity because you just never know how long this journey could end up being. Is anyone else going to pause to avoid Dec?

SureLook · 22/03/2025 20:08

@LeafCorner thanks for your kind words. If we conceive this cycle, baby will be due on the 5th of December. If I conceive in April it'll be January which I really don't want. I'd much rather December than January. But I'm not going to skip an opportunity. As you say, who knows how long it might take! Are you TTC for your first? Sorry if you've already said.

Sorry that it’s not your month. Yes I’m waiting to avoid a Dec baby x

Hi @SureLook. Mine was also a MMC at 8 weeks. I’m not sure if my ovulation will be delayed because of it, even though I did wait one cycle which appeared to be normal.

I just don’t think I can stop to avoid certain months anymore. We used to do that early on in our journey, but my husband and I have been trying now for four years so I think we just don’t have that luxury anymore…!

Thisismeme · 23/03/2025 05:30

Hi everyone,

Haven’t managed to catch up in a while as I am just recovering from surgery. I am sorry to hear about your losses, I hope everyone is doing okay.

We are skipping April to avoid a December baby and possibly May too. Although I do need a couple of months recovery ideally. Meanwhile I am taking vitamins and cycle tracking so we are ready to go. I am a little impatient to just get on with it!

Honestruth · 23/03/2025 07:31

Hi everyone,
Id love to join. Firstly, so sorry to hear about the losses. I hope it’s good news from here on for you.
finally admitting to myself I want a forum with like minded parents to chat to. I’m a mum of a 4 year old and myself and fiancé are TTC before we get married in Bali May 2026. We didn’t have to TTC first time round - I get V strong ovulation pain so it happened instantly. This time round we have been TTC since Nov 24 and our time hasn’t come. Feeling low and frustrated about it as I’ve just turned 42 and want to give birth a few months before the wedding. Friends are saying 5 months isn’t long to be TTC and it’ll happen - I’m trying to agree but can’t help to feel low about it. My fiance also starting to feel a way about it too. But we are trying to have high hopes 😊

SureLook · 23/03/2025 07:53

@Roxanna2000 sorry to hear that. It's awful isn't it? I seem to have ovulated twice as normal so far. I also waited for one cycle before TTC. I know what you mean about not wanting to avoid certain months anymore. I'm definitely more anxious this time around.

@Thisismeme I hope your surgery went well.

@Honestruth it's hard when you conceive so easily the first time, you fully expect it to happen again the next time. Keep the faith! Baby dust ✨️

Roxanna2000 · 23/03/2025 09:52

Yes, @SureLook. Conceived my daughter no problems and now realise how very fortunate I was to have no issues at all in that pregnancy (other than sickness the whole way through!). She’s going to be 8 at the end of this year. We’ve been trying since she was 4. I know what my problem is - it’s a blood clotting problem. But it took 3 miscarriages to find that out. So hoping double aspirin and blood thinning injections will work this time! So so so different to my first pregnancy.

Confirmed peak ovulation this morning on CD17, so here’s hoping all goes well…

@Honestruthfive months can feel an eternity. I get you. TTC is such a long process waiting for periods and ovulation to show up!

SureLook · 23/03/2025 11:24

@Roxanna2000 it's wild how different it is isn't it? Will this be your first cycle with the double aspirin and injections?
I conceived my two year old on our first month of trying and had a generally healthy pregnancy and straightforward delivery. Fell pregnant again in three first month of trying in November but that ended in an MMC. I was shocked to say the least.

Roxanna2000 · 23/03/2025 11:33

@SureLooktechnically no. I found out I was pregnant on NYE which was a surprise as we hadn’t been trying that month. I did start aspirin then, but didn’t start the injections until a week after. Maybe that made a difference? I found out at 8 weeks that there was no heartbeat, despite the 6 week scan showing one. It was devastating. But I’ve got the injections ready and waiting now and have been taking aspirin throughout this whole cycle. Let’s see what happens. 🤞🏻How many weeks were you? Hope you have some good news soon.

SureLook · 23/03/2025 11:46

@Roxanna2000 fingers crossed for you. That must have been very hard after seeing a heartbeat initially. I found out when I went in for my NIPT scan at 9+5. Baby was only measuring 7 weeks and no heartbeat. I still had all my pregnancy symptoms but deep down in my gut I knew something was off. It was still very upsetting though.

Roxanna2000 · 23/03/2025 12:44

@SureLookthat must have been difficult. It’s funny isn’t it how our bodies can tell things aren’t right. I was throwing up but it felt different to the sickness with my daughter!

This waiting is awful. How am I going to wait another week to test? How long do you tend to leave it? I think I’ll manage until next weekend. 😂

EmCha · 23/03/2025 14:21

So sorry for your losses. I do in a way feel a bit silly waiting in case it does take us such a long time but I just have no idea how it’ll go. Chances are we won’t be one of those incredibly lucky people who gets pregnant on the first try but I still feel like waiting an extra month may be better for us.

OP posts:
SureLook · 23/03/2025 14:28

@Roxanna2000 yeah, it just felt different. My partner even said to me after we found out that I seemed to be constantly questioning the pregnancy, like saying I don't feel pregnant today. It was just off.

My two previous pregnancies I waited until AF was due but I had implantation bleeding both times so I knew before I even tested. But this time I'm crazy from the MMC so I tested the other day and it was BFN but it was way too early. I knew it wouldn't be positive but I did it anyway. I had to really resist doing it again this morning! When is your AF due?

@EmCha you do what feels best for you! There's no right or wrong time x

Roxanna2000 · 23/03/2025 14:40

@SureLookhow many days are you? My period is due 4 April which is ages away!!

@EmCha do what feels right and works best for you!
