TTC in 2025!

Hi everyone, thought I’d make my first thread here to see if there’s anyone else planning to conceive in 2025? 🥰 I’m feeling so excited but also a little nervous as I have a cyst on my ovary. It doesn’t cause me any pain or symptoms but it’s being referred to as a suspected endometrioma so that causes me some anxiety! The gynaecologist told me I won’t know if it affects fertility until I try and he isn’t too worried. However that doesn’t stop my nerves! I really hope 2025 will be the year, I feel so ready to be a mum now. 🥹

My fiancé and I are planning to start TTC in April! Just started on my folic acid/vitamin d tablets and it’s starting to feel very real! Eek 🥰❤️ Anyone else in a similar position? I’d love to know any tips on how to best prepare my body in advance and any tips for my other half too!

That must be really hard when you’ve been trying for a while. Just seems so unfair doesn’t it? :(

How often do you guys BD? Every other day or everyday during fertile window? I’ve read mixed things about how everyday doesn’t give the sperm chance to replenish?

We're back from the scan now. All confirmed like I thought it would be. The sac had grown but still empty with nothing in it. I've opted for the medical management this time which they also recommended as there's less to pass. So I'm going to start the tablets on Thursday morning when my partner finishes his shift, just so I have someone around in case it kicks off early. I've to go back on Thursday morning for the first tablet and they're going to refer me to the RMC and then we'll go from there I suppose! Feeling exhausted now, it was an emotional morning.

SureLook · 24/06/2025 15:06

@EmCha everything I've read has said every second day is enough to catch. And that it's more important before OV day than after.

This thread has been so quiet. How is everyone?

Im in my 2 week wait after my first ovulation whilst TTC (I have pcos so it hasn’t happened until now!) I got a really dark OPK that came out as 2.6 on the Premom app! I had to wake my husband last night I was in so much pain from what I assume was ovulation. Trying not to get too excited but it’s been really positive this cycle ❤️ How are you doing?

SureLook · 05/07/2025 18:52

I finished taking the tablets for my blighted ovum on Sunday and I'm back to work on Monday. It was all very manageable, assuming everything came out that is.
I'm gonna wait for my period and then we're gonna try again. The EPU said to contact them if we fall pregnant again and they'll see me at 6/7 weeks and start me on progesterone. It's great to have that reassurance and knowing that someone will monitor me.
Where are you in your cycle @EmCha ?

Glad to hear you’ve finished your tablets now and that’s great that they’re being so supportive. Got everything crossed for you for the next cycle.

I’m doing great thanks @chlxe97 and I’m on cycle day 14 today @SureLook :) Got a very clear peak on the OPK yesterday morning which is exciting! I’m not testing as much this time around, just once a day when I felt I was likely ovulating due to EWD. Trying not to stress too much and just enjoy it!

Oh and one thing I have been doing is taking my temperature every morning. It was the highest it’s been this morning which indicates to me that ovulation was yesterday which lines up with my few tests I did. Trying not to get too excited but feeling proud of us for getting the timing right this time around!

OP posts:
SureLook · 06/07/2025 07:40

I tested this morning and there was a faint line still. But I'd say I'll definitely be negative within the three weeks time frame. I'm looking forward to getting back to TTC. Third time luck hopefully 🌈✨️❤️

@EmCha sounds like you've timed it perfectly. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

I have quite intense cramping today. I’m only 2 DPO so can’t be implantation but just wondering if anyone has ever experienced this before? Really uncomfortable dull feeling!

I actually had some odd cramping and twinges a few days after ovulation, I have no idea what it was and was very mild. You never know!

SureLook · 08/07/2025 12:19

@EmCha it's so hard to know. I think we over analyse every little thing in the TWW. It would be very early for it to be implantation cramping. It's most likely bowel/gas unfortunately.

EmCha · 08/07/2025 12:23

Yeah it’s hard isn’t it? I tried so hard to ignore it but I was actually in a fair bit of pain! Went for a run and it was so distracting. Felt like period cramps and went on all day. I wonder if my cyst could have burst and leaked fluid into my abdomen maybe. 🤔 I’m back to normal today!

OP posts:
SureLook · 08/07/2025 13:18

@EmCha oh I forgot about your cyst. Are you gonna just monitor and see if it happens again?

Yeah I think so! I had a scan in May and my cyst had shrunk which is a really good sign so I wonder if it’s getting smaller with every period I have.

OP posts:
SureLook · 08/07/2025 14:44

@EmCha ah, that's good. That's probably all it was then.

EmCha · 14/07/2025 13:47

Still in the dreaded two week wait. I’m 9DPO, body temp still raised. Boobs are so sore but that’s not new for me. I’m avoiding taking tests until 12DPO maybe even 13 as I can’t put myself though all the negatives again. It was too stressful last month. I fly to Spain on Friday night for my friends wedding over the weekend and as much as I’d rather wait until 14DPO, I want to test before I go as I’m bridesmaid and need to know whether to expect AF! I’m preparing for it to be negative this time around but who knows.

OP posts:
SureLook · 14/07/2025 14:29

@EmCha the TWW just draaaaags doesn't it? I'm the same as you, I try and wait until at least 12dpo as seeing the stark white negatives are just so hard. Will you test Friday morning then?

TMI but I passed the sac on Wednesday morning. It took its time coming out! But I've stopped bleeding since then so hopefully everything is settling now. There is the faintest line still when I test. I think I'll test on Wednesday again.

It really does! Yes Friday morning is my plan.

Aw I’m glad you’ve stopped bleeding. It must have been horrible to go through that. :( Fingers crossed you can try again soon.

Best of luck for Friday 🤞🏻🤞🏻

It wasn't the worst to be fair. I had read of far worse experiences. I'm gonna have one period and then go for it again!

EmCha · 15/07/2025 09:17

Thank you! I’m glad it wasn’t too bad and that sounds a good idea. :)

I woke up with such sore boobs today that I couldn’t shake the urge to take a test so I did and of course it was negative. I’m really mad at myself now! 🤦‍♀️ So much for waiting 😂

@EmCha aww, it's so hard to resist the early testing. Especially when you have symptoms!

GiraffesAtThePark · 15/07/2025 14:18

Hello, I’m a bit late to the thread but I’m TTC in 2025. If it doesn’t happen by end of year I think we’ll decide to call it quits. I already have children so not as big of a deal. Best of luck to everyone. I’m going to try be disciplined and not test until period is overdue.
