TTC in 2025!

Hi everyone, thought I’d make my first thread here to see if there’s anyone else planning to conceive in 2025? 🥰 I’m feeling so excited but also a little nervous as I have a cyst on my ovary. It doesn’t cause me any pain or symptoms but it’s being referred to as a suspected endometrioma so that causes me some anxiety! The gynaecologist told me I won’t know if it affects fertility until I try and he isn’t too worried. However that doesn’t stop my nerves! I really hope 2025 will be the year, I feel so ready to be a mum now. 🥹

My fiancé and I are planning to start TTC in April! Just started on my folic acid/vitamin d tablets and it’s starting to feel very real! Eek 🥰❤️ Anyone else in a similar position? I’d love to know any tips on how to best prepare my body in advance and any tips for my other half too!

Thanks all
Yes @Wiggleyfingers we already have 3, a 9yr old, 7yr old and 4yr old. Youngest was a lockdown baby and homeschooling when they were closed, so we’ve waited a longer gap this time as I really struggled mentally with that whole time. But now we are ready it’s just not happening as quickly this time round (I’m now 32, so did have the others in my 20s but I wouldn’t say 32 is even close to ‘old’)

So nice to see someone with a similar gap. My two are just turn 7 and 4.5. They are both girls and with smallish gap they are very close. I'm nervous about how a third will change the dynamics but I know they'll love being the big sisters. FW starts tomorrow, I'm so excited for our first month. I've been waiting 2 years for this! DH wasn't keen a couple of years ago but had a change of heart about 6 months ago.

I'm new to the premom app. I've been uploading my lh strips and BBT every day. Can someone understand my chart? None of the tests look positive to me, however I got a notification today saying ovulation likely happened yesterday as there was a spike in BBT. Can anyone chime in with advice? I've attached my chart and LH strips. Thanks💖

@TTCFC91 I don't do BBT but I started using Premom for the OPKs. I wonder did you have your peak later on in the evening of CD14 but you missed it? It was starting to rise earlier on in the day.

Wiggleyfingers · 12/05/2025 06:46

I agree with @SureLook- it was on the rise at 3pm on CD14. I wonder if you had tested later into the day you would have seen the spike. It's so hard isn't it?! At least you were using two methods! I might try BBT this month too.

KT199 · 12/05/2025 10:17

I’m not TTC anymore as I got my positive test back in April, but still get notifications on this thread. So just thought I’d offer some advice on the BBT as I used to track mine! A good app for BBT which is much easier to know if you’ve ovulated of not is Fertility Friend, I used to use that for BBT and pre mom for LH although FF does take OPK data too. I agree with what others have said and you may have missed your peak as the rise in BBT definitely suggests you ovulated around the time it looked to be increasing!

TTCFC91 · 12/05/2025 16:51

Thank you all for the advice. It's much appreciated!

A week until my period is due and we can finally start trying! Little dilemma though… I’m booked in to give blood for the first time on Sunday. I rang them to check if I still can if TTC and they said yes, only if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding there’s an issue. However, there’s conflicting advice online. Now I don’t know what to do. I’ll feel awful cancelling as I know they’re so desperate for donors and I’m finally at a point in my life where I weigh enough to donate!! However, I don’t want to risk a potential pregnancy either. What are your thoughts?

@EmCha I just had a quick look online there and the majority of it seems to be saying not to donate. If it was me I wouldn't be donating, especially after my loss. But that's just me personally. You do what you feel most comfortable with 😊

Yeah it makes me nervous but I feel bad cancelling especially after I rang up to speak with them and check and they still said it was fine. 😣 Thing is I tried to book early in the year and this was the appointment I ended up with so it’s not something that’s just been arranged.

@EmCha I understand but don't feel bad. You have to put yourself first!

I’ve cancelled it but I do feel bad! 🥺 Last time I had a blood test I had low ferritin so I just don’t want to take the risk. 😣

Thanks so much @Wiggleyfingers

LeafCorner · 17/05/2025 09:23

Congratulations @SureLook so pleased for you!! Did you have symptoms before you tested?

SureLook · 17/05/2025 10:17

Thank you @LeafCorner I had a feeling I was pregnant yesterday cause my stomach was hard as a rock! I was craving salt during the week, very weepy on Wednesday and peeing a lot more. But that can also happen in the lead up to AF for me. What stage are you at again?

BFNs for me sadly and AF came yesterday, so onto a new cycle. Feeling a bit deflated but keep reminding myself it’s only been 3 months. I’m going to stop testing of any sort now because i think it adds pressure.

SureLook · 17/05/2025 22:52

@LeafCorner sorry to hear that. It is very disheartening. I think that's a good idea. I think it can really add to the pressure and consume you.

hopingfor4 · 18/05/2025 07:20

Hi guys so I’m new to ovulation tests which I’ve started this cycle and tracking them in the Premom app - these are my tests, the last being this morning. My question do I carry on taking them now or do I go by this last test and say I’m ovulating around now?

TTC in 2025!
SureLook · 18/05/2025 07:50

Hi @hopingfor4 I would do another test in a few hours. This will confirm whether or not it's your peak. The numbers may go up or down. You may have peaked overnight. The app tells you to keep testing for another few days after your peak to confirm that it definitely was. I'll show you my tests for comparison. You can see by mine it adjusted 1.42 to peak after I kept testing.
