As the title suggests, if you’re over 35 and TTC your first, I’d love to hear from you! Would be nice to hear from a few of us in the same boat 🙂

Hi ladies, I’m 42 and ttc. I had my youngest at 40. I’m on my 2nd cycle of ttc and I’m 8po. At the moment I’m taking seven seas trying for a baby but next month I’m going to get separate vitamins instead

I will admit I haven't heard great things about the seven seas ones, but I'm no expert.

Marvelftw · 04/02/2025 17:36

@EEB1989 omg congratulations! Only two cycles, that didn’t take long at all! My
cycle twin is gone 😂 😂 Fingers crossed that it all continues to progress well for you!

Yeah even though my cycle continued pretty much as it should after coming off the pill, I feel like my hormones have probably been too over the place since only really just stopped. Here’s hoping I get price news too soon 🤞

Thank you. I don’t believe it yet… I’ll test again on Friday and see what it says. It was very very faint but not totally negative like my last cycle.

After my last cycle being 4 days late (I’m never late) I just keep thinking my body is tricking me.

I’ll pop an update on Friday.

Thats really promising, I was all over when I came off it, loads of spots etc. it was like being a teenager all over again. Fingers crossed you get your BFP soon x

Room4onemore · 05/02/2025 10:45

I’m going to order a load of vitamins tomorrow so I can start on my next cycle, I’m 9dpo today and I caved and tested and i thought I saw a shadow but probably my line eyes lol

Sleepypixxie · 06/02/2025 12:19

Turns out my vitamin d3/k2 is incredibly high dose 😳 it’s 4,000iu, which is far above the recommended daily amount (ive always been low in d3/k2 though). Now I’ve got my bfp I’m switching to pregnacare max, which is much lower. It’s hard to know what’s right!

Clara202 · 06/02/2025 19:15

@Sleepypixxie mine is 3000 I think. I don’t think there’s any harm in taking too much vitamin D, I think it’s one of those you can’t get enough of. No medical expert though!

Should my husband take coQ10 as well as me?

That's a good question @Clara202 , I'm interested.

I'm very emotional today, a week before I'm due on. Very typical, but particularly hard to handle. I was in training today and the trainer started talking about teaching your child to ride a bike today, it actually brought tears to my eyes. Luckily I don't think anyone noticed.

I did think that & I’m in Scotland so I need all the vitamin D I can get! Lol

My husband didn’t take the coQ10 but I’ve heard lots of others who did & a few studies have also shown it improves sperm mobility. Every little helps I think!

Screenburn · 07/02/2025 22:56

Hope everyone’s doing ok. I’ve been so snowed under at work that this month has flown by… but of course now I’m 4DPO it is dragging!

I don’t see it happening for us this month as we’ve not been able to DTD as regularly as we should, but there’s still a small chance I think.

Nosejug · 09/02/2025 18:52

BabyS2025 · 01/02/2025 17:50

My ubiquinol just arrived! Just taken my first 600mg dose! Is that the right amount for over 35?

@BabyS2025 I've started taking mine too! I'm on 600, but I read it's good to take them in three separate doses do you absorb more. I am a bit forgetful though. But just thought I should point that out incase you hadn't read it too.

Think I'm finally ovulating after failed ivf. First increase on the tests anyway. This will seem like such a basic question, but when you reach your surge, what is the best time to dtd? Like right there and then or in the next 12 hrs? (We can't dtd on command, my partner gets too stressed by it all, so just trying to target and then get bonus tries in if we can)

carolinep3 · 09/02/2025 18:53

The day before had the highest chance I believe

Nosejug · 09/02/2025 18:58

Oh interesting @carolinep3 ! I thought once peak was reached then the egg was released (over the next 12 hrs). That's good to know, and actually we dtd today and I'll test again this evening to check the rise. Nice to know my body is back in charge.

Peak means egg will be released In the next 12-36 hrs, but sperm will still take time to get there. Slightly better chance if sperm is already there waiting, sperm can live upto 5 days.

Nosejug · 09/02/2025 19:01

Also congratulations @Sleepypixxie on your bfp! Such an amazing feeling to see that second line. I'm also in Scotland and should probably consider upping that vitamin D 🌞

Nosejug · 09/02/2025 19:05

Thanks @carolinep3 for pointing this out. Weird that in all my years of trying I hadn't yet read about the 10hr "capacitation" process! Many thanks

HollyGolightly4 · 09/02/2025 19:31

Thanks everyone, v helpful. I've had cramps today 😔

Screenburn · 09/02/2025 21:15

Congrats @EEB1989 and @Sleepypixxie on your BFPs! @HollyGolightly4 think you and I are kinda cycle twins, keeping fingers crossed that your cramping is not AF 🤞

Has anyone any experience with spotting? I’ve never had it before but just went to loo and had very small spots of red when wiping - nothing like AF but from googling it’s not like implantation bleeding either. So can’t figure out what it is 😐

Clara202 · 09/02/2025 21:32

@Screenburn I did. I had it for 3 days then a week later I got my period.

@carolinep3 so when there’s a flashing smiley you’d think that was the better time rather than the static? We’re attempting every second day this week so far, I’m cycle day 8 at the moment.

Ah thanks @Clara202 - this is probably the same then as I’m due AF in 6/7 days.

Flashing smiley just means your estrogen is rising, you could have that for upto 5 days depends on your body. Maybe this will help you

Thank you! I’m not getting my hopes up at the moment after my chemical last month, just hope my body knows what it’s doing because I sure don’t! 😅

Thank you! I actually had mid-cycle spotting this month for the first time & a week later got a faint bfp. I didn’t get spotting last month when I had my chemical, and tbh I convinced myself this month the spotting was just my body still sorting itself out from that…but the test suggests otherwise! I’m still a bit dubious though after last month’s experience so just seeing what happens. Sending lots of luck to everyone for this month ✨

Nosejug · 10/02/2025 09:32

Oh I must have missed the message, congrats to @EEB1989 too!

@Sleepypixxie after three years ttc, including ivf and a spontaneous pregnancy then mmc, it actually amazes me how my body really does know what to do. Like it knew how to get pregnant and then to miscarry, and knows how to regulate again after crazy amounts of hormone injections. It's cool learning that you do indeed have the instructions for life. I had started to doubt it! Sorry to read about your chemical. Everything I've read says that having a chemical one cycle in no way indicates you'll have it again in another. Will be sending your bean positive energetic thoughts!

I'm still peaking/reaching peak right now (I'm just using the boots strip tests) and we actually managed to dtd twice yesterday and will try again tonight so hopefully that's covering the window.

I had to meet up with a friend who got pregnant at the same time as me last oct. I handled it pretty well but the next morning was waking up early with my brain totally fixated on the image of her beautiful bump. I always think I'm fine but my brain is clearly whirring in the background. It gives me hope though that she's 40 and everything's been very smooth.

Clara202 · 11/02/2025 11:17

Cycle Day 10 and I think I’m about to ovulate early. Cramps have arrived, ewcm, I have a flashing smiley on digital and I have attached my temp and cheapie opks. Could I still have a few days left or is ovulation happening early? It was day 15-20 in previous cycles.
