As the title suggests, if you’re over 35 and TTC your first, I’d love to hear from you! Would be nice to hear from a few of us in the same boat 🙂

@EEB1989 you sound the exact same as me this cycle! I had three 25 day cycles in a row. Then a 31 day cycle, and as of today currently on day 28. I had slight spotting over 3 days last weekend and sharp pains. Unusual to any of the other cycles. Yet here I am still with no real period and numerous negative tests. I am absolutely mentally and physically exhausted 😂 AF is certainly on the way and my body is likely laughing at me 😂

My ubiquinol just arrived! Just taken my first 600mg dose! Is that the right amount for over 35?

Evening Ladies,
I want to increase the amount of vitamins/supplements I take to help. I’d like to take Co-Q10 but there are so many different brands I feel a bit lost.

I know I need to take 600mg a day. Please could you let me know which ones you recommend and what other vitamins you take?

I am currently only on vitamin D and folic acid. We’re only 2 cycles in… still fairly new to all of this. Any advice is greatly appreciated 🙂

EEB1989 · 03/02/2025 21:22

Ooo I’ve read back over the posts and thank you @carolinep3 popped a photo of a recommended Co-Q10 so I’ll get some ordered.

If there’s anything else I should give a try, please let me know.

Marvelftw · 03/02/2025 21:43

Hey @EEB1989 hows it going? 👋 Not been on the threads much for mental sake but my partner and I are trying on cycle 3 now. Time is flying!

Hello EEB1989. I took Co-Q10, high strength folic acid, Vitamin D (with K2 as it’s apparently better for absorption), Vitamin B6 and Vitamin C. I got my first bfp the month I started taking these vitamins seriously. It did end in a chemical…but I’ve just got another faint bfp today, so will wait & see what happens 🤷‍♀️ wishing you lots of luck! ✨

Hey @EEB1989 hows it going? 👋 Not been on the threads much for mental sake but my partner and I are trying on cycle 3 now. Time is flying!

Morning,
It’s ok, I’m 95% sure I’m out this month because I missed my peak on the LH tests and my husbands working away so we’ve barely DTD… the only thing that makes me think I might be in with a chance is, last week I had a random bit of blood when I wiped and I’ve never had that.

But last cycle I was 4 days late so I’m well aware that my body is cruel and can pull tricks on me. I’ll wait and see if AF arrives until I loose all hope. Due on Friday/Saturday.

How are you? I tried to keep away but I can’t help myself.

Thank you @Sleepypixxie for the vitamin recommendations, I’ll pop them on my shopping list… I’ll be rattling about in no time! 😂.

Clara202 · 04/02/2025 07:47

@EEB1989 I take Nature’s Plus Beyond COQ10. I was taking 200mg since November but I have recently upped the dose to 400mg. Will go to 600mg but wanted to go slowly in case it had any effects on tummy. I also had spotting this month about a week before my actual period arrived, I did get my hopes up unfortunately. I really would love to see a bfp. I know that’s only the start of the battle but I just want to know I’m actually capable of even getting that far. I plan to contact a few clinics today to get some tests organised.
@Sleepypixxie congratulations! I really hope this sticks for you
@KittyFantastica thinking of you, I hope everything is going well for you.

BabyS2025 · 04/02/2025 07:51

Congrats @Sleepypixxie - how much vit D do you take?

EEB1989 · 04/02/2025 08:30

Oops, I meant to say congratulations @Sleepypixxie

Sorry I was half asleep earlier, I’ve had a coffee now (decaf of course).

@Clara202 Its a good idea to start slowly, I’ve had tummy issues before with vitamins (evening primrose) so I’ll try your way and do it bit by bit.
I know exactly what you mean, it would be nice to know if we (me and DH) can even make it happen. We’ve only been trying for two cycles, if we haven’t caught on by 6 I’ll get in touch with the GP and look at tests etc.

KittyFantastica · 04/02/2025 09:36

Congratulations @Sleepypixxie lovely news.

Thank you for thinking of me @Clara202 How are you doing?

I've been in hiding the last few weeks just trying to get by. It's an anxious time for us trying to figure out how to prevent another second trimester loss.

We did have a scan yesterday and saw a beautiful little blob with a good heartbeat, little brain and limb buds, all measuring right on time.

BabyS2025 · 04/02/2025 09:53

Congrats @KittyFantastica

Clara202 · 04/02/2025 10:13

@KittyFantastica that’s great. Totally understandable but just take it day by day and keep busy, find something mundane on Netflix to help pass the time 🙂

Congratulations @KittyFantastica .

HollyGolightly4 · 04/02/2025 11:17

I don't know if this is acceptable advice, but if you are worried, go to the GP now and embellish the length of time you have been trying. I was referred in July, the hospital received the referral in September (!), and I've been told I should get an appointment this month. It's a ridiculously long wait. If you fall pregnant in the mean time- great. If not, you're not delayed.

I wish I'd gone earlier.

I'm 3 dpo and having some strange cramps. My ovulation seemed much earlier this cycle, I exclusively used clear blue digital.

Clara202 · 04/02/2025 11:39

@HollyGolightly4 I would second that advice. I probably wouldn’t do it at age 35/36 but 37+ I certainly would.

Ohh interesting, could that be implementation?? How soon after you last ovulated was it? I wouldn’t get hung up about the amount of times you were able to DTD around peak (although I know it’s hard). So many stories of people only doing it once for various reasons and then becoming successful. Fingers crossed!

@HollyGolightly4 I had cramps shortly after ovulation for my two last cycles and I thought it was a sign that AF was coming even though it was really early on in my cycle (2DPO). Interestingly though this month I got the same cramps before I even ovulated so now I’m wondering if they could be more related to ovulation cramping. Not really sure! I feel like my body is such a mystery to me!

Congrats to all the positive news we’ve had on this thread. This is my third cycle since being off the pill and every month I swear my body keeps doing something differently. Last month I tested two really high peak days using OPK on day 14 and 15. This month it’s only tested high on 14 and gone straight back down today. I’m hoping this all means by body is finally started to adjust since stopping birth control.

EEB1989 · 04/02/2025 12:30

@Marvelftw I think it could have been implantation. I don’t know when I last ovulated, I didn’t catch my peak on the LH tests. The highest I got was 0.31 on day 13. That’s two weeks ago now. I’m currently 13DPO (if I ovulated near there).

I’ve tested this morning and was going to share the test but for some reason my mumsnet has lost the ability to put photos in. It looked very very faint but I’m not sure if that’s just me trying to see something.

Im going to dash out at lunch and grab some more tests (I only had a really cheap £1 one) but I’ll grab a more reliable brand and test on Friday/Saturday when my AF is due.

I’m trying not to get my hopes up and even if I get a BFP I’ve read so much about CPs on here that I think I’d be on edge until it was confirmed by a GP. I’m such a worrier 🙈.

It’s really good that you’ve got your cycle back after the pill. I was on the combined pill for 17 yrs and it took 6 months for my cycle to return.

Room4onemore · 04/02/2025 12:31

Hi ladies, I’m 42 and ttc. I had my youngest at 40. I’m on my 2nd cycle of ttc and I’m 8po. At the moment I’m taking seven seas trying for a baby but next month I’m going to get separate vitamins instead
