Hello!

Since I created the December one, making one for January!

A supportive place to chat for those that are:

Sudden surge to a positive OPK for me on CD10 today (maybe CD11, my period often starts in the evening and never sure whether to count that as CD1 or to begin from the following morning). We had to abstain this cycle before having my HyCoSy so have only DTD once so far - need to get on it later today but DH is in a foul mood, ugh.

Does anyone use the Premom app and find that their stated ratios seem really inaccurate? The test line on this is, to my eyes, clearly darker than the control, but Premom says it's only 0.76? I don't really rely on the ratios and just trust my own judgment but I do find it a bit off?

That looks like a proper peak to me @blackberryhill Mine rarely even get so dark. I think sometimes moving them around to different lighting can help where the app is concerned. Sometimes the app just doesn't pick it up well.

My spotting yesterday turned into full AF last night, CD2 today. I ovulated on CD17 in November, and CD12 earlier this month, so it's anyone's guess what will happen this time.

CD10 for me today and first month using OPKs- I think i havent had surge yet as the lines all seem lighter to me? Really hoping might go dark tomorrow as nice 4 day period off work before family arrive and working over xmas! hope everyone is getting to relax and enjoy the festive period a bit in between all the TTC stuff xx

Yep, I'd say no surge just yet, fingers crossed it comes for you soon whilst you've got some time off to relax!

Ooh that’s good that you got your surge! The photo definitely looks peak to me. I have the same issue with the app, and have to just go by the photo rather than the LH level the app gives it sometimes 😅

I always start AF in the evening too and never know when to count as CD1! I’ve started using the evening spotting as CD1 as i’ve read any bleeding you get counts as AF rather than spotting… but who knows if that’s right 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Kateb149 @blackberryhill SMEP website states to count your first full day of AF as day 1.

Ah that’s interesting, thank you! In that case I have very short AFs so maybe I need to get that checked in the new year 🤔

How short, just out of interest? I also have short, light cycles (3 days of bleeding max, and usually the third day is very light and almost more like spotting). I've always been this way and it's never been a concern when I've spoken with doctors/fertility clinic, didn't prevent me from conceiving DC#1 and whenever I've had ultrasounds they've always been happy with my lining, so I try not to worry about it too much!

It’s our first cycle trying to concieve, ovulation around 27th-30th dec. Should you avoid drinking alkohol even when trying?

I've always subcribed to the mantra of 'drink till it's pink' - if you don't have a positive pregnancy test then go for it. Obviously drinking to excess is never great for you, but a couple of glasses of wine over the festive period aren't going to do any serious harm.

Oh that’s reassuring, thank you! I would say three days at most… I have an evening of light bleeding, then first full day is medium bleed, the second day is light bleed and the third day is only visible when I wipe and only for half a day!
My periods used to be really heavy, but that was quite a few years back before I was on any contraception. Maybe it’s just a rare benefit of aging 😅 but as I had the coil removed in May I would have thought they would have got heavier by now if they were going to change 🤷🏼‍♀️ could I ask, did you book an ultrasound to check your lining or were they doing other checks too?

I had a fertility MOT done when we were TTC DC#1 which included an ultrasound to check my anatomy, and then a HyCoSy (which involves an ultrasound to check the dye flow), and have had both of these re-done again recently as part of TTC #2. So not specifically to check my lining but they did have a look each time as part of their wider observations.

Your periods do sound very similar to mine!

Cd14 here with a .63 ovulation test. Going to test a couple of times a day in case peak comes quickly! Compared to ovulation cd24 last month it looks like it will be a lot earlier!

Preemptively joining this group as I'm 1DPO today so AF is due on 31st December. Feels like the wait is a long time away!

Oh thank you, I think i’ll be saving up for a fertility check in the new year if we haven’t had any luck by then so it’s good to know what tests they can do! X

Oh wow that is a lot earlier! Do you feel like you have any other signs of ovulation?

I’m CD12 today and LH is 0.45 so it’s on the rise, I think i’ll get my peak either tomorrow or Saturday!

I definitely found it reassuring to have mine done and to know that there were no obvious issues in our way (although frustrating as also meant there were no obvious fixes). I think our MOT included a blood test to check my AMH levels and my thyroid, an ultrasound to check anatomy and to conduct an antral follicle count, a semen analysis for my husband and then a consultation to run through our results with the clinic.

Honestly not really normally I have some lower back ache, sometimes a headache and more cm than I have atm. I have a feeling peak may be a few more days. We have on dtd once in current premom fertile stage. Children have been poorly but doing a lot better so hoping everyone goes to sleep at a decent time tonight 😅

Looks like we may be doing the 2ww together again!

I always think the second half of the month drags compared to waiting for ovulation 😅

Hello! In the fertile window now till Christmas.

I relate with the ones that struggle with pregnancy announcements, even here I am happy for people but the envy…. Ugh.
ive been very busy so haven’t put much thought in TTC this cycle at all, been so relaxing !

Excited to try and then give it to universe 🤞

Hopefully all the signs line up for you over the next few days 🤞

Oh no hope the children feel better soon! I feel your pain, we’ve had a nasty cold in our house too and we’re all pretty wiped out 😅 we’re trying to DTD less this cycle to see if it makes a difference, so we’re not DTD until I see my peak!

I think we might be at this rate! At least we can countdown together ☺️

@MyGardenDaisies it's definitely nice to be busy this time of year and almost forget about it! I felt like it came around quickly this month!

@kateb149 I hope you are all feeling better! There's so much going around at the moment! We didn't have to put much thought into conceiving our others but we have tried to dtd 2/3 times in the fertile window with the few times I've ovulated since my last and the 7months before we conceived my first (mmc) I am not a night owl at all so struggle if the kids are up late
