@MyGardenDaisies it's definitely nice to be busy this time of year and almost forget about it! I felt like it came around quickly this month!

@kateb149 I hope you are all feeling better! There's so much going around at the moment! We didn't have to put much thought into conceiving our others but we have tried to dtd 2/3 times in the fertile window with the few times I've ovulated since my last and the 7months before we conceived my first (mmc) I am not a night owl at all so struggle if the kids are up late

We’ve all suffered with it for weeks, but we finally seem to be coming out of the other side now🤞 there is a lot going around! I hope you get a good night’s sleep tonight and all feel better before Christmas.

We have been managing to DTD every day in my fertile period which hasn’t worked for us so far, so i’m seeing if the swimmers do a better job after a bit of a rest this month 😅 the NHS website recommends every other day so you’re probably doing it the best way!

Sudden surge to a positive OPK for me on CD10 today (maybe CD11, my period often starts in the evening and never sure whether to count that as CD1 or to begin from the following morning). We had to abstain this cycle before having my HyCoSy so have only DTD once so far - need to get on it later today but DH is in a foul mood, ugh.

Does anyone use the Premom app and find that their stated ratios seem really inaccurate? The test line on this is, to my eyes, clearly darker than the control, but Premom says it's only 0.76? I don't really rely on the ratios and just trust my own judgment but I do find it a bit off?

yes definitely, sometimes I think the ratio seems way out!! Yours definitely looks way over a 1 to me

Picture would be helpful!

That is a great line! It’s good to see what that looks like for reference. I’m currently CD16 but definitely no sign of a peak. Mine reached 0.45 about 5 days ago but then gradually went down to 0.2 again. Not sure whether that was my body’s attempt or whether I’m not actually ovulating.

Could I ask how long your cycles usually are? It might be that you ovulate a little later?
I tend to test LH every few hours once mine goes up to 0.4ish because I have a rapid surge so if I don’t test multiple times a day I miss it!

It can vary - between 26 and 33. Ahh I have been doing once or twice a day so might need to increase the frequency. I was worried having a background of 0.1 - 0.3 might be too much LH to have throughout cycle? I realise how much of a science these OPKs are now!

Thomsonetthompson · 20/12/2024 14:23

It's so complicated and so tricky to remember everything! I've only been doing it once a day and definitely usually miss the peak. Finding 10 minutes to test is so difficult I don't think I could manage more often.

How often is everyone else DTDing during the fertile window? Every other day means only 2 or 3 times which doesn't seem enough?

We aim for a baseline of every second day from the day after my period finishes to when ovulation is confirmed - all the evidence suggests that this should be plenty to ensure that there are always sperm there to meet the egg. That said, once I get a positive OPK I'll aim to try and make sure we do it for the next few days if possible, but I try not to get too hung up on it if we don't manage to.

It was a lot easier first time round when we had no toddler and were in lockdown with no social plans and WFH full-time!

I’ve known people with 30 day cycles who don’t ovulate until CD20 so you just never know! It might still be on its way? But i’d recommend testing a bit more frequently when you notice it starts to go up because it might be a rapid surge like i get ☺️

I’m really not sure what the baseline should be to be honest! Mine’s usually around 0.1 but I think it varies for everyone x

Cinnamonbunn · 20/12/2024 16:30

@Kinderbueno89 I’ve been ovulating on CD 29! And have a 36 day cycle. It has only been this way since having DC #1 and I think I’m still adjusting to having a period again PP. Definitely keep testing as I have a slight rise early in my cycle and then a clear rise much later.

MyGardenDaisies · 20/12/2024 17:06

hello! Officially started “trying” this cycle, so will be testing around 3rd or waiting for period, who knows how I’ll feel then 😄 Ovulation due on Monday so will try to DTD every day this weekend and Monday and Tuesday.

Kinderbueno89 · 20/12/2024 18:26

@Cinnamonbunn ok I will keep testing! I would’ve stopped by then assuming it wasn’t going to happen. I have to remember although my average cycle is 30 it actually varies by 10 days sometimes 🤷🏼‍♀️

EEB1989 · 20/12/2024 18:51

@MyGardenDaisies
I was due to ovulate Monday too… been testing since CD10 though and they’re around 0.5, so it’s been predicted as Christmas Day 😅.

I usually ovulate around day 14-16 so it would be later than usual if it’s correct (CD19).
I will keep testing, I’m hoping it arrives as usual otherwise it’ll be a busy Christmas Day 😂.

Oooh good luck this cycle! I’ll probably be testing or AF around a similar time. My LH has started rising and got to 0.63 today but no higher, so guessing tomorrow will be my peak 🤞

MrsH26 · 20/12/2024 19:10

Trying not to get over excited.
I’ve been ovulation testing, been hovering at 0.11 for days, predicted ovulation post coil should be Xmas eve/xmas day and today I got 0.25 and a real distinct jump in the darkening of the tests.

I know it can fluctuate a lot, and I don’t want to get my hopes up that I’m working properly post Mirena. But…. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

TenaciousOne · 20/12/2024 20:34

AF arrived so definitely in the right thread.

I feel like a positive ovulation test is nearly as exciting as a positive pregnancy test 🤣

Room4onemore · 20/12/2024 20:53

Hi all, jumping over from the December group. Had a very short cycle last month of 21 days so not sure what that was! Testing from tomorrow as I don’t think I ovulated last cycle so 🤞 for us all

It is for me! I’ve ignored any kind of cycle since I started hormonal contraception. 16yrs ago!
I literally don’t have a clue if I even ovulate!

But I really am trying not to get too excited…

Room4onemore · 20/12/2024 21:59

It’s saying I’m going to be in high peak around Christmas Day so I’m sure we could get a few happy nights in on the run up to that lol

littlefox90 · 21/12/2024 05:47

Ah the line was probably evaporation or caused by a chemical on the December thread so here I am.

Age 34, 5th month TTC after MC in June. Good luck everyone ❤️

SarahB88 · 21/12/2024 08:36

Looks like I’m back to joining you all. Have had a miscarriage over the course of yesterday and continuing today ☹️ I’m so devastated.

MummyV2021 · 21/12/2024 08:45

I'm back ladies! Officially CD1 today... been a rollercoaster week as went back to 1-2 weeks on a CB digi after getting negative. I knew deep down it wasn't a viable pregnancy but the tests seriously messed with my head. AF has finally arrived with a vengeance! Sad and relieved at the same time. I've learned my lesson this cycle though and not testing at all, it got way out of control (and expensive!!)... I'm not even going to track ovulation.

Hope everyone's doing ok 🥰 I'll hopefully ovulate early Jan (usually around CD14-17) so I'm just going to go off predictions and EWCM instead of sticks

Glad that AF has turned up but also sad it’s not worked out for you. Looks like we’re in the same boat so I’ll be right along with you on dates for this one.

We’ve never experienced a loss before and my partner has been absolutely amazing, I feel very lucky to have him. Bless him he was meant to be having his Xmas night out with friends tonight but he’s not going so we can have a cosy night in instead. The dog must know something is up too, she’s not left my side all day today.

MummyV2021 · 21/12/2024 13:42

@SarahB88 really sorry to hear that lovely. It really does suck. Sending hugs. Glad to hear you've got hubby with you and he's looking after you. Take it easy and be kind to yourself 😘

SarahB88 · 21/12/2024 13:54

@MummyV2021 Thank you lovely x

Hopefully January is our month
