Hi and thank you @Kateb149 It's a bit of an awkward one for me. I can't really count cycles well.

I felt pregnant first time we tried last December, then miscarried at 6 weeks. I then fell pregnant off the back of that miscarriage in January, and had a missed miscarriage 9 weeks later. It then took 8 weeks for my pregnancy tests to go negative and I was having random bleeds every 18 days or so. Found out I was pregnant again first week of June, which was a shock as I was certain I couldn't conceive with only 18 day random cycles!

Tragically, we just lost our little boy at 19 weeks in September due to u explained premature labour. We are still reeling and hurting so much from his death, he was perfect, but we're not young and have decided to try again as we are losing time. We weren't trying this cycle, we just didn't prevent, and AF is due in four days. I'd had positives in all three of my pregnancies by now, so I know I'm out. I think we will probably track at bit this cycle.

So, after all that, I guess you could say it's either cycle 1 (or 4 if you count all the failed pregnancies and the the NT, NP last month) for our first living baby 😔.

Coming over from the December thread! I need a read to catch up with everyone! Currently cd10 here and started ovulation tests this morning

Hello ladies!! How's everyone doing? Looks like I'll be joining this thread from the December one sadly. I got a squinter at 10DPO and a half decent FRER on Friday (12DPO) but fully negative today. So looks like another chemical for me 😢 AF due today but not sure if CP will delay it. So waiting for me to officially start my next cycle

So sorry to hear it looks like a CP 😕 hope you’re doing okay and we’re here if you need us! X

Hi Ladies,
I just wondered, how often do you use LH tests? I’ve tested mine previously to see if my clue app is accurate - it usually is.

This is our first month trying, my cycles are usually around 29 days long, the clue app says O week is day 11-17 but pre mom days O week is day 14-19. I’m not sure which to believe…

Also, do you test twice a day? I’ve previously only tested once but I’ve got a decent stash of them so if needed I’ll test twice. Any advice welcome…

Hiya ☺️ I usually test every day from around CD8 or 9, and then when i’m nearing my fertile period I will test twice a day. I have a ‘rapid’ LH surge so it goes up and down within a half a day, so once it starts going up I usually test every few hours just to make sure I catch my peak! Hope the LH testing helps you this month x

So sorry to hear about your losses 😔 it must be so heartbreaking, you are very strong.

I have everything crossed you will have your BFP again soon ❤️ have you spoken to your doctor about your losses? I know some gynaes recommend certain medications to help avoid it in future x

Hello, I'm jumping over from the December thread.

I'm 9 or 10DPO and tested this morning. BFN, which I expected, so it's over for me this cycle. I know 9DPO is early, but I had a strong line at 9DPO when I got pregnant with my son. My two early losses didn't show up until 11/12DPO, but I had feelings in the days before those positives even then. This time, absolutely nothing. Just waiting for AF to arrive next week.

Same for me. BFN at 9 or 10 DPO. I haven’t been actively tracking so dates are based on the apps predictions. I think this/next month I’ll get some ovulation tests I’ve avoided this time as I didn’t want to get too focused on it.

MyGardenDaisies · 15/12/2024 22:23

Very sorry @MummyV2021 :(

hello everyone!
I have been truly relaxing from TTC. I had to check what day it even was. Tomorrow will be CD10 and fertile window opens on Thursday, so I’ve still got 3 days to totally not think about it.
I have had the best time, even one drink and a couple of coffees, got the flu and Covid jabs done, and haven’t tracked anything or googled anything TTC related. It’s been a bliss to take a step back.

I am excited about the prospect of getting pregnant this cycle, but with the last one being so short, I am not very hopeful and focusing on the upcoming doctors visit instead

How is everyone doing? X

Morning ☺️ so glad to hear you’ve managed to really relax and take some time out of thinking about TTC. I had a christmas lunch this week and had a few drinks, and went away with my DH’s children this weekend for Christmas themed stuff so I have been really switched off from it too.

I’ll check my LH levels this morning but I think i’ll ovulate this weekend so I’m trying not to get myself stressed about it right now.

Hope your cycle levels out a bit this month x

blackberryhill · 16/12/2024 10:01

Morning all - hope everyone had a decent weekend. Bit of a challenging one for me with the meet-up with all the second babies but made it through with only one small cry in the toilets.

Got my HyCoSy this morning, hopefully all will go smoothly and the only bit that will hurt is shelling out £600 for the privilege 😑Just taken my painkillers in preparation!

I tend to ovulate on the early side (sometimes as early as Day 10, usually between Days 12 and 14) so I start testing daily at around Day 4 when my period ends just to establish a baseline. I usually test in the evening when I get home from work as that's the most convenient time for me. Once the line begins to grow a bit darker I up my testing to twice daily (morning and evening) - my surge is often quite fast and short and I've found that if I only do once a day I can end up missing my peak.

A lot of it is trial and error and figuring out what works for you and your cycles. If you don't usually ovulate until Day 14 or 15 then probably no point testing as early as I do; likewise if you find that your surge is usually over a couple of days then once daily testing might be fine. If you have a lot of cervical mucus changes then you might be comfortable only testing once you see those changes.

KittyFantastica · 16/12/2024 11:10

Hi @EEB1989 Over time, I've found out my surge is incredibly fast - like within a half an hour! It also always seems to happen sometime between 10:30 - 11:45. Only thing is, my cycle has some variance of 3-4 days each month now I've had 3 losses, so I've ovulated anywhere between day 9 and day 18. I start testing on day 8 and go through until 2-3 days after I've seen my surge. Once I start to see a bit of a rise, I actually do 2-3 OPKs over the next hour. If I don't, I completely miss it and end up thinking I haven't ovulated. Good luck!

MummyV2021 · 16/12/2024 11:40

Thanks for being so welcoming ladies! Turns out I might not need to be in this group after all... I'm very confused right now! But full story...

I started getting proper squinters on cheapies at 10DPO, got a faint positive on FRER at 12DPO and then got complete negatives on a different cheapie and a CB digital on 13DPO, and again on morning of 14DPO (yesterday).

However, last night I found my other strip tests and got another box of FRER delivered and got a positive! So took a CB digital and that was also positive! I've also taken another FRER this morning and it seems darker.

I'm so confused! Convinced it's a chemical as my levels seems to be fluctuating but it might be the other tests I had just weren't as sensitive. Going to wait a couple of days and take another CB digi and FRER to see if there's progress and then I might start to believe it's happening. So I might need this group I might not. Arrgghh so confusing

Hi all,
Since my laptop died I'm finding it harder to reply to these threads, I don't find the app that easy to use, so I have to sneak in little Mumsnet breaks at work.

I'm CD6 today. I'm like @blackberryhill and usually ovulate between CD12-14. So we're going to try on CD8, CD10, CD12 & CD14. It's Christmas party season so not sure how much energy we will have/quality of sperm and eggs 😅

Oh @MummyV2021 I'm so sorry that you are going through this uncertainty, it's never a nice place to be! I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed that it's just early days and that's why the test have been giving different results. Tests using pee can be impacted by so many things (e.g. how hydrated you are), so there could be loads of reasons why you're getting different results on different days!

blackberryhill · 16/12/2024 13:25

HyCoSy all done without any dramas - tubes were clear (not a surprise given they were clear last time) and was pleased to hear from the doctor that my lining is 'perfect' as I've always been worried that it's too thin as I have very light periods. Was definitely a little more uncomfortable than the last time I had it done, but nothing that I couldn't handle.

It was the same doctor as did it back when I was TTC #1, so I'm taking that as a good omen. I'd forgotten just how quickly after it had happened last time until he noted that he'd done the last test in Feb 2021 and then asked when DC1 was born - November 2021, 9 months later!

CoolSummer89 · 16/12/2024 14:06

Sounds very promising @blackberryhill, always nice to have reassurance.

Have heard a few times on here that people are more fertile after hycosy, do we know why that is? I don't know what it is, is it just looking for blockages?

Yes, HyCoSy is intended to check for blocked tubes - from what I gather, they basically thread a catheter through your cervix and then flush a contrast dye through your tubes to see if it appears out the other side (the consultant showed me on the monitor whilst he was doing it, was interesting to see it flowing!)

I don't know that there's a definitive answer as to whether people are genuinely more fertile post-HyCoSy (study results seem to vary) or if they are why that might be - there are some theories about it clearing minor debris out so they move more smoothly, but they are only theories. That said, for the sake of a comparatively small amount of money (in fertility clinic terms), an hour of my time and some minor discomfort, I was very happy to give it a go!)

@MummyV2021 I didn't get a bfp with #1 until 5 days after my period was due.

@blackberryhill hopefully the same happens for you again!

How long was your cycle do you know? My period is late but still no BFP, I don’t even have any feelings that AF is on the way.

Although someone’s posted a test on the December thread and people are saying they can see a line on it and it looks like my tests that I’ve put in the bin because I didn’t think they were positive 🙈

Marvelftw · 16/12/2024 16:31

No real updates from me except to say I’ve been experiencing some cramping over the last few days and today there has been a thicker discharge than usual. I feel like these signs are pointing to my period starting soon (following my usual cycle on the pill it should be coming in a week and a half) which shows me that my calculations were off now I’ve stopped the pill.

Feeling at least good that I can now proceed with knowing my correct cycle!

Matildahoney · 16/12/2024 17:21

@SarahB88 31 day cycle, but I'd ovulated by day 11 as I had a scan that day and she could see I'd already ovulated. Good luck.

Ah that’s really interesting to know. I’m just going to have to keep testing and waiting for AF I think.

EEB1989 · 16/12/2024 18:35

Thank you to everyone who responded re ovulation tests.
I’ve started testing today CD10, currently 0.13. I’ll keep testing once a day until closer to when I think it is (CD14-16) I’ll up it to twice a day on those days. Hopefully I’ll catch my peak this weekend.

hey everyone,
no idea what’s going on with me! No idea on where my cycle is due to having mirena out, was expecting a bit of a progesterone drop and feeling hormonal due to this but it’s been kinda the opposite.
spotty, nauseous, tender
ive started ovulation tracking to see if that helps me understand what’s going on!

I had that the first month after coming off the pill, it was awful! Hope you’re feeling ok
