Sorry to hear that AF has arrived @Kateb149, it's all a bit like entering the lottery isn't it. Your numbers will come in one month, I'm sure of it 🤞
I am 12DPO and BFN for me. My period should arrive on Monday and then I am going for my first ever fertility investigation so hopefully on the way to some answers and support.
For various reasons we're not going to try this month, so best of luck for next cycle and I hope I won't see you on the Feb/March group

Kateb149 · 04/01/2025 18:31

Thanks @MrsH26 and @CoolSummer89 ❤️

It definitely does feel like the lottery sometimes! Sorry to hear you got a BFN @CoolSummer89 but hopefully the fertility checks will prove helpful 🤞 is your DH also getting any tests done?

Haha hopefully we don’t see each other in the Feb/March threads 😅 but wishing you all the luck until then! X

Hello, I’m a newbie. Can I join?

34 years old, no children. Myself & partner are getting married in March and looking to start ttc. I have no idea where to start, I feel so daunted reading this thread and a lot of it I really do not understand! I am not on any contraception. I have just finished my period, and the app on my iPhone says my fertile window is 11th to 16th January.

Any help ladies?

Exciting about your wedding! Just have sex every other day after your period stops for a couple of weeks and you’ll be covered. Or you could use ovulation test sticks if you want but I think if you’re just getting going keeping it simple for a few months is the way to go. Definitely take some folic acid or prenatal vitamins from now though so that your body is all set up. I use naitre but sure others also have recommendations.

Todays test

Beautiful line 😍 huge congratulations xxx

EEB1989 · 04/01/2025 20:14

Hi Ladies,
I think I’m out this month, it’s only our first try but I think I’d symptom spotted too much and convinced myself we had won the lottery!

AF is due tomorrow and I was up all night with AF type cramps. I’ve never had that before - usually I cramp and then AF arrives but AF isn’t here yet… I might test tomorrow (11DPO) if AF doesn’t come in the night.
Has anyone had this? Am I still in the game or am I just fooling myself 😩.

Sugarcube84 · 04/01/2025 20:16

Thanks everyone, it means a lot to have virtual support. It’s been 6 months since we started ttc after coming off the pill this was cycle 5, I’m 40 and was starting to worry it might not happen as it happened month 1 with my other 2.

To everyone still waiting for their bfp good luck and to others testing early and getting discouraged this is the first pregnancy that I’ve ever had a positive at 9dpo, with the others I only had a positive test after a missed period.

AmazeB · 04/01/2025 20:47

Sorry about AF @Kateb149 and the bfn @CoolSummer89 . Sending baby dust to you both ✨

1 dpo today, officially in the TWW.

Runingoncaffeine · 04/01/2025 20:49

What do all these abbreviations mean? 🥺

What do all these abbreviations mean? 🥺

Hi,
It’s my first time TTC but I’m a long time lurker…the ones I know are:
TTC - Trying to conceive
TWW - Two week wait
DPO - days past ovulation
OPK - ovulation peak
AF - Aunt Flo
EWCM - egg white cervical mucus
DH - Dear husband

there are more but that’s all I know, hope it helps 🙂

@Runingoncaffeine sorry for all the abbreviations! I'd agree with the advice about seeing how you get on with having regular sex over your fertile period (and a few days either side if you aren't sure how accurate that is) and starting the prenatal vitamins. Good luck 🙂

YKM2829 · 04/01/2025 21:15

I feel like these are evap lines or I'm just seeing things that aren't real 😅😅😅😅😅 I'm soon early like 6-8dpo so I already know if anything maybe an evap lol but thought I'd post just in case anyway 😅😅😅😅🤦🏽‍♀️

Sorry, I can't answer your question as I've not experienced that before. I just wanted to say solidarity as I've had painful cramps on and off all day today. I'm still five days away from when my period is due, but it's unnerving anyway.

Thinking of you @CoolSummer89. Not too far behindu. On months 13 of ttc with no positives in that time frame. Have an appointment with gp to either be referred to fertility of to push for investigations to be done on myself. My partner had his SA which showed really good numbers and all in the normal percentages. I had one day 21 bloods done 4 months ago now which confirmed ovulation. Hope i have a decent gp who will be very helpful x

MrsH26 · 04/01/2025 22:01

Can I ask how long peaks often take for you that do OPKs…
yesterday mine were all above 0.4 (my baseline seems to be 0.11-0.14) from lunch time today high 0.7s but it isn’t going up any more and it’s been like it for 10hrs! I’ve had one that was pretty much as dark as the control line. Does it often hover high for a while before peaking?

Mine does this too sometimes, some months I get a ‘rapid’ peak which comes on and goes again within a few hours… other times its like you said and it’s 0.4 one day, then 0.7 next day and then 1.2 or so the day after that. So if you don’t get above 1 today you might tomorrow! X

That’s helpful. DH works away Tuesdays, so that would be typical!

Thank you for responding. It is unnerving, especially when it’s not the norm. Fingers crossed for both of us that it’s not AF.x

This was my first cycle using OPKs and my ratios were like 0.2 until CD12, then shot up to 1.19 on CD 13. So mine was more of a rapid peak! The peak lasted only about 24 h.
Now from next cycle, I'll start testing from CD10 or 11

i’ve only been testing every day because ive had no real cycle for the last 16yrs being on hormonal contraception and 3 bleeds in 4wks after my coil removed.
Didn’t have a clue what was what, but it’s been helpful in at least knowing I’ve started working pretty quickly 😂

I have also been very crampy. I'm awake early cramping and 5 days until period. 7dpo here

Hi everyone! Hope it's not too late to jump on!

Just joined mums net and it's our first TTC cycle for baby no.1. I'm currently CD7 and I'm due to ovulate around the 15th Jan according to my Flo app, but doing ovulation tests every morning & evening (just in case) with the clear blue tests.

Bit of a back story, I'm 29 and my partner is 32 and has a 13 year old son already. I came off the pill around 2.5 years ago now after being on it for about 12 years and have used Flo to track my cycles as prior to going on the pill my periods were all over the place.

I'm super excited but slightly anxious as I can be an over thinker so hoping being in supportive groups like this will help out. I've brought booked to read also and Ive started take pre-pregnancy multivitamins.

Keeping everything crossed that its all of our months!x
