Dr Shehata CRP clinic

Hi lovely ladies, just looking for some positive stories of going to CRP clinic ? My back story I have had a chemical then a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks ( baby stopped growing at 6 weeks) then another chemical. I went to CRP clinic three weeks ago and spent £3,300 on tests, everything came back normal apart from the Cytoxicity NK cells (activation of Nk Cells in pregnancy state) normal is below 20 percent and mine are at 26 percent. I suppose I’m just concerned is this really the reason for my 3 loses ?! I hope it is and that the treatment plan can be successful ! He’s put me on superovulation, infusion before ovulation then prednisone and infusion then test. Also taking viagra to help with the lining. I’m having this month off as partner is away so starting next month. I’m so worried about the steroids. Also I’m hoping he will be able to help with my lining. Does anyone know what he will do if my lining is thin on scan day? My last clinic I was at did nothing. No wonder it wasn’t successful. CRP seem great so far just expensive !!! Any comments and replies are so so welcomed

@Objectiontime that’s good that you have a answer though. It’s always better to have a reason and then a solution. You are lucky that you don’t have to have the infusion every two weeks like he’s told me I would have to have. Do you have to have a scan every two weeks too or not ? X

Yes, I am extremely grateful to have something g to work on to be honest. Re the infusions, he said three times in total but maybe i misheard, i am hoping i gotbtgst right because I cant see my employer being too chuffed otherwise!
No, I dont have to have any scans with them at all unless I choose to but I am with Dr Thum at the Lister and I guess they all have slightly different ideas.
I am having pred from BFP and not ovulation too so u am keen to see how that goes but very grateful.

Objectiontime · 19/11/2024 21:50

Turns out I cant have the infusions at all because they contain a trace of peanut oil. I'm allergic to all nuts so I will just have to take the pred only and prey!

Hey lovelies!
I know how daunting and doubtful the whole experience can be especially when it comes to private treatments. After 4 miscarriages and many tests done by NHS and other private doctors, no issue could be found. We were lost but thank God we came across prof. Shehata. Because of his treatment, we now have a beautiful 8 month old baby and no more mc under his protocol.

I was very fearful of the medications’ side effects but they were not bad at all. I was not affected except it did affect my sleep abit and i put on weight. I was on intralipid from ovulation and 25mg pred.
it can be very expensive but its totally worth it.
it was so reassuring when we were having our appontments at the hospital in London, the consultant was aware CPR clinic. The consultant’s word was “i dont know what they do in CPR but whatever they do, it seems to work like a magic for a lot of women”.
Now we are thinking of starting the whole process again for the next baby

Rainbowchaser87 · 23/11/2024 18:45

@Hope646 thank you so much for sharing your story! I really needed some good news today! I cannot wait for my miracle baby after 3 losses. I am sorry you went through so much pain!❤️
congratulations for ur little but immense joy!
excited for u to start all over again! It will all gl well! Hugs 🫂 xx

Rainbowchaser87 · 01/01/2025 23:56

Hello everyone ☺️ how is everyone doing? I am still TTC and started Latrozole this month. @Meg310532 how are you? Wishing you all a beautiful year and that this will be the year where we will hold our babies in our arms ♥️🙏🏽

Meg310532 · 02/01/2025 12:30

Hey hun @Rainbowchaser87 the first round of letrozole got cancelled they wouldn’t let me
trigger as I has way to many follicles which is risk of multiples. it wasn’t successful. im
on my second round now; went for scan on Monday and had three follicles and a thick lining. So they let me trigger yesterday so I ovulate today and started the steroids etc too today. Hoping that this is the month fingers crossed !! How many days have you been on the letrozole ? How many tablets are you taking ? X xx

OP posts:
Rainbowchaser87 · 02/01/2025 12:53

Hey @Meg310532 hope this is the right month! I am on day 3 of Latrozole. I take 2 tablets of 2.5mg. How about you? It’s my first time plus my ovulation has been a bit unstable so going for a 10 days scan next week and see where we are at, hopefully all good to trigger!
How does it work though…would they never give u a trigger if is more than one egg or just if it’s more than 2?

Meg310532 · 02/01/2025 13:01

@Rainbowchaser87 if you have more than about 4 or 5 they won’t let you trigger, but they are happy for you to trigger with three. I think if you are over 40 they might let you trigger with more than 3 though. It was annoying as was a waist of money doing that cycle :( ! Really hoping this is my month. This is my fourth round but two of the rounds were with a different clinic and I wasn’t able to trigger on two of them & one of them my lining wasn’t thick enough so I don’t think the three of them had much chance . I triggered day 14 on this cycle :) this cycle deff seems to be the most on point at the moment. Are you having your infusion same day as your day 10 scan? Do you have to travel far ? X

OP posts:
Rainbowchaser87 · 02/01/2025 13:13

I can imagine the frustration @Meg310532 how much mg do you take of Latrozole? I hope this is the month for both of us!!!🙏🏽🙌🏽💪🏽
I don’t live far so it takes me just about an hour yo get there. I remember u said u need to travel quite far, right?
Yes, I booked my intralipids on the same day.
I am not sure though I am understanding well how the whole thing works 😅😅…so u don’t have any intercourse unless they trigger you? Would any egg get released unless they trigger you? Sorry for the silly questions but as I said it’s my first month so really a new thing for me!

Meg310532 · 02/01/2025 14:50

@Rainbowchaser87 nooo honestly the amount of questions I have asked people, im
just so grateful to have everyone on this chat !!! We are lucky to have a platform like this that we can all help. So the first time I did it with CRP when they wouldn’t let me trigger I took three letrozole a day (not sure why they said to take that many) this time round I took two a day which was the perfect dose. Do you ovulate by yourself already? What was your reason for doing superovulation? So if you don’t take the trigger shot it means your body will only release one egg. So I was still able to have sex but I just wasn’t allowed the trigger as the trigger would release all the eggs and they didn’t want that to happen as it would mean I would have all of my 6 eggs or however many I had I can’t remember the exact amount all release . So this month they allowed me to trigger so all three would release. I’m about 2 and half hours away on a good run but about three and half in rush hour from ours so we tend to stay at his parents as it’s closer xxx

@Meg310532 yes!! So glad we got mumsnet! Thanks for your answers! I think I understand better how it works.
I usually ovulate by myself but I wanted to speed it up a little. However my cycle is still very weird…last month I didn’t ovulate at all, which is very weird so I stopped the aspirin in the evening for now. Why did u start Latrozole? I am having lots of night sweats though 😅

Meg310532 · 02/01/2025 15:33

@Rainbowchaser87 i did it also for the same reason to speed things up and also because I ovulate so late day like 21 and have PCOS so some months I may not ovulate. The pre ovulation infusion is to help with the implantation so it’s deff best to have that the same time as your follicle scan! Have you had an infusion before I can’t remember if you said you had ? Xx

OP posts:
Rainbowchaser87 · 02/01/2025 15:41

@Meg310532 yes, I think this month will be my 3rd infusion. They told me though that you can have it anytime during your cycle…but it’s convenient to pack everything in one appointment.
Have you read any tread re Latrozole and multiples outcomes? Xx

Notsure31 · 02/01/2025 15:45

May be a long shot, but thought I would jump on this thread if anyone knows. Does anyone know how I can get an out of area referral to Dr Shehata on the nhs, does he still offer NK cell testing in his nhs clinics?

Rainbowchaser87 · 02/01/2025 15:52

Hi @Notsure31 I listened to one of Prof Shehata podcasts and I think he still tests for NK cells via NHS. There were some differences though I can’t remember…if I find the podcast I will message it to you. I think u can ask GP for referral out of area. I did for another doctor. If NHS Shehata isn’t possible (St Helier Hospital) you can ask referral to Coventry Hospital with Tommy’s charity. XHope yjis helps x

Meg310532 · 02/01/2025 15:56

@Rainbowchaser87 they told me that I had to have one pre ovulation and then one as soon as I get a positive test and then one a month from
then on. They are fine though aren’t they, just a bit of ££££ ! Let’s hope that this month is our month !! Fingers crossed. What day is your day 10 scan is it weds next week? X
