So sorry you find yourself in this situation again too.
Did you find it harder with the MMC around at 12 weeks?
Ik really struggling with mine today.
can you tell me about aspirin? What dose do you take? Only when you get a positive test?
I was on progesterone this time and wonder if that’s why my body hung on to the pregnancy. I’m glad in a way because it stopped growing when I was in NYC and that would have been awful.

I have the low dose aspirin 75mg - taken from a positive result until end of 1st trimester. I only used it the first time with my full term pregnancy, then didn’t when we fell pregnant again - and I had a mmc. It sohnds stupidly superstitious of me, but I went out to get some this time just in case it was what made the difference last time. If you google low dose aspirin pregnancy, there has been a few studies on using it for women how have had repeated early losses x

Hi everyone. Just skim read the last few weeks posts. Sorry you are all dealing with this shitty situation. I'm on day 2 of a miscarriage when I should be 8 weeks today. It's my 6th pregnancy and should have been my third child. I didn't come here before TTC this pregnancy as I had 2 successful pregnancies one after the other and was hoping this would just follow suit.

Unfortunately life had other plans and I went from absolutely fine one day to waking up with bleeding the next. I did get scanned yesterday and they couldn't find anything but thickened lining so I don't actually know how long the pregnancy lasted. I'm willing to bet it ended a couple of weeks ago at least as symptoms weren't as strong I expected. One of my previous losses was a MMC found at the 12 week scan so I know my body can hang on longer than necessary when it's not viable.

I'm interested in any supplement suggestions as I'm getting on a bit now at 37 so I guess every little helps. I've been taking folic acid and pregnancy vitamins as I should be on high dose folic acid anyway.noh and aspirin from positive test like with my previous 2.

Again, sorry we are all here. I've had good support from threads like this in the past. It's definitely helpful when things are getting a bit much.

So Sorry Essa.
I’m in a similar situation..
Ive been taking seven seas supplements as mentioned previously by another poster. I’ve also gone out and got some low dose aspirin. I have had it prescribed in previous pregnancies but this time was told I didn’t need it and it ended in a MMC.

I also asked my GP for a thyroid function test & a full blood count xx

When did people take a HCG test to check it’s coming up as negative? I had my TFMR only a week ago so I know it’s probably too soon but I’m wanting my cycle to get back to normal asap, it’s frustrating not knowing when things will go back to normal. I want to start ovulation testing but I know there’s no point in this until all my HCG has gone.

Also during my TFMR pregnancy I had a 29mm fibroid diagnosed, the consultant didn’t seem too concerned about it in relation to ttc again and doesn’t think it will cause a problem however wasn’t able to 100% say if it would cause another early loss or not. They said I could be referred for a hysteroscopy if I wanted but if they try to remove I might risk scarring, I’ve already had 3 d&cs from miscarriages so don’t want to increase risk of this (my TFMR was medical management). Does anyone have experience of fibroids in relation to ttc?

Superscientist · 22/03/2025 16:56

In my last miscarriage I took one test after 2 weeks which was a faint line and then another test I week late which was negative. We had already had started having sex again and I wanted to be able to compare how strong the line was between 2 and 3 weeks post miscarriage. The epu said to test after 3 weeks and to let them know if it's still positive

I was told 3 weeks after xx

SnakebitesandSambucas · 22/03/2025 20:26

@Notsure31 my epu said 2 weeks minimum for a test. I had a hysteocospy and lap just before falling pregnant. It can help make you more fertile apparently but I'm not sure. But after 4 back to back this pregnancy has stuck. No changes to meds, life style etc.

Bellabubble · 22/03/2025 22:13

@Notsure31 same 3 weeks for me too - that was EPAC’s advice to me - I did test earlier but it was pretty much 3 weeks to the day.

my friend has a fybroid and from what I can remember it was fairly large - but she was able to conceive and had a healthy bubba. She had to have a c-section because of where it was placed,I think it was blocking her cervix and they said a V birth would run the risk of it bleeding dangerously - but other than that, they seemed fairly unconcerned by it. They haven’t removed it still because of it’s awkward position x

Esssa · 23/03/2025 10:55

Had confirmation this morning that my bloods are dropping like a stone. 2000 on Thursday when the bleeding started and 500 yesterday. Fingers crossed it keeps going and doesn't hang around for ages. Shows it was already dropped before my first test though as I don't think 2000 is very high for nearly 8 weeks. So I'm just waiting for this shitty bit to be over then I can get back to TTC.

I've just been told 3 weeks for a negative test but I will be checking at 2 weeks as well. I like to see the difference and if I'm lucky it might have gone early. Tbh though halving my numbers every 48hrs does get me to 3 weeks out. I'm being referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic though apparently it could be august before I get an appointment. Anyone know what they do/test for?

@Ncl31 the MMC was medically managed and required an overnight stay in the hospital. The drugs to induce were harder on my body than a spontaneous loss. I was taking one 75mg aspirin a day from my positive test this time though I know ivf can call for it earlier than this. Hope you are doing ok

Ncl31 · 23/03/2025 11:14

@Esssa ao sorry to hear you needed an overnight stay.
I was so thankful to be home within hours of my surgical management.

ive had a really rough few days mentally. But today I have tickets for the women’s football which I bought whilst I was still pregnant to take my niece. I honestly couldn’t think of anything worse than this but I can’t let her down, I’m also hoping it’ll do me some good.

hope you’re okay too

Esssa · 23/03/2025 11:24

They got me in at 6pm and started meds by 7.30. I think I got out by 2-3pm the next day so overnight was inevitable.

I couldn't hack being out and about for that long at the moment. I managed to avoid the supermarket shop yesterday. My husband dropped me off for my blood test and took the kids shopping on his own for the first time.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 23/03/2025 16:17

@Esssa the recurrent misscarrige clinic found out I have aps blood clotting issues. Also low bit d, ferritan, folate. Etc. also scans to show endo and ademysosis. I found my doctor to be pretty useless tbh as well as an asshole. But I hope you have a better time.

Esssa · 23/03/2025 16:25

@SnakebitesandSambucas Blood tests could be helpful. Not really expecting much as I'm overweight and I'm sure mostly it will be blamed on that. 'If you just lose weight all your ills will be cured'. I think it's run by a nurse specialist who by all accounts is lovely so fingers crossed no arseholes involved. Sorry you had to deal with one though. I'm not waiting for the appointment before TTC though as I've not got the time to waste. It took 4 months to fall with this one so we may get there without another pregnancy anyway.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 23/03/2025 16:36

Yes I was overweight when I had both my living children. Dropped down to a moderate BMI, but i have been trying for a third since 2020. Had testing down on the babies but came back clear no genetic reasons. I had nudged back up to a high BMI in this pregnancy due to recovery from my operations. But I was healthier in that I was doing gym, yoga pilates etc. I was on the same med regime. But I am older so my eggs won't be as good. Has your partners sperm been tested? Mines was and it pretty low mobility he took some supplements.

Esssa · 23/03/2025 16:45

No we have had zero tests so far. So right at the beginning. We had the 2 children with no problems. Both conceived first month trying (sorry!) We are both now older (37 and 45) and fatter and it's definitely not been as easy. I feel like previously my body hasn't recognised 'bad' embryos and started them off anyway. I've always conceived quickly and then it's been 50/50 how it proceeded. This is the first time trying where I've had to wait to fall pregnant. I'm 37 though and BMI has crept to just over 40. I'll be doing my best to shift that number lower though in the next few months.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 23/03/2025 17:54

No need to apologise for your journey! I'm 37 now so I know it took me longer in between misscarriges. My BMI at its highest was 33. So I'm not judging but it will help your overall health to reduce it him as well as you. Age will be a factor in good quality eggs when heading into late 30's. But you can get a scan privately and they can give you some idea of egg count, etc. But it's to taken as a whole picture not just a single factor.

Beanie14 · 24/03/2025 09:41

Hi everyone sorry to find yourselves here.
I’m currently 8+5 weeks pregnant and had a massive scare last week. I started bleeding really heavily! Thought for sure it was a miscarriage. Baby is ok when they scanned but I have a really big heamatoma which is still bleeding. They also found I have a bicornuate uterus, after some research it can cause issues with fertility so can explain why it took so long conceiving. Worryingly if this haematoma isn’t scary enough on its own. I have an increased risk of miscarriage. So I’m terrified waiting for my 12 week scan now.
if the TTC wait wasn’t stressful enough when you do conceive it doesn’t get any easier thinking that it can all be taken away. No point to this post other than to vent in a place I know you girls will understand xx

Fullofconfusion · 24/03/2025 10:25

@Beanie14 congratulations. Wishing you every bit of luck that everything goes smoothly. I can imagine how stressful being pregnant is after previously suffering a loss. Fingers crossed for your scan

SnakebitesandSambucas · 24/03/2025 12:42

@Beanie14 I have a bicornuate uterus as well. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 For your scan I know the anxiety inducing terror of them. I still get terrified even now at 30 weeks pregnant x

Ncl31 · 01/04/2025 12:15

Hi ladies, how are you all doing?

those of you who have had a d&c when did you get your first period after?
its 4 weeks tomorrow for me since mine. We’ve purposely avoided TTC until I get my period for a “reset” if you like.
But now I feel like I’m starting heal emotionally I’m eager to try again, time is not on our side.

Taysonic · 01/04/2025 13:21

Hi all.

Hope you don't mind me joining? I've read through the last couple of pages of posts and whilst it's heartbreaking to hear your stories and learn of your experiences, I know I'm in good company.

I've just been through my first miscarriage. I guess I was 'lucky' in that it was early, and didn't require any intervention or management. Difficult to know exactly when 'it' happened as I bled throughout the pregnancy but had some significant pains when I was just over 5 weeks, and then had a strong red bleed at 6 weeks which started last Thursday.

My partner is really struggling. I have a DS who's 8 yrs old from a previous relationship but this was my partner's first experience of pregnancy and he was so excited. Although horrible, I think going through the physical aspects of it has helped me process, but he's really finding it difficult. Any advice on things that have helped support your partners?

I'm keen to get trying again, as soon as we're able to. My bloods yesterday showed really low HCG levels of 23, so I'm almost officially not pregnant. I'm 36 so don't feel like time is on my side to wait.

Confusedmermaid1 · 01/04/2025 13:23

@Ncl31 i had my surgery on 20th Jan and first period on 21st Feb so 4 weeks 3 days ish
Hope you get your period soon, I almost felt I couldn’t begin to deal with it until I’d had both a negative test and first period after

Notsure31 · 01/04/2025 13:47

@Ncl31 no advice but I’m in the same boat of waiting for period to ttc again after a TFMR 2.5 weeks ago, so I know I’ve got a while to wait, I’m still spotting and tested positive still on hcg on Saturday. And I’ve been LH testing which are staying weirdly high but not a peak level, which I guess is due to leftover hcg so there’s probably no point in me doing them tbh.

Does anyone have experience of going to either Dr Shehata or Professor Bronsens for NK cell testing? We have been referred to Dr Shehata’s NHS clinic who offer NK cell testing which I believe is blood testing, but I’m also looking at paying private for professor bronsens because it’s a lot cheaper and I know he tests for both low and high NK cells which I don’t know if Dr S does? I know professor bronsens tests are confined to uterine NK cell testing whereas I think Dr S tests them as a whole. I’m not even convinced I have this problem as two out of my 4 losses were chromosome issues, one of which I had to TFMR at 16 weeks, with the other two they are unknown however I do have autoimmune thyroid disease which puts me at risk for high NK cells.

Bellabubble · 01/04/2025 16:40

@Ncl31 i was 4 weeks after my first and second, and 10.5 weeks after my most recent one x

Ncl31 · 01/04/2025 17:07

@Confusedmermaid1 that’s reassuring to hear thank you. Sorry you’re also going through this, are you trying again straight away? I tested negative 7 days after my d&c, I was 11+5 but baby measure 10+5.

@Notsure31 oh I’m so sorry, I can’t even begin to imagine how a TFMR feels. It’s positive that you’re able to look forwards though. I’m sorry I have no advice on NK cell testing.

@Bellabubble it seems it could be anytime from
about now then I guess. Hopefully not another 6 weeks though.

we are still awaiting our cytogenetic test results. I think I might find it easier to process once we have them, especially if it shows something. I think my head is holding out for those. Even though I know it can’t turn back time or change anything.

Fullofconfusion · 01/04/2025 19:31

@Taysonicmy partner struggled too. He doesn’t really show his emotions so I think he found the whole thing difficult to deal with as he tried to keep everything bottled up and avoided conversations about the loss. We had a TFMR so slightly different. I think the trauma of it took him a good 6 months to get his head around. Maybe longer. He still can’t get excited about trying now. It’s more fear for him. Also first experience of pregnancy
