I knew what you meant I have just found out from my Mum that her friend's daughter (who's had problems ttc) has just found out she's pg after IUI and I'm genuinely pleased for her - someone I've never even met/spoken to!

Hi all

KD - fab news.. What a great Xmas gift... I wonder will it have a blue or pink bow?

Ready - sorry to hear your on another cycle... big hugs and so ... GRRRRRRR

Gilly - Fantastic news about the clomid and start of your IUI

nomoremagnolia - Well done on the injections. I'm a right pansy and had to get my mum do do mine!

scared - many congratulations

I went for my appointment on Thursday with our new consultant and we have been accepted for an NHS funded IVF. We are starting our first cycle in Sept and have a meeting booked in with the clinic in August for all the info. They actually said I could start in 2 weeks, but my DH really needs some space and time to relax and wanted to start in Oct, but I talked him down to Sept, but I totally agree with him, so we have a few holidays booked and did not want to cancel them. I'm doing IVF plus blastocyst culture as they only want to use one embryo due to my past history of prem labour. They also found something in my bloods that could explain extra bleeding, but does not explain the clots and are doing more tests on that. Something to do with my white blood cells and also she thinks that I suffer from alot of anovulatory cycles, which they can tell from my response with the natural IUI cycles and the changes noticed from clomid IUI. She feels this is why it takes me longer to get pregnant and is a symptom of PCO. So we got a few answers and a clear plan and are very happy with the outcome. She said it is hardwork getting a good embryo for the blastocyst but has a much higher success rate than normal IVF when they get a viable embryo. Normal IVF at their clinic is 24-30% and with the treatment they are giving us its 50% and decreases our changes of a multiple significantly. We feel like there is some light at the end of the tunnel... Fingers crossed hey!

Anyway, hope everyone is ok we are away in Wales for next week, so will catch up on my return. Love Rah Xx

Just wanted to drop in to let nomoremagnolia and ready know that I have had a miscarriage

Sorry to put a dampner on things in here but was having a look to see how you were getting on and noticed my news at the start of the thread

Am quite low right now and things are a bit sh*t but I'm sure things will get better and I'll get through this.

Just wanted to let you know.

x

kd73 · 24/05/2008 21:15

I'm sorry Mummy2Olivia. Look after yourself.

Oh Ammy, I am so sorry to hear your news. Thinking of you, sweets. Take really good care of yourself. You will get through this, don't give up. Make sure you take time to grieve. Sorry x

evergrounded · 28/05/2008 13:32

Hello again ladies- it's been great to read the latest news! Kd73- have you had your scan now? (just checking date of your last post...) I have everything crossed for you. I am absolutely OUTRAGED that your employers are being so unreasonable / ridiculous about your time off sick! Rahrah is right- they cannot possibly take disciplinary action because you've been off for 2 miscarriages! How ridiculous! Sorry, rant over....

I think I have finally managed to stop obsessing about TTC- got an appointment with the consultant on 25 June, so am genuinely not going to think about it until then- have also decided to stop keeping such a close track of my periods / ovulation, as it was actually turning me into an obsessive symptom-spotter!! From now on, am just going to note down day when AF starts, but not count the days in between, if you see what I mean. I need some sanity!!

Ready · 28/05/2008 17:33

Sounds sensible to me evergrounded, a bit like me at the moment. I am back to the old fashioned, mark my period and expect it about 28 days later mode - sometimes a step back is all you need. Fingers crossed

kd73 · 28/05/2008 17:49

Hi

Just a quick update to let you know that I stopped counting my days after the 2nd m/c in Jan. Previously I had a spreadsheet detailing every detail including EWCM, days of nookie everything and would then be really disappointed when period arrived. I still looked for the signs (some habits die hard) and then shagged for England, now look....

Anyway I now look like shit, feel like shit and if I am not eating, you'll find me asleep somewhere. On the plus I have a midwife appt tomorrow and then scan's booked for the next 3 Wednesdays, so I shouldn't moan!

Sending really good vibes out for you Gilly, try not to be nervous, fingers and toes firmly crossed!!

RahRah1 · 30/05/2008 19:24

GILLY ... thinking big positive vibes for a juicy egg for you... all the way from sunny (a rather wet) Wales :0

Have you got any names for your juicy numbers?

viksam · 30/05/2008 22:53

gilly How did it go today, i have just caught up with this thread so really hope it went well. Id really like to here what happened and what they did, if ur willing to share.

Really interested to hear that lots of you dont count and stuff, thats made me feel lots better, i have been beating myself up about perhaps not doing enough but i am boarder line obsessive anyhow so if i really started counting etc id loose the plot. I know what day im on but thats about it. Thanks everyone for making me feel better.

I did acupuncture for the first time today, have any of you guys had it, if so how much did you pay?? and did you like it??

Have a nice weekend everyone xxx

kd73 · 31/05/2008 08:52

Gilly So sorry about Thursday & shocked that they don't do IUI on Fridays! I hope that when you go back tomorrow, all will be good.

I am doing well in the sense that I've had 2 + scans and haven't had any bleeding. But somehow I just feel like really low today. I have another scan on Wed (3 sleeps away) but I can't help but feel that my lucks about to run out or has done already. My symptoms are disappearing and whilst I feel more human, its making me feel very nervous.

Why can't this just be piggin' easy?

(Apologies for cutting and pasting)
I'm back home with 2 embryos back where they belong Unfortunately none of the others were good enough to freeze The ones they put back were 5 and 7 cells, the others had slowed down/stopped at 3-4 cells. They didn't say what grades they were though.

Ready · 01/06/2008 20:19

Ok... just checking in before holiday tomorrow... we have to leave the house really early tomorrow, as we fly out early - so won't get another chance before we get back... unless there is a computer in the hotel, then I might pop in and see what's what.

Good luck Gilly with the IUI and the second interview. Thinking of you petal. Fingers and toes crossed.

Nomore, sorry about the other embies - but you are not going to need them, so try not to worry. Now I am thinking sticky thoughts for implantation and my fingers and toes are crossed.

Kd, honey, I am sorry to hear that you are feeling low. I can't imagine how worrying this must be for you, but do try to enjoy being pregnant, thinking of you - hope all goes well at your scan.

Viksam, can't help on the acu, but if you enjoy it and you feel you get something out of it, then I say go for it.

Rah, hope you are having a lovely time in wet Wales. Sending you big hugs.

Everyone else. Sorry for the lack of personal messages, but I really ought to go and get something to eat.

PS... Anyone heard from Coggy lately?? How long was she going to Africa?
