Thought it was time for a new thread - we're almost out of room on the original one

Hi Evergrounded, whilst the clomid was recommended, to date I have not had any and fell pg with "just" the use of many ovulation kits and 1 x willing partner !!!!

My only regret was not getting referred earlier and perhaps having the laparoscopy sooner

nomoremagnolia · 09/05/2008 16:11

Hi girls
Just stopping us from getting lost down the bottom of the list!
Hope you're all well and enjoying the sunshine.

I am getting ready to go out, and thought I would pop in and see if anything exciting had happened while I was out in the garden today?

Hi all - I've been away for a hen w/e
Gilly I know what you mean about the time - it's a bit like a relationship, the first few months you know exactly how long you've been together (to the day!) and as time goes by you find yourself not even knowing. For the NHS treatment I had to put on a form how long DH and I had been together and I had to do the maths of "it's 2008 now and we met in 1999 so thats...er...nine years" I also agree about the distraction of knitting - I fear I have a slightly obsessive addictive streak in me and so getting into knitting has really helped give me something else to focus on.
Ready How are you? Did you get any gardening done or were you just sunbathing?

kd73 · 11/05/2008 21:33

Isn't the weather fab!!! I am off on holiday tomorrow down to Cornwall. Lets hope the weather lasts

No More - hope you had a fab weekend and behaved badly!!

Gilly - Thanks for asking about scan - 10 sleeps to go (a week on Wednesday). Hopefully things will be ok this time around, particularly as I found out that another leave of absence will result in disciplinary action. I've been off 3 times in a year - 2 x due to miscarriages

Ready - Hope you are well and remembered your sun screed

Evergrounded - How are you?

Peachy - Hope you are feeling better

Sorry if I have missed anyone - keep well

RahRah1 · 12/05/2008 09:20

Hi KD... They will be very hard pushed to put you on disciplinary for 2 miscarriages. I would challenge HR. Plus as you are pregnant at the moment they can't touch you with a barge pole if you decide to take sick. If they threaten you with a disciplinary ask for it to be put in writing to your email address at work and exactly what their sickness policy is. Normally its 3 periods of sick for non related illnesses and no underlying conditions.
If you ask for it in writing they normally back off as HR are always reluctant to put pressure on in writing as you can use it in evidence to challenge their behavior. They defo should not be putting any pressure on you considering the 2 miscarriage and should be avoiding putting you under any stress or extra pressure.

Right = hope everyone else is enjoying the sunshine and that all is OK. I have my appointment next week on the 22nd..... trying not to think about it, but getting nervous already.

EachPeachPearPlum · 12/05/2008 10:40

Hi everyone,

Hope you all enjoyed the wonderful weather at the weekend! Thanks for your advice about feeling depressed. I think after this month I'm going to stop counting if I can, and stop 'trying' and see if that helps at all.

DH and I were also thinking about all the good things about not having a child on Saturday and I was surprised - it was actually a really long list. I still want one obviously, but it was a good reminder that we have a lot to be thankful for already.

What kinds of things do you all knit? I did a scarf a couple of years ago and it took me 9 months! After all that I still couldn't knit without looking. It seems to take me a long time to learn those kinds of manual skills... It took me years of working on computers full time before I could even vaguely touch type, and now I can mainly do letters but not numbers or symbols!

kd73 - I'm very jealous that you're going to Cornwall this week! Hope the weather is amazing!

Gilly, I think you are right, everyone has been enjoying the sunshine! Long may it continue, but I am not sure it will. It?s been too hot here for me to knit my cushion cover, so I will perhaps suggest you have it on standby for the cooler summer days? Ravelry rocks doesn?t it!! All your knitting is sooo good.

Nomore, I certainly caught some sun, but was most definitely gardening. It needed it, it was a disgrace.
Slightly obsessive nature? That sounds like me that does
I have to say, I do agree that having something else to focus energy on is a massive help ? I have knitting, painting and now, gardening/feeding the birds.
So excited that half my shrug is done ? how lovely. Thank you again.

Kd, you bet, factor 30 here, I am a burner
I have to say, you mustn?t let time off work upset you ? as has been said, as you are pregnant they cannot stop you from having time off. I am fairly sure if you can explain your absences then they can?t discipline you? Miscarriages are hardly sniffles are they! Look after yourself.

EachPeach, totally with you on reasons to be thankful. It?s not to say we don?t want babies, we do, but we should enjoy our time without just as much. Hard to do at times though.
I am currently knitting a cushion cover, and probably still will be in another year I am slow.

Everyone else? hope you are all well?

nomoremagnolia · 15/05/2008 12:27

Hi girls Sorry I've not been around much, have been getting a bit self-obsessed with the IVF. Hope you're all well, it's been very quiet on here.

EachPeachPearPlum · 16/05/2008 08:47

Hope the IVF preparation is going well nomore. What stage are you at now?

I am thinking about getting back into knitting now you've all inspired me! I have some organic wool under the bed that I never really started using and it would be really nice for a little blanket .

EachPeachPearPlum · 16/05/2008 15:26

injections... hope they're not too bad.

What's Ravelry then? Is it for talking about knitting?

Ready · 16/05/2008 16:37

Ravelry is amazing... it is a community for knitters (and crocheters) to share patterns and chat or whatever really... It's highly addictive!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOD LUCK NOmore with the injections and everything, thinking of you and your dh lots at the moment, and sending out lots of positive thoughts for you!!!

Hope everyone is well?

xx

scared1976 · 17/05/2008 10:07

hi ladies, thought id pop back and say hi. Found out was expecting 2 weeks ago after 18 months of trying. Oddly was the first month that Id used the clear digital ovu sticks (much clearer than the line ones) and the first month i tried acupuncture! maybe it really does work.

Now have whole new list of worries of course about whether it is going to be ok. THank you all alot for all of the support and advice and best of luck everyone.

hugs x x x

nomoremagnolia · 17/05/2008 11:20
