Thought it was time for a new thread - we're almost out of room on the original one

Yes Ready, then DP was diagnosed with testicular cancer! He's all good now though! Hoping everyone graduates soon x

mummy2olivia · 04/01/2009 16:50

ready I am sooooo pleased for you!!! CONGRATS!!! I bet you cant believe it can you???

I remember you a couple of years back having the same doubts that I have now- will it ever happen? what am I doing wrong? And even through all of it, you kept supporting everyone else....you deserve it, am soo happy for you

I'm sorry to ask this but I am sure everyone else feels the same but I want the full story! What happened? What was going on with you? I need all the details- we havent seen you in ages and then you turn up with a bump!!! I'm sorry but that isn't allowed! Gory details please!

AppleAndBlackberry · 05/01/2009 13:56

Yes please to gory details

Ready - yes it is morning all day sickness. Really looking forward to the second trimester! Actually I did start to feel the other day like there might actually be a baby at the end of this, which was quite exciting.

Did anyone get any exciting Christmas presents or are we too old for that now? I got some PJs from DH, which was perfect really as I'm living in them at the moment.

On other news I've just found out that Mothercare don't do my fantasy-baby-shopping buggy any more so I may need some help finding a new contender. It was going to be the Urban Detour Quantum but now I think my choices are the Quinny Buzz, Britax Vigour 3 or Bugaboo Chameleon. I like the Buzz best, but the problem with that and the Bugaboo is I'd rather it looked discreet IYSWIM. Any thoughts?

duchesse · 05/01/2009 14:10

Ready! Fab news!! I'm up the duff as well. about 9 weeks (obv not my first, but hellish overdue anyway). A big hi to all the old Huttees on here.

mistlethrush · 05/01/2009 14:22

OMG duchesse... Many congratulations...

nomoremagnolia · 06/01/2009 14:28

A&B Have you seen the mothercare my choice pram? seat/carrycot unit works like the bug seat/carrycot but there's a choice of 3 or 4 wheel chassis and it's cheaper too.

Hi everyone - do you have room for a newbie?

I'm not that new, really. I've been posting on the Temping Buddies thread for a while, but it went a bit quiet and I stopped temping anyway, so I'm looking for a new home.... And this looks like a lucky thread!

DH and I are in our 15th month now (which FEELS like forever......)and are just starting on the tests and consultant appointments, so it would be great to have some people around to hold my hand. I had my bloods done yesterday and on Christmas Eve and my HyCoSy is booked for this Thursday. I'm not especially looking forward to it - think I'll be able to cope with the pain but very nervous of what they might find...... Would be interested to hear other people's experiences of this test.

Congratulations to all those who are now expecting. I recognise some of the names from lurking, and am very encouraged!

nomoremagnolia · 06/01/2009 21:19

Hi treats welcome to the thread - it's about time we had some new blood, everyone keeps graduating!

OP posts:
AppleAndBlackberry · 07/01/2009 10:02

Ooh - I like that one nomore! It does exactly what I want without being too noticeable. I wonder if that's come out to replace the Quantum. I think I like the black or grey one - white seems a bit insane! Will definitely be trying that out if it's still around in 4 or 5 months.

Hi Treats and welcome to the thread! I haven't had a HyCoSy but I think maybe gilly had one?

nomoremagnolia · 07/01/2009 12:21

A&B my choice is a new version of one they launched about a year ago - and it's compatible with the maxi cosi car seat too (the older one was called my 3/ my 4 and was only compatible with the mothercare car seat) I really like the look (and price) of it.

OP posts:
AppleAndBlackberry · 07/01/2009 13:09

I've also just noticed Maxi Cosi have brought one out - the Mura. I can't work out if I like it or not to look at, but it looks quite well made and the price looks good.

Treats · 07/01/2009 13:38

Hi nomore and A&B - thanks for the welcome.

Had to collect my pre-screening drugs this morning. I need two antibiotics and a painkiller for my scan (two of the drugs are suppositories !). I'm looking forward to it even less now....... DH has to do his test tomorrow morning, but his is easy and quite enjoyable by comparison. How not fair it is to be the woman!

I'm lost in the pushchair conversation. I can't bring myself to look at or think about baby stuff yet, but hope there'll be some good advice when the time comes!

mummy2olivia · 07/01/2009 20:46

nomore any news on the lap and dye!!

I'm new blood too! If DH wouldnt keep buggering off with work

Hi gilly - thanks for your message. You've put my mind at rest (a bit!) about the HyCoSy - thanks! Going to try and relax and not be too much of a baby about it...... Am thrilled to find this is also a thread of knitters - a trip to buy new yarn is the planned post-scan treat!

I hope this isn't too personal a question, but I see in your message to A&B that you've been diagnosed with a fibroid. Was this diagnosed by the HSC or did this become apparent later? The reason I'm asking is because I suffer from appalling painful periods - my last one (on NYE) was the worst ever, I literally couldn't stand. I'm hoping that the HyCoSy might give an insight into what's making the pain so bad. I'm just wondering whether it picks up everything like fibroids, endometriosis etc. If not, what tests did you have later that picked it up? Hope you don't mind me asking....

AppleAndBlackberry · 12/01/2009 10:58

Feeling a bit better thanks Gilly. I haven't been sick for a few days now so it seems to be subsiding a bit. Work is letting me work from home too, which makes things much easier. Great news about the IVF .

RahRah1 · 12/01/2009 11:13

Fantastic news gilly, so happy for you that they have confirmed all your ivf schedule. So exciting!!!!!! Hope all goes alright at work. Xxxxx

Hello to everyone else... I'm still in bed on my I phone!!! How lazy am I!

nomoremagnolia · 12/01/2009 15:38

gilly good news you've got the dates - and it goes quite quickly, just take one week at a time
rah wish I was still in bed!
I'm getting really fed up with my body - I've got sore boobs and it's still over a week before AF. I usually get this a couple of days before AF, not a week before! It's bloody annoying and uncomfortable Sorry just needed to rant.
A&B any more thoughts on prams?

OP posts:
nomoremagnolia · 12/01/2009 15:39

m2o sorry - forgot to say hi to you no date as yet for lap and dye...still patiently waiting

OP posts:
Treats · 12/01/2009 16:09

nomore - I often get sore boobs up to two weeks before my period, so I can sympathise. Poor DH is scared to touch me in case I yelp in pain. It's so much worse when you're ttc as well - you obsess about whether it's a pre-AF or a pregnancy symptom.......

Had my HyCoSy on Thursday. Blooming uncomfortable but over quite quickly. Thankfully they didn't find anything - I was torturing myself with thinking about what they might find down there and what it might mean, but everything's fine. going to call the hospital later this week and see if I can bring forward the follow up appt.

nomore - is a lap and dye the same as a HyCoSy - they basically inserted a probe into my cervix and then squirted some dye - or is it something different? Have you been waiting a long time?

nomoremagnolia · 12/01/2009 16:20

treats Glad they didn't find anything wrong for you. A lap and dye is the one where they put a camera (like the ones used in keyhole surgery) down your tubes to actually look at what's there. I've been waiting since my EP in Nov

OP posts:
nomoremagnolia · 12/01/2009 16:21

I know it's a pre-af symptom. If I even vaguely thought it was a pg symptom I wouldn't be moaning!

OP posts:
Ready · 12/01/2009 17:33

Hi ladies

Gilly, it was lovely to have a secret with just me and dh.

Nomore, I am not trying to say your sore (o)(o) are not period related... however... I was certain my period was coming, I even bought a jumbo pack of sanitary pads (which are sitting unopened in the cupboard!) - all the pre-period cramps were present and the sore boobs, ouch! I never believed before that you could feel pre-menstrual and be pregnant... now I know better.

How is everyone? Treats, you are in the right place, this is a great thread, with great girls!!

x
