Hello! May I join your chat? We have been ttc for 2 years now.... had a pos preg test - only to be folowed by 2 neg ones, just waiting for AF now waiting for lap & dye op next year. it's been great reading some of the stories back on this thread, hope we're lucky some time!

RahRah1 · 08/12/2008 14:07

HI Gilly

I'm not sure. From doing the IUI I was allowed to do that back to back, but never did it with injections. I know from the IVF consultation we had they said if the IVF fails they like to leave it a cycle, but not sure if that is due to the drugs. I would phone up your IVF clinic and ask them if you should bother with the remaining IUI cycle. Sorry could not be any more help Hope you are OK...

ttc2yrs - hello, sorry to hear you have been trying for 2yrs , hope your positive was a positive, have you been to the doctors?

Hello to everyone else...

AppleAndBlackberry · 08/12/2008 14:32

Hi everyone. I am feeling quite sick now and have outgrown all my bras, so thats kind of reassuring and I'm starting to get used to the idea! I saw the doctor this morning and she was really nice, so that was good because I've seen a couple of not-so-nice ones in the past.

Hi ttc2years! I'd say welcome to the thread but I guess I'm not officially a member any more... Anyway I'm sure you'll get some great support here.

Hope everyone else is doing well .

RahRah1 · 08/12/2008 15:21

Hi AppleAndBlackberry.. Glad to hear all is well... big boobs.... bet your DH is pleased... mine are like rockets.. but DH is not coming anywhere near me!

He is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO in my bad books!

He went out on Saturday night, crawled in about 1pm and then puked through our master bedroom into the hallway, puked on doors and walls in the hallway, massacred the main bathroom and then later when I was screaming at him decided to try his luck at our on-suite...

By the morning we had to wash all the walls, carpet, bathrooms, dressing gowns, towels, bath mats, bedding and to top it all off he has curry and chips on the way home and the cat licked up some of the sick!

I can't express how pee'd off I am at him...

OHHHHHHHH MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!

ttc2yrs · 08/12/2008 18:58

Hey guys, well having had fertility investigations for the last year (next step is a lap & dye) we had another faint positive today and took it to the Dr's with the other tests I've done. He sent me to the hospital to have my blood tested (he said it would not show as a positive if it's a 'chemical' pregnancy as the hcg in my your system is created by the progression of the placenta - which is not present in a chemical pregnancy?) I didn't know that! So back the the point... we get the results 2moro for sure pregnant or not. so fingetrs crossed for us! Hope you are all well. Thank you for reading! We put our xmas tree up today, what a nice xmas pressie it would be!

Ready · 09/12/2008 18:59

Have a few minutes spare, so I thought I would pop in real quick and give each of you a big hug. I miss you all so much. I will be back soon, promise. Don't forget me.

Off to knit christmas presents - not enough hours in the day.

Hope everyone is well... thinking of you all everyday. xx

AppleAndBlackberry · 10/12/2008 15:49

((hugs Ready)), we miss you too.

ttc2yrs · 10/12/2008 20:00

The Dr sent me for blood test and found that teh HCG in my blood is less than 1 so I'm not pregnant I'm SOOOO pi**ed off at Sainsburys!! I took 6 of their tests in total, 4 of which were positive!! How lame! I'd never had a + test b4

On with the ttc game....

p.s sorry to vent.x

herbaceous · 11/12/2008 19:49

Hello ladies. Just thought I'd pop in to say hello and see how you all are. Great news A&B!

And Rah! We're almost pregnancy twins - I'm 12 weeks on 13 December! I have my nuchal fold scan and blood tests next week. Fortunately, we're not DH twins. What vileness. I hope he cleaned it all up himself. A woman in your condition doesn't want to be scrubbing up sick...

RahRah1 · 12/12/2008 15:03

Hi all

TTC2yrs - so sorry the test came back negative. I have read that you can get positive results when the egg has fertilised but not failed to implant in the womb and then you get negatives and AF. Apparently 1/2 of all pregnancies end like this, but most people never know as they don't test. Vent as much as you want.. we all understand.. sending lots of love Xxxx

Ready - WOOOOOOOHOOOOO sweetie... so good to see you... knitted Christmas pressies, how gorgeous. Love knitted stuff.

herbaceous - good to hear from you. Having my nuchal scan on the 18th... scary stuff... had my 12 week scan today and was measuring 12 weeks and 1 day. It had a skull, two arms, two legs and i'm sure its got a few other bits, but that's all they look for at this stage at the NHS scan. I'm stopping the steroids next week and the progesterone in two weeks. Placenta is not fully embedded yet, so they said to stay off work until next appointment at 16 weeks with consultant. He checked my cervix and all looked in tact and long etc... so they did swabs. My blood results also came back much better than in the last 2 yrs and my platelets have finally gone back into normal range! which I am so pleased about.

Hello to everyone else.... Gilly did you contact your clinic, what did you decide about the IUI?

Waves at nomoremagnolia - hope you are ok. Xxx

AppleAndBlackberry - how are you? Getting any symptoms yet? Xxx

Ready · 13/12/2008 17:54

The weather is terrible, I am suffering with a rotten cold, and hacking cough ? glamorous! And so I thought I would sit down and do a proper catch up!!

kd, how are you doing? How are you feeling? And is your bump nice and big I had to laugh when you said you could burst like in the Alien film. Nice ? so excited to hear all about your labour, not long now!! And it will be lovely to ?meet? babykd

Nomore, I hope you are ok, of course I have told you a million times off MN that you don?t deserve what you went through ? and I will say it until I am blue in the face. I really hope that out of this sadness comes some wonderful and positive things ? when are you having your lap and dye?

Jess, it is so lovely to hear from you ? and so exciting to hear that you had your ds. Tell us all about him. And yourself, how have you taken to motherhood?

Gilly, how are you? How was your ?early? Christmas with your family? It is lovely that you get to spread the festivities out What is happening with the iui? And ivf?

Apple&Blackberry, I have got the sewing bug, and have just ordered myself a sewing machine. Not in time to make presents for anyone this year, but definitely next year. I am all about hand made gifts ? so much more personal. I have been knitting scarves and hat, and I also have made some canvases with abstract art for a couple of people. Wonderful news about your bfp, had to giggle about you growing out of your bras already!! Haha.

Rah, now that is what I call a reaction for seeing me. Woo hoo ? It?s great to ?see? you too. How are you feeling? I hope you are resting lots. It?s great that the scan went well, I imagine it was fairly emotional for you and dh. Good news your cervix is intact ? and that your bloods are better. How do you feel? It?s a good idea to stay off work til 16 weeks. I presume you?ve had no problems in taking the time off?
Sorry to hear that dh vomited everywhere ? nice!!

Herbaceous 12 weeks huh! How lovely. How do you feel? Was it amazing having the scan? Have you started telling people now that you have your scan?
How?s your job going by the way? You hadn?t started all that long ago if I remember??

ttc2yrs, sorry to hear you are going through the mill. Fingers crossed for you.

Sorry if I have missed anyone, or repeated any questions ? I have been out of the loop for so long, it is not easy to catch up. But I am back now.

RahRah1 · 15/12/2008 17:11

YIPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE[f smile]

BIG CHRISTMAS CHEERS For READY!!!!!!!!!

So pleased you have posted my dear...

Hope your cold is getting better

Thanks for asking, I'm feeling ok thanks. Have another scan on Thursday at a private clinic, so fingers crossed all is ok with that. Then can try and relax into Xmas... YER RIGHT!!!
We are finding Xmas a little difficult as my brother and SIL are coming over from USA and bringing their daughter and she is the same age as Bertie and I think I told you he is areal arse about things. My mum has obviously made everything about the kid and has brought a million and one pressies and although we are trying, i'm finding it hard. I was round at my mums the other day and she called me to her bedroom and wanted me to help wrap my nieces xmas pressies and there were loads and I could not help but burst into tears as it should be our son as well.... so I'm just not sure about spending xmas with them and seeing how my parents adore her.. selfish I know but emotionally its so hard. I suppose I will just have to suck it up and deal with it.... God why is xmas so hard when its meant to be a nice day.. grrrrr

sorry to moan everyone.....

Hope everyone is well.... Lots of love Xxxx

AppleAndBlackberry · 16/12/2008 11:30

Hey everyone,

So glad you're back Ready . Hope the cold gets better soon.

I don't want to complain too much on here, as it goes without saying that I'm hugely grateful and lucky to finally be pregnant, but I feel really horrendous! I hadn't realised pregnancy was so awful. At least I have two weeks off for Christmas this year but I'm not sure how I'm going to get through the family things.

Rah - sorry to hear you're going to have a difficult Christmas. It must be really hard to see your niece at times like Christmas and see what you're missing out on. Sorry about your DH being crap too. Has he earned his way back into your good books yet?

Gilly and Nomore - haven't seen either of you for a while. Thinking of you. Hope the thread isn't too over-run with pregnant people

Ready · 18/12/2008 19:35

Ok, so I come back, and finally have a little time to chat with my dearest pals, and where are you all? Tut.

What is new? Any gossip? Everyone ready for christmas? I am SOO ready. I was born ready

Apple&Blackberry, you can complain if you like - I am sorry to hear that you are feeling horrendous - just remember it will all be worth it in the end

Rah, you'll give me a big head with all these woohoos and yippees - How was the scan today poppet? Hope all well. Relax and enjoy Christmas is a good plan.

nomore, really miss you lots flower. Lots and lots. Hope you are well, and knitting like a loon, like me

Everyone else... come on, I'm back, come and chat!!!!

A&B don't be daft about the thread being full of pg ladies - you give us hope!
Hi Gilly and Ready Sorry I've not been in touch much recently - I've been keeping busy to keep distracted. Lots of knitting, something for Yorky's new baby, a hat for one BF, a tea cosy for my granny and some other bits (can't tell you cause one's gone to Ready!)

OP posts:
RahRah1 · 19/12/2008 18:25

Hi all...

Look at this,, Ready is BACK and she is making demands already! But she is right girlies... we need to be posting more...no excuses of work and xmas!!!!

Well hot gossip from this side.... my brother has returned home today... hot footed it round to my house and announced his wife is 10-11 weeks pregnant... GRRRRRRR They do it every time....They even did it at my wedding and announced their engagement... If anyone knows the long story of my brother and SIL you will understand what I am talking about as they were less than sympathetic when we lost our son. Also if you looking at the time of this pregnancy that they have just announced, my parents had just told them I had M/C and they go and conceive themselves... We are sooooooo lucky to be pregnant again... so I don't want to moan too much... but there is so much deep rooted resentment and bitterness with my bro its another bitter pill to swallow.... Sorry to those that don't have a clue with what I am going on about. BUT

Ready - So glad you are back... oh looks like nomoremagnolia has knitted you a special something for xmas... ARRRRRRR...That is soooooo lovely. Xxxx

gillydaffodil - Don't worry about work... Tell them in the new year about the IVF and inform them from the off start its your number one priority. Work can get very involving but sometimes you have to stand back and do whats best for you. If you tell them your priorities from the start they can't argue! I think you are right about the IUI, did you call the clinic about it... what did they say?

nomoremagnolia - I'm dying to see this tea cosy for your granny.. post a picture... soon lovely Xxx

Well some good news from me went for my nuchal scan yesterday and the results came back 1: 10,000 which is brilliant. All looked good for the gestation and the ....drum roll.... she could not see any boy bits at this stage!!! But 1) it had its legs crossed and its hands on the back of its head like it was sun bathing... obviously does not take after me as I never relax! 2) It could have small boy bits .. Obviously takes after its father on that pointer too 3) Only 13 weeks and its still very hard to tell... but its not impossible to tell... So we will just have to wait and see...

Well I hope everyone else is keeping well... XXXX

nomoremagnolia · 19/12/2008 18:46

(((Rah))) and and on your behalf too.
I will post a pic of the tea cosy for you. BTW when you said ARRR I thought it was ARGH and was confused as to why you were frustrated that I'd made Ready a present!

OP posts:
nomoremagnolia · 19/12/2008 18:49

also CONGRATULATIONS on the scan showing such a low risk, you must be so relieved. Also don't worry too much about the boy bits at this stage - you'll never be 100% sure, friends of ours were told at their 20wk scan that they were having a girl and they had a boy! Bit of a suprise for all of us!

OP posts:
RahRah1 · 19/12/2008 18:49

Sorry meant ARRR - like lovely sweet... I could add in some too.. lol...

RahRah1 · 19/12/2008 18:53

Thanks nomoremagnolia, yep it was a big relief... I had a glimmer yesterday that we might finally be having a baby that we can bring home... but long way to go yet so still not getting my hopes up... praying very hard

nomoremagnolia · 19/12/2008 18:57

pic is on profile - I'm praying for you and you baby too I would love to knit something for baby, what would you like? Or do you want me to hold off for the time being? I understand if you don't want to start getting things for baby just yet

OP posts:
mummy2olivia · 19/12/2008 21:03

Hi, I hope nobody minds me joining here?

I've been posting on another TTC thread but don't recognise anyone and feel like a stranger to everyone. You guys are all friendly faces and although I have a DD, I am TTC no.1 with DH....is that allowed?

Had a lap and dye 3 weeks ago and am now on 2 week wait after 1st cycle post lap. Have been on the pill for a while for endometriosis pain but am now off the pill and consultant has officially given the thumbs up for TTC (has wrote 'NO RESTRICTIONS' on my notes )

TBH am finding the TTC again very hard and have had a tough few days- its coming up to the due date of the MC I had in May (24th Dec) and it all just feels a bit pants and its only been 3 weeks! Its been 2 years on and off of TTC (had a break for wedding and went on pill for 5 months) and I know some of you have been trying for much longer but it really does feel like forever!

ready good to see you back chick. You have been very missed!

nomore hello!!

rahrah am so happy you are finally pregnant but at your brother- I remeber how he was when you lost bertie- how annoying!

Hello to everyone else!! [waves]
