Thought it was time for a new thread - we're almost out of room on the original one

Gilly, I am sorry to hear you are feeling down. You have had an awful lot to deal with and still have got alot on your plate.

Take hope with the news that it took me 5 yrs to get this far with 2 prev m/c in last 12 months. There are others on this thread alone, which have had a tough time but are now on the scary rollercoaster that is pregnancy...

Thinking of you and hoping that you a) feel better soon and b) get some good news shortly.

AppleAndBlackberry · 29/10/2008 12:43

Thinking of you ((((Gilly)))) and fingers crossed for IUI this month. Do you think there are any other hospitals near you that might be a bit nicer and more flexible for future IUI courses or are you stuck with the one you've got?

I'm doing fine actually, although I'm pretty sure AF is about to start today or tomorrow. But last cycle was a horrible 31 day thing (normally 26-28) so I'm relieved that at least this month is going to be normal.

RAH! That's totally brilliant. I'm so pleased.

I still appear to be up the duff - judging by the enormity and painfulness of (.)(.), irrational anger towards inanimate objects, and feeling sick if I have a sip of wine - tho have not had a scan yet to confirm. Feels like it's been months already, but I'm only in fact 6 and bit weeks.

Thank you all so much for the comfort and understanding over the past year or so. You've all kept me sane, and s deserve your BFPs.

x

Gilly, sorry to hear you went into overdrive again

RahRah1 · 09/11/2008 10:58

Hi all

Hope you are all ok.

Gilly - Sorry that IUI was a nightmare again.... You know I struggled with it too! It was just one thing after another! They need to use the information from the IUI to look at your dosage when doing IVF, so to not overstimulate. I just felt so much more positive with the IVF as its more controlled and far more successful. They use the Menopur injections with IVF too, but don't tend to use them in IUI as so much more expensive than clomid. So I suspect you might see totally different results using the different med's. I know someone that used the menopur injections on IUI and was successful.

I had my scan on Tuesday as started bleeding on Monday. We saw a heartbeat and a baby. So we do have a pregnancy. But been bleeding ever since. Last night it got worse... which was a nightmare as it was Bertie's 2nd birthday, so was convinced it was dooms day. But went to bed crying and woke up and it is no worse.. but have bad stomach ache... so i just see the whole thing as very tentative. I swear why can't I just be normal!!!!

I hope everyone else is OK.... All my love Rah Xxx

Have my fingers crossed for you Rah Rah [smile x

kd73 · 09/11/2008 13:55

Rah, please try to remain positive as many pregnancies experience some bleeding and you did see a heartbeat, which is a good sign. If however, things get worse please go to your local hospital. They will be able to check you out and see whether the neck of the womb is open/closed, they will also provide you with some much needed support. Its unlikely you will be able to get a scan unless you go to A+E (grrr). Take each day as it comes and know that I'll be thinking of you...

Gilly, I hate to think that the whole process is getting you down (although it is inevitable, I understand). I was incredibly fortunate that although my journey was long (5yrs), it didn't involve all the stresses involved with clomid/iui/ivf. I can't imagine how you all cope, so please don't feel bad about feeling low. Although I've been around for 1.5yrs, I couldn't have copied particularly without this thread - so thank you all!!!

I am doing ok and take each day as it comes. With 6.5 wks to go I am still in denial (consider myself fat with slow mobility and an alien belly which moves around of its own accord!). Having "issues" with teeth again, I am positive that by the end of this experience I will be toothless & gappy

minxi · 10/11/2008 09:36

Rah hope you are taking it easy and managed to get through last few days. Thinking of you x

nomoremagnolia · 10/11/2008 12:22

(((Rah)))
Fingers crossed and prayers being said. It feels so little to offer you after all you've been through, but it's heartfelt xx

Hi All...

Thanks everyone for all your kind messages.... GROUP HUGS!!!!

Sorry for my late reply. I have just got a consultants appointment for Friday, so will speak to him about the bleeding and extra scanning.
I was at the doctors yesterday and this morning as it looks like the steroids are having an effect on my sugar levels. They went through the roof yesterday and have ++protein, so had some blood tests and a chat with the doctor and she is going to bring me off the steroids over the next 15 days. If its not one thing its a bloody other! They gave me sheets on having a diabetics diet??? But I am not eating any sugary items at all... and thirty all the time. Hopefully it will go when I come off the steroids.

Gilly - I agree, although disappointing, its better to go at a cycle relaxed, and xmas holidays really does not help as if its like my clinic they are not open on certain days.. which puts you under pressure if you look like you are going ovulate on one of the days they are closed. Plus you can relax over xmas with parties etc... so I would go for Jan...you will be all partied out and nice and relaxed! They should give you all the needles you need for the injections and a kit to administer it with. I got a DVD etc... I have been doing daily injections in my tummy since finding out I'm pregnant and they have been fine and I really don't like needles! Honest its not that bad! My mum did my HCG injections in my bum and she loved it!

Hello to everyone.... hope everyone is well

Love Rah Xxx

kd73 · 12/11/2008 20:22

Rah, glad you have an appt on Friday, lets us know how you get on...

Thinking of you

AppleAndBlackberry · 14/11/2008 15:46

How did it go today Rah? Everthing crossed and praying for you. xxx

Is anyone feeling Christmassy yet? I'm going to start my Christmas shopping tomorrow and I'm very excited! Love anything that's a distraction from TTC, although I know I'll be sad on New Year's Eve because getting pregnant was the only thing I wanted for 2008. But I'm feeling positive for now

How is everyone else doing?

nomoremagnolia · 14/11/2008 17:38

Thinking of you Rah Hope all went well today
Unfotunately I don't have any good news - despite having what I thought was my period two weeks ago I have been diagnosed today with an ectopic pg. Had a bit of brown spotting yesterday and woke in the night with severe cramps on LH side. Rang out of hours GP who said it could be over stimultion on Clomid or ectopic pg. Did pg test, the only time I want a BFN and it's +ive. Straight off to early pg unit who scan me, take blood, poke and prod and confirm ep. Received great care from them and the epu was seperate from normal scanning/ maternity dept, which was really good after knowing some people's experiences. I only knew I was pg after I knew something was wrong so I'm feeling a bit bamboozled by emotions as well as physically being in pain. Am hoping I will m/c naturally as otherwise it means an op to remove the embryo and tube together, which terrifies me. Even if it's natural m/c I will be closely monitored for the next few weeks as they can't take the risk of anything being left behind in the tube.
