I've started a new thread as the old one was full - hope everyone finds their way here OK.

no i just think our usual extreme tolerance is tested at certain times of the month and we realise how useless they can be!

scully · 12/06/2008 11:57

I think you two should get together for a few drinks
Completely understand your rant Mistle, it's hard some days/weeks dd1 has been quite an easy child, especially considering she moved countries at 4.5yrs.
dd2 has such a different personality and keeps us on our toes much more
2 can be tricky at times, but I still want to add a 3rd to the mix, figure it can't get that more manic than it already is
I wonder why though, at times, and if I am completely mad to want to add to the noise levels and amounts of washing and cleaning I already do, but our family just doesn't seem quite complete yet, I guess.

mistlethrush · 12/06/2008 12:02

Scully from what I've gathered from lots of people, small boys and small girls are a totally different breed quite a bit of the time - so you never know what might happen if you've got two contrasting dds already!

OP posts:
scully · 13/06/2008 13:05

Mistle I'm hoping if we ever get a ds then he would really add to things But then again I am dd3 in my family, so a third girl would also be nice We seem to do girls well
Am enjoying a nice glass of bubbley tonight, actually more than one, but who's counting

cece · 13/06/2008 13:26

Oh yes I have one of each. Mine are like chalk and cheese. Sooooo different. DD is easier in many respects and DS can be much trickier most of the time. Like scully feel like one (or two) more would finish us off nicely...

Not this month though
AF seems to have appeared on CD 25, I am usually 31/32 days, so not sure what is happening?! Has anyone had this? Never happened to me before.

Funny as I told DH on Weds I fancied some choc and we laughed as that usually means AF on way and we thought we had another week to wait.

ontheup · 13/06/2008 18:42

cece I am impressed you only want chocolate once a month!

mistlethrush · 13/06/2008 21:24

Yes, have had shorter cycles suddenly for the last 3 months or so...

I have had a small angel today. Which was wonderful . I have requested that he is more like today on our next holiday like that is going to work!

We've bought some plants for the veg garden to replace all (well, some of) the ones the snails and slugs ate while we were away.

I would just quite like a 2nd... partly so that ds isn't an only one - don't like having all my eggs in one basket (as it were) and don't want the pressure that I had for him (ie I had to suceed in some ways - and I had to find someone to marry, and then it was really important for me to have a child as otherwise my parents wouldn't have been grandparents (unlike ils - bil managed to get then gf pregnant before marrying - and when we were first trying, which was rather a kick in the teeth)

mistle - think you are about the same age as me. Do you think it is worth going to the doc about it? How long before you should go to the doc if you are over 40 anyway?
Oh and how old is your DS???

mistlethrush · 16/06/2008 08:57

Ds was 3 in April. Already seen doc. Have been referred to recurrent mc unit - and had tests, which were clear. Don't think that we'll go for any intervention though. Ds took 6 yrs and a lot of heartache - if its only going to be one, that's life...

Hi there

Do you mind if I join? I had a m/c in Feb (had a scan at 7 weeks due to early appointment for medical reasons, then had some spotting at 9 weeks. Scan at 9 weeks showed that the baby had died just after 7 week scan).

Am now (very) actively ttc again and am currently on CD 11, so looking forward to a busy weekend!

mistlethrush · 17/06/2008 09:54

Hi Hebgb - welcome! Seems a bit quiet here at the moment, but I'm sure that people are just enjoying the weather or doing gardening or something....

ontheup · 18/06/2008 10:34

Hi everyone - I've been in Barcelona with work but am back now - it HAS been quiet round here hasn't it?

Am today as AF arrived yesterday - 5 days early and I had been quite hopeful this month - metallic taste, sore boobs etc - wondering what's going on tbh - I had a 21 hour working day on monday and cant help wondering whether Ive just pushed it too far and that this isnt AF but a very early mc (I really did feel pg before)- am I right in thinking everyone's cycles have been erratic after mc? This is AF 3 so i would have hoped it would settle down...

on the plus side it meas i will be on holiday when i ov next munth so lots of 'opportunity'

ontheup · 18/06/2008 10:35

Hi Hebgb !!!

NotSoNewAnymore · 18/06/2008 13:31

welcome hbjb sorry to hear about your mc. Good luck for tcc again!

ontheup so sorry to hear about your hectic work trip and early AF. I am also in cycle 3 after mc, and my cycle has been quite different AGAIN this month - so maybe it is the hormones settling down (Although I seem to blame everything on that.)If you had so many symptoms, maybe it was an early pregnancy....whilst that would be very sad - at least an egg was fertilised?

I am on cd 24 and imagining ALL sorts of symptoms....for those of you that have had more than one pregnancy - are all the symptoms the same each time?

lastboxoftampons · 18/06/2008 13:39

ontheup and notsonewanymore I feel the same as you both! My AF this month (3rd since mc) seemed to come a day or two early, making my LP a pitiful 9 days and I really really did feel like we had done it that month - I even had a huge temp spike around CD7 or so. I really do feel like the mc totally screwed with my hormones. Was also hoping it would settle down but it doens't seem to be at all I'm now on CD11 and spotting! ~sigh~ Glad to hear we're all in the same boat.

BTw, it's been a while since I've posted here and dont' remember if I was still PrePG last time I was here..

monkeybumsmum · 18/06/2008 13:43

Hello! I came to say hi last week (was charliesmum then) but thought I'd pop back again

Sorry ontheup to hear about AF That sounds tough having such a long day. Holiday sounds good, are you going anywhere nice?

ontheup · 18/06/2008 14:22

wh yis charlie a monkeybum??

ontheup · 18/06/2008 14:24

I'll try that again - why is charlie a monkeybum? what did the little angel do?!

Hi LBOT good to hear you again! Cant believe its only 3m since we all met - feels so long ago

monkeybumsmum · 18/06/2008 14:30

It's just an affectionate name, but he is a little monkey! (See profile for a sideways pic, am crap with technology)

monkeybumsmum · 18/06/2008 14:31

Oops - just realised it's on charliesmum profile, sorry!

monkeybumsmum · 18/06/2008 15:00

Goodness me, I can't believe how long it's just taken me to put some more photo's on. And I've put them on the wrong profile

ontheup · 18/06/2008 15:20

awwwwwwwwwww he's lovely

Just had a chat with DH and told him about thinking I was pg but then early AF and mega cramps today and he reminded me that a few months before I got pg with DS I had the same thing - pg symptoms then early AF and we wondered at that point whether I'd had an early mc (only wondered once I was pg becasue I only then recognised the symptoms Id had before iyswim)

Id conveniently forgotton all this (am good at forgetting, saves dealing with nasty emotions etc) - so on the downside it is a possibility that I have had a v early mc (well, still am) but on the upside if I have then its not the first time and I went on to have DS so I shouldn't give up hope. Don't know what I feel about it at the moment but am now really startnig to wonder whether I need to slow down a bit just in case....

ontheup · 18/06/2008 15:21

...and stop eating duty free chocolates...

charliesmum22 · 18/06/2008 15:37

Chocolates are good for you

Poor you if you are having an early mc, but on the upside if you are then it may well be easier to conceive next month because of the higher levels of progesterone. That's what happened to me - had an early mc (4 weeks ish) then wham bang got pg with DS a couple of weeks later.

How long have you been ttc?

monkeybumsmum · 18/06/2008 15:44

That last one was from me - in a muddle with names
