5 days late, had slight blood the day after I was due when wiping then spend last night in tears as had some brown when I wiped.

woke up this morning and decided to test again as no actual period yet.

i did 3 tests 🙈 husband can see them too but says we should just stay calm and relax 😂 we’ve been ttc for over 10yrs so we’re both extremely cautious

Thank you. The initial call I made I expressed I was concerned it is the original pregnancy being left behind. Still not had a call though 🙄 and I told them I was waiting on a call when I was bleeding and never heard from them. We shall wait and see, but I’ll definitely go and write everything down now. Great idea!

I honestly feel like AF is coming 🙈 I’m bloated and sore sore boobs. If I hadn’t of tested I wouldn’t have thought I was. Although as I said to my OH, AF & BFP symptoms are the bloody same! No wonder we all go mad each month thinking what’s going on!

I've felt like that quite a lot since getting my BFP to the point it worried me so much I ended up in EPU and they reassured me that it can be completely normal, either just being similar symptoms or it could be your body growing. Your tests look really good so (easier said than done, I know) try not to let it get into your head too much. Though I completely understand your reservations. I think writing everything down is a great idea as it's so easy to miss things out when finally speaking to someone. How are you feeling?

im ok. It’s just the unknown. Is it from my MC, is it a new pregnancy… what is it!!!! And I’m frustrated now as I spoke to EPU at 8.30 and still not heard from them. It’s frustrating because they never called when I presented at the Drs bleeding and my gp wanted me seen straight away and they wouldn’t see me but would call… they never did.

so I feel so confused and lost 😞

Call them again OP, you sometimes have to advocate for yourself.

I feel like I can’t call again as they said I’d get a call within 48hours, but hopefully today. There’s probably more urgent people that need seeing than me not knowing what’s going on with me.

If I were you I’d give them another hour maximum and then phone again. I really sympathise, the waiting is awful, but don’t feel shy about phoning again, you have been through so much these last few weeks and after 10 years of trying I think you have every right to an answer from them.

@DoraBella88 I absolutely agree with this & what @DontBiteTheCat said. You could even tell them that you're just a bit worried when you were promised a call back previously and never received one. This is obviously (and understandably so) causing you stress, you deserve to have answers just as much as anyone else. The unknown is the worst, sending lots of hugs 💖

I called them….. they told me I’m on the list and the nurse will call me “at some point, hopefully today but if not tomorrow”. I cried… they didn’t care

Ahhh I'm so sorry, that's so heartless. It costs nothing to be a little kind & compassionate. Don't let this put you off advocating for yourself though, you have absolutely every right to chase, especially after the way they treated you previously.

Hopefully the wait isn't much longer, but in the meantime please do feel free to vent or talk to us if you want/need to. Are you able to do something this afternoon to take your mind off things?

I’m just relaxing and trying not to think about it too much. I know there are people out there in a much worse situation and position as me. Just going to sit in my limbo bubble a little longer I guess.

Oh Dora, I’m so sorry to hear that - you really didn’t need that today 😢 Hang on in there and hopefully it won’t be too much longer now. Would there be any possibility of having a private scan if you don’t get anywhere with the EPU? Fingers crossed you’ll hear from them later today or early tomorrow though.

We will just have to wait and see I guess.
I’ve looked at private scams and I don’t think I can put myself through it because I’ve read some much bad things on them when it’s so early. So I feel if there’s anything left over they won’t see it and if there is a baby they won’t see it. So I will be in the same position but out of pocket 🙈 I don’t mind spending the money if I knew I’d get some definite answers

I hope this is a good result for you. Unfortunately I don't think a scan is going to be able to give you definitive answers for a few weeks. Are you able to book a private hcg blood test? That's your best bet for quick answers right now.

@DoraBella88 I have just read through this whole thread and couldn’t leave without sending you the biggest hugs. I’ll be keeping everything crossed for you over the coming days - I really hope you get the news you are so hoping for and at the very least I hope the EPU team are more empathetic and understanding.

On the private versus NHS scan, I would wholeheartedly recommend pushing for the NHS scan. I had a missed miscarriage earlier in the summer and although I went in with two private scans showing this I had to ‘start again’ with the NHS and meet their timings and scan thresholds which meant a month wait to any confirmation and treatment.

We are all here to support you. I know it’s easy for me to say now that I’m a couple months out of a miscarriage (and I know you’ve been trying for so long) but it will get easier once you’re out of this really intense period 🤍 Totally understand it really is the worst right now.

Ooo maybe you and your husband can treat yourselves to a nice little takeaway or home cooked meal tonight? Make it a bit of a date night? Will allow for you to do something nice together whilst waiting.

Unfortunately that is the downside to early scans, there really isn't much to be seen, but surely they can do something to figure out what's going on? Blood test sounds right, but they also may advise you to carry on testing. You're doing so well, I hope you and your husband are proud of the way you've handled this situation x

honestly I don’t think I would be coping the way I am without you all! I’ve read some of the comments on some of the threads here and some people can just be so cruel with their responses. Honestly you have all shown me nothing but kindness and support and you really don’t know how much that has helped me navigate these past few weeks. So I’m extremely greatful to all of you. Thank you so much!

I’ve just had a parcel turn up and my husband has brought me a new dress 🥰 I’ve been looking at dresses for an upcoming wedding and saw one I liked and he went and brought it for me 🥰 so that made me cry too.

yes takeaway sounds like a good plan! My husband works in agriculture and it’s his busy time of year with harvest, so hopefully he won’t be home too late tonight.

I will call my doctors again tomorrow and see if they can help me. The receptionist was so rude to me this morning that it put me off calling back. I don’t feel like I’m going to hear from EPU any time soon. It’s sad as I feel really let down by them.

I've had private scans due to previous loss and I think they're hit and miss, really depends where you go I think xx

It would be useful for you to have blood taken for hCG levels, two days apart.
Maybe your GP can sort that out?

@ThelastRolo20 yes that’s what’s putting me off a private scan. To be honest even if EPU do call me back I don’t know if they will see anything either 🤷🏻‍♀️

@TheShellBeach yes I think that’s the first move I need. My doctors weren’t giving appointments out today due to staff sickness. So I will have to try again tomorrow morning I guess.

in the mean time I’ll just continue to POAS 🙈😂 I’ve got some Amazon cheapies turning up at some point today to hopefully keep me entertained and not make me more stressed

@DoraBella88 one other idea, if helpful, is trying another EPU. Appreciate it might not be easy in every area depending on where you live, but I was seeing one EPU who didn’t offer the mmc procedure I wanted (and were not in the least bit understanding or caring) and while I had all my scans there I then moved to another EPU at a different hospital for the procedure.

The other EPU were amazing and so so helpful. I had to travel but they were incredible in comparison. I rang them directly and explained my situation and that my current EPU couldn’t deal with it quickly enough or in the way I needed (I was getting married 3 days later).

@DoraBella88 even if the EPU don't see much on ultrasound, it will be a baseline, and they'll be able to see if there's a difference when they scan you again.

I didn’t even think of trying another EPU. I just assumed you would have to attend the nearest one to you. That’s something I will look in to. I think I will try my GP again tomorrow and go from there.

@TheShellBeach I agree. I think bloods is the first thing I need. If the hCG levels increase over the 2 tests that would surely be a good sign? Or could they increase with left over bits from the MC?
