5 days late, had slight blood the day after I was due when wiping then spend last night in tears as had some brown when I wiped.

woke up this morning and decided to test again as no actual period yet.

i did 3 tests 🙈 husband can see them too but says we should just stay calm and relax 😂 we’ve been ttc for over 10yrs so we’re both extremely cautious

I had this when AF was due last month I’ve remembered so I’ve calmed myself down from the panic I just created.

I work in an opticians and have a fully booked day so that’s good. My receptionist is like a mother to me, which is funny as I’m the manager here. But I’ve confided in her and she is looking after me

So…. The doctor called. As much use as a chocolate teapot! Such a waste of time. I explained everything to her and she said that the hormones can show “for quite a while” I explained that at 5 weeks pregnant I would assume they would go pretty quickly. She asked me what I wanted them to do then….
so I said I needed blood tests to see if it’s rising or falling… she asked what my levels were before and I told her I wouldn’t know as it wasn’t tested. She asked why I didn’t go to EPU when I was bleeding so I said they wouldn’t see me and never called me.
she said she will send me a link to book a blood test (she hasn’t) and as I was saying I would need another 2 days later…… she hung up on me!

Oh Dora that sounds awful - I’m so sorry you’ve had such an unhelpful and unempathetic response 😔

She’s sent me the link and the blood test is at the hospital. So that’s going to be difficult with work too. honestly I’m in bits right now. Deciding whether to wait to see if it is AG for a couple of days then if it is I can just keep testing til it’s negative. Or book the bloods. My head is all over the place and I just don’t know what to do right, I can’t think straight

I think you should book blood tests asap so you hopefully get some answers.

@DoraBella88 darling, you need to have the blood test(s).

The result will give a baseline hCG, which is very important. Then you grit your teeth and have a second test, two days later.

It's terrible that you weren't scanned last month when you were bleeding. I know this was not your fault. You have been let down by early maternity services.

Now you've still got a positive pregnancy test - and nobody knows if it is a new pregnancy or if you're still pregnant from the last time - and whether or not you had a complete miscarriage.

I am raging on your behalf at the crass insensitivity of your doctor.

Please pick yourself up and go and have the blood test. I fully understand that you're feeling very distressed - and you're quite right to. But get the blood done, please.

Even if you start bleeding (as you suspect AF has started) this may be a complete red herring.
It might not be AF.
It might be another miscarriage, or the continuation of the last miscarriage, or even just the harmless occasional bleeding which some women get in early pregnancy.

I know you’re both right. I’ve booked it for lunch time tomorrow. My husband is coming with me as I have hospitals

Oh my days, what an absolute joke! Definitely file a complaint! The way you've been treated is absolutely disgusting and there's no need for them to be fobbing you off like this.

My suggestion would be to get the bloods done, even if you do continue to bleed, there's absolutely nothing saying that it's definitely AF, and at least you'd have some start of an answer.

I understand it may be difficult due to work but you come first, work is secondary x

I spoke to my boss and she’s been incredible. I said I’d go in my lunch break and make up any extra time and she told me off and said just go and do what I need to do.

the spotting has vanished again when I wipe. My brain is so frazzled!!!!

If this is a new pregnancy, you may unfortunately be one of the unlucky ones who has unexplained bleeding. I know how scary it is, I've had it with both now and your mind goes 100mph but it doesn't necessarily mean anything negative is happening. I never got any definite answers but it seemed like stress was definitely a factor to a point. Go home, have a nice relaxing bath and an easy night. This whole situation is a lot to take in, remember to be kind to yourself x

@2BabyOrNot2Baby im incredibly lucky with my boss and member of staff I have here. I do alot of extras above my pay grade and my boss said that and told me to just go and do what I need to, she even thanked me for coming back in to work after too.

I’m so tired. Going to do just that. Nice relaxing bath and early night tonight

Apologies for my erratic day yesterday. My head was all over the place 😭

so it’s blood test day today. I am terrified as I hate hospitals 🙈 but my husband is meeting me there to hold my hand and keep me calm.

obviously I’ve tested again this morning, I will add them below. Pink dye still faint but there is a line.

no spotting or period so far this morning. Feeling extremely tired (probably the stress) and my boobs are so swollen and sensitive.

No need to apologise, we completely understand. I think you're handling this a lot better than a lot of other people would.

You've still not heard back from EPU have you? It may be worth calling them back and explaining that you were due a call Monday or yesterday and still haven't received anything. I'd also suggest looking into another unit if you're able to

nope still not heard from EPU 🙄 so disappointing! Yes I will try and call them again today but also look in to another unit too. I’m not sure where the next nearest one is. Will do some research though.

At work this morning and had a lovely quiet half hour with my receptionist who knows what’s going on. Just got to get through til 12 then I leave for the hospital. I’m going to another branch after the blood tests so will hopefully be busy this afternoon.

Also to add, if this is a new pregnancy, I would be 4 weeks today based on last bleed
