Hi there,

I am taking Clexane at the moment, once I've administered a dose in my stomach I press the top to close the needle and a little squirt comes out, is this bad? Does it mean I'm not getting the full dosage? Not sure why it happens, please can someone shed some light. Many thanks.

Hey, I'm okay. How are you? Have you booked a private NIPT scan?

Hi @Peaches1407 , how did your scan go?
Yes I just booked it yesterday for Friday. I am getting anxious now as I'm getting closer to 12 week scan.

Are you based in London? Would you mind saying where you booked it? Same, I'm getting nervous as well. I feel quite good and think oh that can't be right! My scan was fine, and the spotting has subsided for now.

Yes I'm based in London. I booked at birth company but I think window to womb is about 120£ cheaper. I just thought if I had any issues birth company might be a bit better, I don't know why 🥺🤞🏻I had considered not doing it until later but convinced myself I'd rather know earlier, but it's so expensive.
Have you got your dating scan booked? Mine is in 2.5 weeks. I think next couple of weeks are going to be long.
My spotting also subsided but it went on all the way till last week so I don't know if it will come back. I've also not got symptoms today but had quite a few last week. I just wish I knew how to be calmer

Thanks for those recommendations. I'll book mine for next week. This is all terrifying. I've realised I am actually nauseous this morning and I've started eating hula hoops as that seems to help, but I need to get a healthier snack like a ryvita or something!

Is the dating scan the 12 week scan? Mine is on 13 Aug and I'll be 12 weeks 5 days by then.

Glad your bleeding has stopped as well!

Hula hoops is not too bad 😊 I'm glad I've not started the morning with candy kittens, though today I have no symptoms, so I'm hoping I can use the opportunity to be a bit healthier. I got some blood results from my booking appointment that showed me borderline on prediabetes 😭 so I have since in the last week improved my diet, at least snack wise.
My scan is on 16th Aug. I should be exactly 12 weeks + 1 day. I've had scans with 1 day ahead and then 1 day behind, just hoping it doesn't mean the growth is slowing.
Peaches, I'm definitely as scared for the next few weeks as I was at week 6 for my first scan. It just feels like a massive milestone to get there. Wish us good luck.

Oh no,.I'm probably pre diabetic as well. Need to clean up my diet, I've been craving the strangest things like sausage rolls and pies! I'll also aim to be healthy from now on!!! Good luck for your scans and the next few weeks. Fingers crossed for both of us x

Hi, how are you? Hope all is well. Can I please ask did you have the NIPT SAFE or just NIPT?

OP posts:
Lemonbalm8 · 03/08/2024 18:32

@Peaches1407 I got the illumina nipt test x

Lemonbalm8 · 03/08/2024 21:10

Ah @Peaches1407 where are you booking?
At my booking, I was advised to not to sex chromosome tests, like checking for turners etc, as it has higher false positive rate, and they might completely wrongly ruin the rest of the pregnancy and even lead to having to do invasive test. So I decided to opt out and just got for the usual 3 trisomies.

Peaches1407 · 04/08/2024 06:45

I'm going to book the one you told me about - The Birth Company. Thanks for that, I'll do the usual ones that they cover. There are so many genetic disorders so you're right not to go down that rabbit hole. Hope your appt went well. Xx

It is more expensive than window to womb which is about £360 for scan and blood test. My preference is really personal, just to let you know about the price difference.

I'm anxious these weeks, waiting for the dating scan and the test results. I don't think I can take any bad news.

Thank you, I did think about that but Wood St is out of my way a little. Did your scan test for DS, Edwards and Patau? I'll check other places in London and see if there are any recommended ones. What is the difference between this and the 12 week NHS scan, is it just the accuracy? Plus I guess it's earlier.

Yes accuracy.
Yes 3 of these.

I am not sure what you mean wood st. Birth company I went to is next to Marylebone/baker street, while the closest window to womb for me is in Croydon. Both equal distance but I went to the one that I felt most comfortable with for personal reasons.

Ah, I believe there is another Window to the Womb in Walthamstow which is Wood St.

Peaches1407 · 08/08/2024 19:56

Hey! Yes doing okay. Had my scan today and baby looked good, hope the blood test comes out okay.

How are you doing? Was your scan okay? Can I ask about Cyclogest, when are you stopping it? I'm supposed to be stopping clexane and Provgnova today and take two pessaries of cyclogest until 16 weeks. I'm terrified my body won't make hormones!

Hey! So happy the scan was good, hope you get the test results swiftly and it's all ok.
I am stopping cyclogest at week 16 and clexane/aspirin I have to take until 36 weeks due to blood clotting condition.

Peaches1407 · 09/08/2024 21:02

Hope your scan went well. Whatever the result I'm glad I did it. Thanks for your advice.

How many pessaries are you on? I take 4 currently and the hospital have reduced that to 2 from tomorrow until 16 weeks. I'm paranoid that my body won't produce Progesterone due to my age. I wish I could just trust my body to do the job!

The relief is immense from the NIPT, I had a good scan and low risk results. Just a week ago I had some bad results from my husband's sperm results done before in May (why they delayed to tell us I don't know, but glad they did because it would have sent me spiralling), which is correlated with miscarriage. So getting these results eased my anxiety so much. Hope its all ok for you 🤞🏻

I take 2 each 400 mg since pregnancy test being positive, so it sounds all fine. They only recommend until 16 weeks for bleeding and previous MCs, and placenta takes over at 11-12 weeks, so I wouldn't worry at all.

Peaches1407 · 10/08/2024 17:00

Ah sorry to hear about your husbands results but kind of a blessing that you weren't aware. Glad your results are positive news!

What time do you take your pessaries? I was on 4 so cutting down is making me nervous

I just do one in morning and one at night. I really wouldn't worry about progesterone at this stage. Placenta will do most if not all the work.

Lemonbalm8 · 26/08/2024 21:09

How are you @Peaches1407? 💚

Peaches1407 · 27/08/2024 13:31

Hey, I'm good. How are you doing? Hope all is going well. Not much to update really, I'll be getting some extra scans for my cervix due to having a septum removed so I hope that's all good.

I'm ok @Peaches1407 I've had some scares last week, just trying to keep positive. Sorry I'm checking in, don't feel like you need to update or anything. Hope your NIPT was ok.
