MocktailMe · 10/06/2024 11:59

Hi all.

As per the title, TTC first baby, I've never had a confirmed pregnancy before. I'm 31, bf is 27.

Been trying to conceive 9 months, but due to PCOS only 6 cycles.

This year I've lost weight, and my cycles since January have varied from 28 days to 38 days. Had PCOS confirmed, and currently waiting for an appointment with gynaecologist to see if I need further assistance. Appointment is taking its sweet time so for now doing it the old fashioned way still with plenty of hope (at least some days, not so much others!!!).

I'm currently on cycle day number 28, negative tests, no signs of a period in sight, CM up to my eyeballs and a whole heap of doubt over when ovulation occured!!

If you are :

TTC #1
A woman who has never been pregnant
Pissing on sticks at an ALARMING rate
Potentially with PCOS but healthy ovaries welcome 😁

Then PLEASE join my thread, so in need of buddies in a similar boat! ⛵

No offence to those TTC #2 or more, genuinley ❤️ just hoping to speak to people who also have no idea what pregnancy would feel like, and who also maybe have the fear they CANNOT ever get pregnant ❤️

@CosmoMango @MocktailMe @Waitingformiracle thank you all for your kind words. I have an appointment at 1pm today at the hospital to go through next steps.

@CosmoMango congratulations to you! Sending you lots of love and positive vibes x

ToomanyBFNs · 08/10/2024 10:32

@KTB34 I am so so sorry for your loss. That’s absolutely devastating news. Sending lots of love to you both.

KTB34 · 08/10/2024 10:38

@ToomanyBFNs thank you ❤️

Congratulations to you ! Sending lots of love x

CosmoMango · 08/10/2024 10:39

Thank you @MocktailMe I've done over 50 tests and now started paying for blood tests every 48 hours but know that's still no guarantee

@KTB34 I hope the hospital are compassionate to make it as stress free as possible

KTB34 · 08/10/2024 10:40

@CosmoMango hosptial have been terrible. I’ve actually made a complaint this morning !

I'm so sorry, that's the last thing you need. I hope going forward they improve

KTB34 · 08/10/2024 15:01

@lavafield @CosmoMango

Thank you both. The lady we saw today was amazing. I’ve been sent home to wait for it pass naturally, if nothing happens by next week I’ve got a follow up scan in a weeks time. I’ve got a sick note so at least I don’t have to worry about work for now !

MocktailMe · 08/10/2024 17:43

I'm very pleased you had a lovely doctor and it's good you have a sick note too. Plenty of rest at home without any stress is exactly what you need right now. Hopefully you won't need any medical management. So sorry this has happened, it really is very unfair, I know what a longed for baby this was :(

We will all be here for you whenever you decide and feel ready to try again. Just because this has happened once doesn't mean it will do again. @Waitingformiracle has been through this same thing, but I have been lots of lovely supportive ladies on Mumsnet with this same experience too, with a lot of wisdom shared ♥️

@MocktailMe thank you for your very kind words ❤️

To all of you actually ! Today has been very hard but the hardest part is yet to come.

I’m also going to struggle being at home and doing nothing, can’t exercise either. I guess that long Netflix list will have to do for now!

Waitingformiracle · 08/10/2024 18:03

@KTB34 it's so great that you have a supportive doctor, it makes such a huge difference feeling seen and understood. Taking time off work is a really good idea and take as much time as you need. I am so sorry you are going through this it's truly so awful. My heart breaks for you. If you have any questions that I can help with please feel free to ask, of course all of our journeys are different but I have been through something similar so always here to help. Stay home and cosy and binge on Netflix and some treats for yourself. A good show I watched recently on Netflix is called "Nobody Wants This" - I can confirm there are ZERO babies or pregnancies. I find it very hard to find non triggering television as I feel like everywhere I turn in television or books there are pregnancies. So if anyone ever finds any non-triggering shows please share!

KTB34 · 08/10/2024 18:05

@Waitingformiracle I have started this! And I love it! Thank you making me smile for the first time today because I do need to finish it 🤣!

Waitingformiracle · 08/10/2024 18:46

@KTB34 it's such a great watch!! I didn't want it end 😅

MocktailMe · 08/10/2024 21:10

I've recently binge watched heart stopper the LGBT teenage series. Im definitely a bit old for it but it's genuinely such a lovely sweet show - and due to it centering on a group of 16-18 year old LGBT students it is very much NOT related to pregnancies, babies or motherhood in the slightest!

So if you want something sweet, fluffy and a little bit sad at times (but always with happy endings!) I would very much recommend.

Also, I know you aren't allowed to excercise but hopefully walking is allowed? If so, head out to somewhere beautiful and within a short distance from home for if you have to head back. Even if you can't walk round, an hour or two sat on a bench with a lovely view is good for the soul. Even if it's a bit rainy sitting in a anorak in a beautiful natural place is still good for the soul!

The BBC women's hour podcast is excellent - and if you feel up to it, there are some really great episodes covering pregnancy loss that are sensitively handled. Plus many other great interesting episodes entirely unrelated to all things baby if you would rather not engage. Makes for good listening in the great outdoors I find!

Thank you @MocktailMe this is really helpful ❤️

Hope everyone is doing well today x

MocktailMe · 09/10/2024 13:30

No probs and thank you. All okay here. 9DPO and showing negative. I had had a good feeling for this month but it's fading away somewhat with each negative day 😂

Will see how it goes. If it's not my month then it means I can call for an appointment for my HSG so that will be my silver lining if it's bad news. Hoping I won't need one though.

Hi ladies, AF arrived for me today! I knew I wasn't pregnant though as I had been testing since about 7DPO 🤣 I'm a bit like you @MocktailMe I like to know early if it's not happening that cycle so that by the time AF arrives I'm just excited to be on a new cycle. I hope you might get some good news over the next few days 🤞🤞 hope everyone else is doing well and @KTB34 thinking of you!

KTB34 · 10/10/2024 11:51

Hi lovely sorry to hear your AF has arrived! I think we can all share in the pain of that arriving every month.

Thank you for the words ❤️

c644775 · 10/10/2024 18:59

Hi I’m in same boat I’ve never been pregnant I’m 24 I tried at 18 for 6 months then at 22 for 6 months and now I’m on cycle 2 of trying again I have just come on my period 5 days early after 5 days of spotting since 7dpo which has never happened before I thought it was implantation bleeding and started to hope and had it taken away today by AF showing early so I had a big cry and time to try again next month I am surrounded by people getting pregnant and I am really struggling mentally with the ttc process it definitely takes a toll but hoping it won’t be much longer for us all ❤️

KT199 · 10/10/2024 18:59

Hello ladies, new to this thread but just entered cycle 3 of ttc baby 1 😊
CD2, trying to be positive and take steps to improve our chances with vitamins/supplements (not that I’m sure it really makes a difference?! but it least for now I’ll tell myself it might), eating and exercising. Typically ovulate CD 14-16 so a little while off fertile week yet.

Sorry to read of your loss @KTB34, the world can be so cruel at times 💔. Rest up, take plenty of time for yourself. Sending positivity for when you feel ready to get back in the TTC game.

Good luck to all you ladies currently in your TWW 🫶

KTB34 · 10/10/2024 19:09

@KT199 thank you lovely ❤️

Welcome to the tribe !

MocktailMe · 11/10/2024 06:35

Welcome @KT199 and @c644775

I'm feeling pretty gutted today, 11DPO and negative. I know that technically there's still a small chance, but I'm pretty much considering myself out for the count now - which really stings given how well we timed things!

Echoing your sentiments here @Waitingformiracle - when you test like we do it really does manage the expectations (for me at least!) so now in my mind I'm going to switch to waiting for my period to start. If this isn't my month then I'm really hoping that at the least I'll be able to get this HSG booked.

What is it they say about madness? Doing the same thing over and over expecting different results!!!! Yet here we all are!!!

Can I join please ! Trying for #1 since Feb this year. Had.a BFP in June but unfortunately led to a MMC in August so just had my first cycle back and ready to try again.
Have a very short luteal phase (ovulation day 24 and then 8 day LP) so any recommendations of supplements or tests I can take ? On vitamin b6 at the moment , should I only take this during ovulation?

Waitingformiracle · 11/10/2024 07:43

@MocktailMe I think about that quote ALL the time while TTC 🤣 it really is the definition of madness. I'm sorry about your BFN yesterday. I know how you feel, when you're not technically out until AF comes but it starts to get less likely. Keeping everything crossed!

Welcome @c644775 @KT199 and @NoisyBee

@NoisyBee very sorry for your loss. I hope your rainbow baby will come for you soon.

@c644775 so sorry to hear how much you've been struggling, it's a really cruel process so take care of yourself

houwseevryweekend · 11/10/2024 08:09

Hello! Would love to join please. 38, and first cycle trying and CD1. The last time for a while I'll be pleased to start my period Grin. DH and I were going to wait to ttc next summer after we complete our renovation, do one last big holiday and enjoy Oasis in July but I've had the most primal instinct for the last month telling me I need to do it now...And I listen to my body since the last time I felt like this was 31 - going through a divorce and felt like it wouldn't happen for me. Also at 38 don't want to delay it much longer!

I'm not using OPKs but I've always tracked cycles with Clue anyway so have an idea when I ovulate, and will keep an eye out for mucus etc. If it doesn't work a few cycles, will try OPKs then. All my closest friends have just had babies so am ultra broody atm too.
