I just wanted to start a thread for those who’ve been trying for a little while (or a long while) and it doesn’t seem to be happening. It’s great seeing all the positives on the TTC threads but I’m starting to find it a little disheartening as it seems to be happening quickly for almost everyone but me! Statistics seem to vary but suggest between 60-70% of couples get pregnant within three months. We’ll be heading into cycle 5 shortly TTC our first, both in our early 30s.

Is anyone else in a similar situation?

@Favofit I’m feeling kind of sick. I’m a bit dizzy and nauseous.

It could be the start of something , sounds like strong symptoms. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you ❤️

RRAEE · 04/05/2024 17:12

@Favofit sorry to hear AF showed. Hopefully next cycle brings good news.

Thank you , I really hope so ❤️

Can't remember the last time I had wine, I've just bought a bottle of Malbec and will drink with OH over dinner and possibly before whilst I'm cooking

Marie1990x · 04/05/2024 18:08

@Favofit it really is draining and such an emotional rollercoaster. I feel like the more it doesn’t happen, the more you want it for sure.

I keep telling myself I’m so incredibly lucky to have my DD and feel selfish for being down because #2 isn’t happening

Shortcake06 · 04/05/2024 18:16

@YaWeeFurryBastard yep 5 days in a row 🫠 thankfully been off work this week or I don’t think I’d have managed! It means nothing though as it’s never worked before!
@Favofit im really sorry, the disappointment is so tough and the hormones make it worse. I honestly think you are more than allowed to enjoy a glass of wine tonight. Sending hugs x
@Marie1990x i hope these are symptoms of pregnancy rather than AF 🤞

I feel exactly the same with DD, such difficult feelings to navigate. I hope we get our little ones soon ❤️

Thank you so much , it's been so long that my head went into a total spin after the first glass 😅. I must admit I had another with dinner but that's me done now. Wishing you the very best ❤️

SWeal · 04/05/2024 20:03

AF arrived for me on Thursday, so going into cycle 8. I never imagined it would take this long, but I didn’t cry when AF arrived so i’m starting to cope a little better (I hope)

Had bloods done on Friday and having more on CD21, hoping it all comes back ok 😓

Shortcake06 · 04/05/2024 09:07

@mamataylor hi, we are the same boat trying for no 2 after a miscarriage last summer. My first child was conceived after 6 cycles and had a textbook pregnancy so this has all been difficult. Where are you in your cycle?
@YaWeeFurryBastard hopefully you get your results back quickly 🤞 it’s good they are looking into it!
@Marie1990x im no expert but I think once you have ovulated your LH levels can go up and down during the luteal phase. I listened to a good podcast called as a woman by Natalie Crawford and she says there is no point testing LH after you’ve had your peak, but of course you will get different advice!

im now CD 15 and have got a positive OPK 🥳
it will probably get a bit stronger still so think ill peak this afternoon.
We have DTD every day for the last 3 days and will again today and tomorrow. I’ll be knackered 😂

We are on CD7 today - finished AF two days ago who decided to arrive 6 days late last cycle 🙃 plan to DTD every other day this month and see how we go. We don’t use OPKs at the moment but tempted to start as it’s taking us a little longer this time.

My cousin has just announced the birth of her baby boy and I can’t help but feel a bit envious 😩 I’m of course so happy for her but a bit sad for me. I’m sure you guys understand how I’m feeling 🙈

Shortcake06 · 04/05/2024 21:49

@mamataylor i know that feeling well. You are so happy for other people but it just highlights our struggles. It’s a really strange thing. One of my friends fell pregnant at the same time as me when I miscarried. It’s amazing to see her beautiful baby but will always be a little painful thinking about what could have been.
Big hugs x

Daniki · 05/05/2024 09:32

Adding myself to this thread. Feel like iv been TTC for centuries at this point 😂🙈

That’s exactly it! It’s so nice when other people relate and confirms what you’re feeling is so normal 🙈
oh no, that’s tough isn’t it. It makes you think ‘why me’. It’s so unfair.
Hope you have a lovely bank holiday x

Welcome! I’m completely with you on that feeling 🙃 how long have you been ttc for? X

Daniki · 05/05/2024 10:24

@mamataylor 2 years this month actually we've been trying for baby no2 🥴 it is the most frustrating journey ever! X

Can I join? I lost my twins at 29 weeks 6 months ago. I'm currently in cycle 5 - 4dpo. I'm completely disheartened. Sick of seeing bfns. It's been an incredibly painful journey. It's never taken me 5 months to conceive. My twins were my first after 2 mc.

Marie1990x · 05/05/2024 12:38

@Ella31 I’m so sorry to see this. I can’t begin to imagine what you must have gone through. Hoping you catch on very soon x

curliegirlie · 05/05/2024 12:45

I've been just over 2 years now TTC DC3 (after an early MC, which was an oops moment whilst on the pill). I still can't get my head around the fact that that last ill-fated pregnancy was the result of a couple of weeks being a bit flaky taking the pill, and now it's been something like 27 cycles of actively trying and nothing bar a CP last November....The Groundhog Day element is just so dispiriting. In the run up to AF day I end up peeing on so many sticks, as if the more I do will make a line more likely to appear 🙈😩. I keep saying each month will be my last trying but then don't have the strength to give up and firmly close the door either....

emmatcc1 · 05/05/2024 12:59

I’m getting really tired of ttc and I’m looking to buy conceive plus. Do any of you have experience with it?

I do the same! I bought a box of 30 premom tests (I wanted to test the trigger out anyway) but I have like 4/5 left 😂 I am in the same boat, my son was conceived after around 6 months, when we started trying again 2 years ago I got pregnant straight away, lost it at 8 weeks then pregnant again straight away and lost it at 9 weeks. Had a chemical in May last year not a hint of a second line since!! It is so frustrating. 3 of my friends are pregnant and it's so hard 🙈

YaWeeFurryBastard · 05/05/2024 13:34

Welcome @Daniki and @Ella31 (and anyone else I’ve missed!), I remember seeing you two over on the “main” ttc threads and I’m sorry you’ve ended up on this one ☹️.

@emmatcc1 i used conceive plus and it’s fine, obviously hasn’t worked for us though 😂

Hope you don’t mind me joining and sorry we’re all in the same frustrating situation. We’re on cycle 4 now which I know isn’t long, we were unofficially trying (no protection & seeing what happens) for about 6 months before that too. I’m 35 this year and my partner is 38 so that’s adding to the anxiety. I’ve just 2 days ago been for some fertility blood tests to check everything’s ok so I’ll get those back soon. I’ll have a quick read through this thread. Thanks for setting it up @YaWeeFurryBastard 🥰

emmatcc1 · 05/05/2024 16:03

I just checked my cervix and there was some blood so af will definitely be here tomorrow. I ordered conceive plus and a bunch of ovulation and pregnancy tests so we’re going all in next cycle.

LK2610 · 05/05/2024 16:05

What’s everyone been doing to take their mind off things? ☺️

LK2610 · 05/05/2024 16:05

YaWeeFurryBastard · 30/04/2024 06:17

@Shortcake06 see also the “is this a positive” threads where they have a big thick line, I find them irrationally infuriating 😂. YES we can all see it’s a positive and I bloody wish I had a test like that!!

This 😂
