TTC for those taking longer than average ✨

I just wanted to start a thread for those who’ve been trying for a little while (or a long while) and it doesn’t seem to be happening. It’s great seeing all the positives on the TTC threads but I’m starting to find it a little disheartening as it seems to be happening quickly for almost everyone but me! Statistics seem to vary but suggest between 60-70% of couples get pregnant within three months. We’ll be heading into cycle 5 shortly TTC our first, both in our early 30s.

Is anyone else in a similar situation?

@Daniki Thank you for your reply ❤️ I just cannot believe it’s been a whole year 😢 No, never have any spotting, I do have slightly abnormal periods in the sense that i’ll stop bleeding maybe CD5 and not bleed for an entire day and then start bleeding full flow again. I also have brown blood for a long time after my period now, sometimes it’s still there as I go into my ovulation window. My doctor has just put that down to my periods changing after having a baby. Always generally 14 days from ovulation to period, they’re like clockwork most of the time.

@SWeal sounds hormonal issue if you're hah in that brown blood for so long, I also have the same, I have brown spotting for a few days before period the. My period lasts up to 10 days but that's including the brown blood after! I have low progesterone 🙈

@Daniki Same here, my period can be 10-14 days including the brown blood! I’ve had acupuncture and fertility massages for the last 8 months to try and help things. All it’s really helped is emptying my bank 😣 My fertility massage lady, thinks that my uterus isn’t working as it should and releasing my period blood - basically it’s all slowed down too much. My progesterone levels are fine along with all my other bloods. I’m now thinking it may be something to do with c-section scar tissue but from what I read it’s quite rare. Really, I hope there’s nothing wrong and it’s just taking as long as it takes.

Have they offered you progesterone pessaries? xx

@SWeal not at all, I have them at home as was prescribed them after my second miscarriage but never really had a chance to use them! Will hopefully get to use them soon 🥰 thanks ladies. 🙌

I’m 35. I think it’s very much a “postcode lottery” annoyingly. Although everyone I know in the same situation have at least had blood tests! Definitely worth ringing your gp and telling them?
I have my scan booked in for next week so will be interesting what comes of that and if there’s anything they can do

It’s sort of on hold from my end for the time being. I have my ultrasound soon so will see what that says. It’s around the same time I “should” be ovulating, so hopefully this will be one of the last cycles in the unknown and then have a more reliable plan moving forward

@Marie1990x oh the waiting is horrible! Hope it's quick and you get a clear plan going forward 🙏 everything feels like it's such a waiting game!
Haha I tested this morn and it was negative but I was trying to convince myself it was a faint line 😂 I ordered more tests but prob not arrive till tomorrow now so at least I can't test anymore (until tomorrow night!) I'm the equivalent of 9dpo today!

@Marie1990x never mind I just seen they were delivered today, it will be hard stopping myself constantly testing now!!

Im now late been feeling a bit off but not getting my hopes up as i can be irregular. If Af don't show by Friday night, ill do a test on the Saturday but after past cycles. My hopes are low.

@RRAEE when r you due on? I think that's a good idea it will take the pressure off! That happens me the odd time with this I don't get any notifications!
